After the initial blow over the head with the vase Irene didn't think to herself 'I'm going to hit him over the head with this bottle as many times as I can!'  It was his remark that sparked it so it wasn't premeditated.

It was premeditated.  Nobody forced Irene to continue hitting Tommy after she hit him the first time.  He was on the floor, said something she didn't like and she made a decision to hit him multiple times after that.  You might be able to argue it wasn't premeditated if she'd hit him multiple times when he was going after Bella but she didn't.  She hit him once, stopped and decided to bash him some more after his remark.  She's lucky he didn't die else she would have found herself in Teresa's position.

I wondered that about Martha's remark she would know the house from top to bottom so wouldn't need to check the bedroom though of course she could have meant something different all together. and was just being subtle.:blush:

Hey, If she did... She ain't dead yet! (Though pretended to be for the best part of three decades) 🤣

Although the other evidence that the cops found on Tommy's laptop couldn't be produced in court whatever the verdict had been he could have been re-arrested after so he has got away with those and all the girls on it won't get justice.

Why couldn't it? He was arrested for everything, so I'd have thought normal procedure would be to try him on all charges at the same time, so the jury would see the accumulation of evidence, rather than try him for a few here and a few there.Which only adds to the feeling that Teresa was judging it on a very narrow viewpoint.

I certainly agree that Irene would be up on a murder charge if Tommy had died as a result of the attack. It might be minor quibbling but I'm in two minds about whether it could be called premeditated. It seems very different from Teresa seeking out Tommy with a knife intending to kill him with it.If she'd hit him the first time, got Bella out of there, then grabbed the bottle, gone back into the bedroom and started hitting him with it, then I guess you could call that premeditated. But the fact that the assault was an immediate reaction to him trying to get them to keep quiet means I'm not sure it really fits the dictionary definition of premeditated ("planned in advance"). However, I also think that is just semantics: Premeditated or not, it was deliberate and unnecessary.

Today!

Watching the recap, I'm pretty sure it was Willow that pulled away first from the kiss.Still, she seems to have taken it in her stride somewhat. After Colby flops somewhat as a confidante, I was glad that she opened up with first Willow and then Mason (who was awesome again with a small amount of screentime, although again I was disappointed that he didn't go and see Jasmine). It seemed like Alex talked over her a lot in their first chat although Willow did get to have a proper talk with her later, even if it did mostly amount to reiterating what they'd already said. She said she didn't have the kiss, although that doesn't necessarily mean she wants it to happen again.

I found Alf, and to a lesser extent Martha, very irritating at times here.Their initial bickering was fine, but I wasn't keen on the way they were both pestering Ryder and Roo during the practice exam, or the way Alf was suddenly demanding family dinners, especially since it turned out to be because of something he hadn't actually consulted Martha on.

Jasmine really can't catch a break. She and Colby separately figure out that Robbo's missing, but they don't really know much more than that.Jasmine probably would have been better off staying in hospital rather than going running around.

Sorry to keep picking at this but Tommy wasn't on the floor when he made that remark, he could have walked out of there, he couldn't have known what he said would have such a impact on Irene, but he said it and she grabbed the nearest thing to hand, the bottle, if that hadn't been there could have been something else, bare hands even.

I think that is the way the law works, does here so I guess the same applies in Australia.  You often read in cases where someone has been found guilty of a murder, assault, sexual charges they had prior offences.  I think it's done so as not to prejudice the jury as it/they may not be related to the current case.

Willow is somewhat confused, didn't find the kiss that unpleasant but doesn't want  a repeat.  Colby was pretty useless jumping to the conclusion it had to be Mason.  Jasmine even jumped to the conclusion it had to be a bloke when she heard the name Alex until Willow spelt it out for her. No reason at all for either of them to think Alec was gay, maybe they had the stereotypical image of a lesbian being on the butch side and not a good looking woman like Alex. Willow was certainly there for a while it was dark when she left. Mason playing eye tennis when he was stuck in between them could have been awkward but as he knows about Alex maybe he put two and two together and realised something had happened. I noticed Alex didn't let Willow get a word in, but I guess that was embarrassment.  I hope it doesn't spoil their friendship.

Martha and Alf annoyed me too - Alf knows damn well Ryder needs to study for his HSC's, wasn't that what all the argument was about before hand, he does his HSC's he gets his car?  It would have been very distracting for him as he is putting such an effort in.  Demanding everyone sit down to a family dinner makes it a very stilted affair with everyone on edge.   I don't think it's a new idea using old exam papers to get an idea of what may be asked this year.  Alf does tend to steam on ahead without letting anyone what he's up to and why.

Jasmine's instincts were spot on Robbo would have contacted her by now, certainly wouldn't have left it  a whole night, especially as he hadn't told her where he was going and what he was doing.   Came as a  shock she and Robbo were leaving the country which made her more anxious.  Unless we didn't see it Irene didn't say much about her trial or what happened after, maybe not wanting to offload all that on Jas' shoulders. Of course in true soap/drama a nurse, like a doctor, turns out to be a more difficult patient than your average person.   A thought shouldn't Robbo have had someone watch his back - Jasmine's got her body guard.   In  a normal world yes Jasmine should have stayed where she was but this is H&A and she is Jasmine!  Got  a glimpse of Robbo in  a cage somewhere.  Did Robbo drop his phone at the cemetery if so wouldn't the cops be able to track it down?

