Ashirr-Leigh Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 Apparently so. They're not the real ones. Just prelims, I think they're called mocks in England? They were supposed to be around the middle/end of February. Now they're switching it to middle/end of January. That means that after we come back from Christmas hols, we have literally a week or two to revise.
Dazacoulls Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 I've never heard Prelim... But Mocks I have, Basically its a test to test you on the test... Don't know about you, but i'm confused and I wrote the bleeding thing... Is that correct Ashirr-Leigh what I said, I've forgotten - It has been nearly 6 yrs... I can barley remember yesterday .
MarMar Posted December 9, 2005 Report Posted December 9, 2005 So... it's a test to prepare you for an actual exam?
Dazacoulls Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Yep!! I think they give you your predicted grades!!! I tell ya - It didn't for me, My predicted grades were better than my actual grades... It was a waste of time.
Ms Becky Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 They don't give you your predicted grades (e.g. I got an E last time, then got an A in the actual exam), the teachers just use it as a marker for how well you're doing - because they need something to tell your 'rents at parents evening. We don't do set mocks at A Level really though, due to the modular exams in January. But I have a chemistry 'mock' paper that I'm going to have to do next week. I pretty much just ignore them though. I float through the year, then revise for a few weeks before the exam and do every past paper I can find. It usually works. *shrug* Note to younger members: *so* never a good idea to listen to me!!
MarMar Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Haha... you're a bad influence... we have the same in Norway.. sorta.. it's like a mid-term, but they hand out old exams.
Kimmy Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 ARGH! Stupid Coles won't give me a bloody job! I applied on the net in JUNE...then in NOVEMBER they have a sign saying they need staff...I call up and I need to give them a number...then I call with the number and I need something else...now I need some stupid form which I never got now Nathan is blaming it on me that I haven't got the form even though they never gave me the form! ARGH F#$%ING HELL!! Man that felt good
discodudette Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Maybe you should apply for something else summer_bay_babe, unless you really want to work there! It would seem less complicated. I had to apply at least 3 times for my old job. At my new job though I have to train for it at another store that 40 minutes away and the traffic gets really bad!! Grrr
