It's a bit weird that more original characters such as Harold, Susan, Lou, Toadie etc are not on this plane if its twenty years celebration.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm confused about the whole 20 year celebration bit, as it was supposed to be a 20 year celebration when the Lassiters complex burnt down - did some scriptwriter/producer fail their Maths at school?

And Sindi isn't killed on the plane, she voluntarily admits herself to a psychiatric institution.

If I was to guess, my money would be on Elle being the other victim as they could then make Paul Robinson even more bitter and twisted because of his grief.

FOUR DIE IN PLANE CRASH HORROR!

A mid-air party goes horrifically awry - and Izzy is at the centre of it

In a shocking Neighbours twist that's set to leave viewers stunned in coming weeks, a bomb tears apart a plane carrying some of Ramsay Street's most beloved residents. The ordeal claims four passengers, with a number of others presumed dead - and Erinsborough's notorious firebrand, Izzy Hoyland (Natalie Bassingthwaighte), appears to be at the centre of the disaster.

Aboard the flight - a 40s themes, sky-high party organized by Paul (Stefan Dennis) to celebrate 25 years of Lassiters - are Paul and Izzy, his daughter Elle (Pippa Black), David (Kevin Harrington), Lil (Marcella Russo), Serena (Lara Sacher), Connor (Patrick Harvey), Susan (Jackie Woodburne), Alex (Andrew Clarke), Sky (Stephanie McIntosh) and Dylan (Damien Bodie).

The plane takes off from Melbourne to fly over Bass Strait to Launceston - but something goes terribly wrong when Izzy finds a note sticking out of the seat pocket in front of her. "Izzy pulls out the envelope and on the front it reads, 'To my one and only'. She thinks it must be a love letter from Paul," explains Bassingthwaighte on the set of Neighbours. "But when she opens the note the smile drains from her face. It says, 'Think about your life and everything you have done'." She charges up to Paul and demands an explanation, but he swears he knows nothing about it. Then Izzy turns on Elle. She pulls the teenager aside, but she denies any knowledge of the note and seems troubled by its implications.

Just then, the plane is torn apart by an explosion. Flames are seen outside as the aircraft begins to spiral out of control. Smoke fills the cabin and, as the terrified passengers climb back in their seats, only screams and prayers can be heard over the din of dying engines. Certain she's about to die, frantic Izzy fastens her seatbelt, reaches for her phone and calls the love of her life - Karl (Alan Fletcher)! She leaves him a long message, vowing that she always loved him and apologising for the heartbreak she caused," Bassingthwaighte reveals.

The eternal troublemaker doesn't realise that her lover Paul, sitting on the other side of the aisle, hears the entire conversation. In the moments before impact, he learns that Izzy is still in love with the doctor, and becomes even more distressed.

The plane crashes into the freezing, notoriously rough seas of the Bass Strait and disintergrates, throwing the passengers far and wide. Screams for help fill the utter blackness as survivors desperately cling to the wreckage. Serena lapses into unconsciousness, while exhausted Susan sinks into the depths below. David and Lil are nowhere to be seen, and frantic Paul searches for his lost daughter. Panic-stricken Izzy screams out hopelessly for help as she faces an imminent demise.
