"Agggggggggggggggghhhh" said Irene.

There was a brief flash.

"What was that," said Kirsty.

"The house was just struck by lightening and if it weren't for me marigold gloves darl, I would have been a gonner."

"I always had you as a Tottenham fan Irene," said Robbie.

"I said a gonner, not a Gooner."

"I'll phone Flynn, get him to check you over."

"Nah, I'll be fine. I don't want him coming out in this weather."

The rain came down and down that. If Noah, were still around he would have either made passionate love with Hayley or built an ark. The sky lit up a timed intervals, a crescendo of noise, followed by pitter patter.

Like all rainy nights, there follows the morning, usually sunny and damp, the birds chirping in the trees, everything that little bit greener.

Flynn got out of bed and went into the kitchen. He put the toaster on and then sat down to read the paper.
