When did Seven introduce a sixth weekly episode and what was the thinking behind this?

Hey, they've been playing four days a week for the last few years. They still film in 5 episode blocks though. Originally they were showing double episodes on Thursday nights, then it changed to be, sometimes only 4 episodes a week, sometimes 6. They could even do triple episode bills all week in the lead up to the finale. It's quite random scheduling.

What is the relationship between Seven & Five regards H&A?

Do 7 make the show exactly as they want, or does 5 have any influence over what happens?

Do 5 have a finite contract which is running down to a renewal, or will they screen the show for as long as 7 continue to make it?

I know there was a mudslide.  What exactly happened to the Stewart house?  How exactly was Joel injured?  (Everything is so dark in the episode that I can't see clearly what is going on.)

The mudslide destroyed Alf's house. Ailsa, Duncan,  Shauna and Jade were inside and left under the rubble.

Gavin died trying to save Shauna.

I believe Joel broke his leg?! and this paved the way for Natalie's return and his departure.