It wasn't a prior offence though, it was part of the same case. Tommy hadn't been convicted in the past and served his sentence, so he would have been tried on all the charges at the same time.

Anyway! Having stayed strong throughout her own ordeal, Jasmine goes into meltdown over what's happening to Robbo. It's odd, I've been extremely critical of Tori this year, but I did smile a bit when we saw her for the first time in ages so I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder. It is good that Tori, Jasmine and Scott are all together rather than being stuck on their own, but it seems almost insanely dangerous to take Jasmine out there given that she was followed the last time they tried something like this and given that we were told outright that she and Robbo couldn't go back there after leaving.I guess we're meant to accept Robbo's comment last week that Des and co will be lying low after their near capture.Colby showed unusual insight in suspecting someone else was behind Robbo going missing.Meanwhile, even more than last week, Mackenzie is starting to seem like an ordinary person utterly lost in the drama that everyone else is taking for granted. She needs to get used to it: Welcome to Crazy Town.

I was disappointed that Irene and Bella had a lot of screen time together yet there was no direct mention of Tommy's death. The reference to him suddenly having family (Who were where when he spent weeks lying in hospital unidentified..?) feels like another missed opportunity. If we'd seen them, whoever they are, then it might have provided the necessary contrast to Teresa and Bella thinking his life didn't matter, by showing it mattered to someone. But it's such a throwaway reference they might as well not have bothered. And now the other members of the coven know Leah's shut her vlog down, I'm hoping they don't somehow persuade her to take it up again.

So, with only the rest of this week and next week to go, could that be the last us UK viewers see of Alf this year? I feel a bit sorry for Roo, who got shoved out of the way last week when she wanted to spend time with Martha, but she doesn't seem to mind and it's probably best that the love birds get out from under her and Ryder's feet until exams are over.

I thought Tommy was just going to be  tried for his attack on Bella and the photos he had of her? The other girls photos wouldn't haven't been part of it.  But it's academic now - though that was news he had a family and they wouldn't be pursuing the civil case and where were they during Irene's trial?

Poor Jas, she had a right royal meltdown, run out of adrenaline which had been keeping her going.  I like Willow was there for her, having Irene there would have been too much for her.  Colby got it in the neck for not doing enough, but he's only a small town cop, if the Feds can't trace Robbo what chance does he have?  Only luck he was able to get their location last time.  It brings me back to the fact that as Robbo's mobile was/is still active how come the Feds can't track it by triangulating it's position?  Colby can be a wise cop at times and it's certainly something for the Feds to think of, mind you we already know who's got him.  We finally get to meet him properly tonight.  I had a thought - maybe Carter has another reason for taking Robbo, he would blame him for Kat's death seeing as they were fleeing the bay when they crashed with Jasmine. She had been his ex but when they were together he had mentally and physically abused her and was obsessed with her and there were suspicions he was involved in the corruption case. But I could be barking up the completely  wrong tree there.

Seems Penny McNamee hasn't gone on maternity leave yet as her and Jasmine were reunited and Scott has recovered enough to be back on duty.

Leah could have warned Irene she had taken her site down and her reasons were understandable, they both need to move on from the whole thing and look to the future.  Don't fret there will be another cause Leah will get involved in.  It seemed from what she said Iren will be cutting back on her visits to the support group but still see her counsellor.

Mack is finding out what it truly is like to date a  cop, true it's been full on with the whole Feds thing and it's not normally like that, but even on a 'normal' day a small town cop can get injured or killed just by stopping the wrong guy for a traffic violation. Not everyone is cut out to be a cop's girlfriend/boyfriend, but she needs to talk to Colby and if she is really sure she couldn't cope she ought to finish with him and not let it drag on. Bella was being ultra protective there, Colby is a big boy and could handle the truth of why Mack is, maybe, going to dump him.  Ah yes that quiet little town as Alex called it.

Just as it seemed Ben was on the way up the latest news from the AFP has knocked him back again -  guy at the Indonesian end of things isn't gong to get Ben out of his fix.  John did his best after a fashion,  it was a good idea by him suggesting Ziggy offer free surf lessons, but she should have told Ben then he wouldn't have felt he was being treated as a charity case when John innocently mentioned it in Salt after Dean had handed him the money for helping.

Alf and Martha came to an understanding and are going on their road trip.

Maggie: I'm not a biology teacher but I'm sure that's physically imposbbile!

(No prizes for guessing WHAT the person ON THE other end said 🤣🤣🤣)

And if I'm evil wanting to see Robbo wring Carter's neck like a chicken, then I do not apologize!

Tommy was arrested on two counts of possessing child pornography (in addition to the crimes against Bella), and Leah mentioned the other girls not getting justice either, so yes, it was all part of it.

