Morag's first exit in 1993.

Morag's devious plan to get Sam in 1993 was the last straw for Alf and I remember him lambasting her as she was crying in the driveway saying she is no longer part of this family. She then left town, but returned 8 years later in 2001.

Somehow I wonder if her first exit would have made a great last EVER exit for the character? Or do you think they did the right thing bringing this soap legend back in 2001?

Absolutely her character was even better in 2001-onwards as she wasn’t so one dimensional anymore and Cornelia Frances herself said interview understood why writers mellowed her character.

The 1993 storyline was a strange one. Why was Morag so intent on getting this adopted boy (of merely two years), who she had never met (had she?) into an elite private school? In the end Alf and Ailsa's anti Morag objections seemed to overlook the possibility that Sam might actually benefit from such an education.

Morag along with Celia were missed during the 1990s.

I see echoes of it in Morag's relationship with Roo, which could be odd at times. Maybe she felt some sort of loss after Bobby's death and in some warped way, saw sending him to that school as a way to improve his life. It'd also give her control, which was something she liked.

And Alf disowning Morag as she was crying near her car was harsh. A bit of an over reaction. I wonder if Morag had good intentions.

Again, Alf being a hypocrite retcon as he kept Martha's faked death secret for 30 years.

On par with Neighbours with Helen's apparent disgust at Jim/Maureen (result: Glen) in 'Nam when she kept Max/Anne (result: Jill) a secret from him!

I'm going say no purely based on the fact I was 3 in 1993 and I didn't get see her till her 2001 return if she never came back I'd of missed out and she my favourite character of all time.
