From the 20 Memorable departures feature on Chloe:

her daughter Olivia became subject of a tug of love before eventually being taken in by Chloe's ex husband James.

From memory (and please correct me if I'm wrong ) Diana Fraser (mother of Lachie and James) ended up with custody of Chloe's daughter Olivia and the tug of love was between Irene and Diana. It was a drawn out affair but Diana won in the end and Olivia was very upset as she had grown attached to Irene.

Didn't James come back and say that it was in Chloe's will that she wanted Olivia to be with James and not Diana? I'm confused. Am I thinking of something completely different? :P

The custody woman said that Diana should get Olivia, primarily because she was Olivia's blood. However, at the end of that episode James turned up with Chloe's will which stated that Diana should not be given custody of Olivia and James decided to take Olivia himself. Irene was happy enough this, she just wanted to keep Olivia away from Diana.

Thanks Ryan for the clarification. :P

Also well done with the 20th anniversary feature - thoroughly enjoying reading and reliving the characters and storylines.