I have sympathy for Bella, this is the second time she’s got attached to a big sister figure only for them to potentially bail. She is overreacting though and I’m rather worried about her, it’s tempting to suggest that Tommy’s murder has caused her to regress a bit. Her comments on Colby at the end of Tuesday’s episode were a bit mechanical, as if she doesn’t really believe it but she has to tell herself that. And her insistence that Colby is a good man just provoked hollow laughter because he really isn’t. Chelsea left him because he’s a murderer, Mackenzie would probably do the same if she knew, and so would just about everyone else in Summer Bay except his old mates from Mangrove River who are as screwed up as him. Which isn’t entirely relevant because that’s not why Mackenzie’s having doubts. I’m glad Dean stuck up for her but he also has a point that she needs to decide quickly whether this is for her.

It felt like everyone mishandled Ben again, and there’s no point trying to blame him for everything. Dean has taken his eye off the ball after offering him a job, and even though it wasn’t as bad as Ben thought, Ziggy trying to come up with a job for him was a dangerous strategy. The biggest fail though goes to Maggie: What was she thinking? It backfired badly last time she tried tough love. All that helplines and counselling and she still doesn’t get that you can’t bully someone out of depression? Ziggy could tell she’d just made him feel worse, while Dean doesn’t quite get it.

Irene annoyed me greatly, resorting to Leah’s favourite rhetoric of “Don’t let Tommy win.” That’s Tommy who’s lying in the morgue having been brutally murdered? If anyone’s a winner in this, it’s definitely not him. It’s a shame she wasn’t honest about her reasons, but I’m glad Leah’s stuck to her decision. Was it her or Justin that was booking a B&B for the other not so long ago? Looks like a rain check again with another visit from Ava, an indefinite one this time. I was worried when John and Marilyn zeroed in on her that they’d found another Morgan to take over with, but given Marilyn gave her the brush off later, apparently not. It is nice to see John and Marilyn get some stuff on their own after years of obsessing over Raffy though. Did we ever get a scene between Raffy and Ava during her last visit? A missed opportunity if not.

And yes, after loads of promos spoiling it, Dylan Carter finally appears in an actual episode. And I did cheer as Robbo turned the tables and pushed all his buttons with regards Kat. She thought Robbo was worse than he was and Carter was better than he was, but Robbo was still the one she was willing to risk everything for. That’s gotta hurt.

I must have missed the other two counts I thought it was just what he had on Bella and what he tried to do to her.  Maybe not just Colby Bella is protecting but herself as well. Chelsea was a cop herself so knew the risks involved, it was what Colby had done - killing Ross - that did for them.

I think Irene meant not letting what Tommy had done  affect Bella's and her future even if he is dead,  actually that makes it worse., he won't know they have progressed despite him.

Maggie has tried everything, being there for him, backing off,  soft love, tough love - until we are in that position I imagine it would be hard to know what to do, every case is different,  Ben is a proud man, used to providing for his family the best he could, not being  able to, through no fault of his own, has to be soul destroying. If anyone could have understood I would have though it would have been Dean - Karen's problems were more extreme but related in a way.

Luckily the holidays are coming up otherwise it'd screw up Ava's schooling, I guess she had been taken out of school?  Justin did say it could be weeks or even months  that's she'd be staying with them. I think Ava and Raffy had one or two scenes last time, it must seem to her everyone is going, but she's still got Mason. I worried about Marilyn getting too involved with Ava, but she wisely held back, she and John need time on their own and it does give them both the opportunity to go and see Jett.  We know from that one sided phone call Raffy is doing OK and not at all bothered she isn't doing her HSC's,

Hold your horses CaptainHulk we want to see Robbo taunt him a bit further yet.  For once we didn't have to wait until the end of the episode to see Carter either.  Very understated introduction from him - "I heard you were looking for me, well here I am". Carter seemed sure it was the Feds that had sent Robbo, well they are interested in him, but it's  Devlin who really wants him, what, apart from the fact Carter is treading on his toes, has he also done to upset him.   Carter said he'd enjoyed being 'dead' but he must have heard about Sean Coulson telling the other side he was alive and decided  to 'rise from the dead',  be interesting to know the history between Carter and Devlin.  Oh yes Robbo he did push the right buttons there.:D  Carter didn't love Kat he was obsessed by her she left him for a reason, well more than one.  The fact she had compromised herself by helping Robbo escape really did it, she hadn't done it for him as she didn't love him enough. It did result in her death though which Carter blames Robbo for as I thought he would.   A chance remark from Colby finally sets the Feds, well Scott, on the right track, Colby saying Robbo said he had some farewells to make, set off the light bulb in Scott's head, getting him to alert the guys to go the  cemetery where Robbo's family were buried, where they found fresh flowers and blood.  Colby also saw what Jasmine saw, photo's of Robbo's family which even for a cop would be very upsetting.

I laughed at Justin talking about missing work, he doesn't go anyway  and at Mason's beer magically appearing without either of them ordering it 🤣
