Dan F Posted February 11, 2017 Report Share Posted February 11, 2017 Originally they specifically didn't name the city as they didn't want to pin it down to a particular place in Oz, but that idea didn't really last that long. It soon became pretty clear that it was Sydney. As for why they still just call it 'the city', well that's just familiarity, I live just outside a city and I don't usually call it by name, not many people do, they just say they're going into town. Summer Bay is generally said to be at least a couple of hours away though, so not really considered a part of Sydney like Palmy and the Northern Beaches often are. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
