Roman was in the SAS - Special Air Service, it's an elite army unit that is involved in top secret military operations behind enemy lines and that sort of thing. Well that's what the British version does. Oh I have to ask do they have conceal their identity in the Australia too, because in Britain the faces of serving SAS troops aren't allowed to be shown on tv, they are always blurred.

^ Irene left in episode 4825 and came back in episode 4850. That's five weeks. :)

How come Roman and Nicole aren't on the the Aus or British cast list?

I think it's because the staff members haven't had time to create a character profile for them yet or they are busy writing them. :)

Was the guy that signed Jai and Ruby up for something in todays Five episode the pilot from when the helicopter went down in the bush with Belle, Robbie, Martha, Kit and Kim? He's probably not the same character, but is he the same actor?

Yep. The guy that signed Ruby/Jai up for the Surf carnival is John Palmer (Trey's dad) and he's the same actor that played the helicopter crash pilot during the 'trapped in the bush storyline' with Kim, Kit, Belle etc. :)
