Stalker unveiled in time for Logies

The Gold Coast Bulletin

28 April 2005

FANS of teen soapie Home and Away will learn the identity of the Summer Bay stalker on Tuesday. It's about time, too.

Sally becomes the latest victim of the baddie.

While she fights for her life, Peter finds the final clue he needs to unravel the stalker's identity, puts two and two together and races off to save the day.

The unmasking and the chaos that follows will be complete by the time couch potatoes settle down to watch Australian television's night of nights, the TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday.

We're guessing the stalker won't be Gold Logie nominee Bec Cartwright's alter-ego Hayley Smith. Cartwright and real-life fiance Lleyton Hewitt are still to appear together on a recently filmed episode which airs in coming months.

Hewitt paws through a copy of a surf mag in the coffee shop. Cartwright gives him a flirty look over her shoulder.

The couple who plan to wed at the end of the year hit the Logies arrivals carpet together on Sunday.

Whether Cartwright can follow up by winning the gold statue remains to be seen but she's the hot favourite to win the gong in what is tipped to be a close race between Cartwright, talk-show host Rove McManus, vying for his third gold Logie, McLeod's Daughter and new mum Bridie Carter and former All Saints star Georgie Parker.

The nine-times nominated John Wood danced up a storm on last year's Dancing with the Stars but it's unlikely that will be enough to win him the gong he has wanted for so long.
