I remember the three you mentioned above, but honestly, I can't see any real difference between Colby and them other than he's a main character (and therefore unfortunately is protected by the writers) or that he's not a woman abuser, he shows the same disrespect for the law as they did and they each involved themselves in criminal activity for their own means. So yeah, Colby has to be the worst main-character police officer that we've seen, with Kat not far behind, in my opinion.

I wouldn't put Colby in any of their league. All of them set out to commit crimes including murder pre-meditated whereas, correct me if I'm wrong, Colby has never really planned to commit a serious crime, he just has an extremely bad moral compass that causes him to makes a split second decision to do the wrong thing and not even feel any real guilt afterwards. So yes, he's definitely the worst main character police officer.

Alf's episode count this week:Two, which it seems is the last we'll see of him for a while.

Well, one episode in and I'm loving Leah and Justin. It's fun and it's passionate and it's also a pretty good match.A part of me wants to say it's out of character for Leah to attempt a casual relationship but you know what? She's had three marriages, and at least three or four serious relationships, all from a young age, and now with VJ grown up and left home and Ryder basically able to take care of himself as long as someone restocks the fridge every now and then, I can well imagine her deciding to cut loose and just have some fun, and they're friends so they know the other person's not going to turn out to be a stalker.Justin took an awfully long time to realise Leah was kidding about it being serious, but also seems more keen than her to have a more formal arrangement.Experience dictates that sooner or later one or both of them will want more than casual, and I'm reminded that Justin couldn't really manage it with Willow when they were first together.

John did a good job of keeping things calm and gathering what information he could, although in the end, whilst Marilyn's worst fears didn't quite come true, you knew as soon as someone turned up in person that it had to be bad news.Flying Jett to Germany seems a bit random, was that really the nearest safe place to Aghanistan?Or is there a specialist there or something?

There seem to be some odd timing issues at play.Leah greets everyone at the Diner with "Morning!" even though she was meant to be doing the afternoon shift, while Bella talks as though she saw Simone at school earlier even though it's the same day as when she was away.(Also, Raffy didn't seem to at either the Palmers' or the Morgans', unless she was in bed at the end.Er, maybe she went to the movies with Mason?)Dean is now well and truly addicted, suffering withdrawals when he doesn't go without the pills for a while. As frightening an experience as it was for her, if Dean had succeeded in taking Bella to where Ross is buried, it might not have been the worst thing.

Being anti-feminist is going and then coming back because she needs a man. Alf's episode count this week:None. However, it's finale week so things go typically crazy: Jasmine was in every episode

Women still look hot past their 20's/30's 😋 but yeah she's a very good looking woman!

I am liking her with Justin at the moment, nice to see him with someone nearer his age.

True, Wouldn't say no to Liz Hurley at 53!😀

But it's rare we actually see Leah at the beach, in a cossie, no less, so I'm appreciating that :) Most of the time she's running round the diner like a blue-arsed fly or milling around Summer Bay House.

Other issues

Dean... Hauling teenage girl against her will off into the night could have gone HORRIBLY wrong, all someone would have to  do is get on the blower, McCarthy drops his donut and is there in a shot! (I'm aware there are cops just pulled his name out of a hat)

Brody, you damn fool.

If Jett does come back after this, I'm wondering if we'll get scenes of him jumping every time a car backfires or popcorn pops? (PTSD can have a profound effect on soldiers) or be turned out like Patrick

Colby in the main has been a good cop, it's just where Ross was concerned his perspective went awry and initially his main concern was to find and rescue Belle,  Ross was a side issue, very wishful thinking but if Ross had left well alone Colby would have left him alone.  His shooting Ross was  a split second decision and if it was just him involved he'd turn himself in, but there's Bella, she has lost her mum, dad and then she'd lose her brother. Dean is a grown up and made his own choice to get involved though that is back firing on him really badly but being a 'tough guy' is keeping it to himself so struggling to cope - what the hell is in those pills - they should be causing him to hallucinate.  Bella is bound to have questions to what Dean was raving about, can think of easier ways of Bella finding out about Ross.

John was great, he must have been just as anxious as Marilyn, but as you said Red, he was playing it calmly. There's been debate on whether it was wise Marilyn having that news link but in a way she and John were prepared to hear bad news and the knock on the door wasn't totally unexpected rather them sitting there having a relaxing evening when that knock came.  I wouldn't want that guys job for any money.  Australia is five hours thirty minutes ahead of Kabul btw - random I know, but helps with us knowing about them keeping in contact. I'm assuming Kabul or anywhere near doesn't have anything near the specialist unit they need for Jett so hence the airlift to Germany.  Be a while I guess till Marilyn, John the rest of the bay and us know how bad his injuries are, if life changing it'd mean the end of his Army before it's even begun, which will devastate him as he had his heart set on being in the Army, plus as CaptainHulk said there could be PTSD but, not that I'm ruling it out, Jett has only been out there a couple of weeks so maybe wouldn't have seen anything too traumatic.

I tell you I'm sure the bay is in some sort of time warp at times - I was confused when Leah said morning when she walked in the Diner it had to be noon at least.  Ditto with Bella saying she had seen Simone.   Maggie was quiet but diplomatic with her reply  when Bella told her she had been trying to call Simone but she wasn't answering.

The only light moments came with Justin & Leah, I loved her teasing of him, must admit she had me going for a while,  at the moment it is just fun both of them unattached, not much baggage. Didn't he and Phoebe start off as casual?

Despite Justin's best efforts it seems like Raffy finds out about Brody and Simone the way she was laying into her in the trailer!

Okay, maybe putting Colby in the same league was extreme of me, because as you said, Colby's actions weren't pre-meditated unlike the others, and he has shown some likeable qualities last year. But however, recently he's shown this cold remorseless attitude that he's above the law, almost just as the same at the real bad cops like Turner. That's where I was coming from, but i guess I was over the top there.

Maybe he's reacting that way because to show his real emotions would cause him to crack up and he has Bella to think of.  Owning up would mean going to prison and leaving her alone.  Turner was a different case altogether she'd spent years perfecting her craft getting others to do her dirty work, not that she wasn't above hurting people personally.

Well, I'm sure they all had loved ones and reasons for doing what they did: George Watson was trying to provide for a disabled daughter, Corey and Turner wanted revenge for their fathers' deaths, even Carter was messed up by his son's death.I wouldn't say it was a split second decision either: Colby took a very long time mulling over the options and eventually came down on "Yeah, I want to kill him." As for Dean, some of it's been his choice and he's made wrong calls of his own (notably choosing to burn the evidence and hide the body), but he didn't choose to have Colby murder someone in front of him, in fact he begged him not to.

But anyway, here we are, with a very confused Bella and a rather self-centred Colby.I feel like I should be acknowledging him supporting Dean through this, but it's hard to see his motives as entirely selfless when he's clearly at least partly concerned with making sure Dean continues to play ball rather than doing something that could land him in it (as he has done at least three times).Again, there's the feeling that Colby doesn't quite understand the concept of Dean feeing guilt, because he doesn't see why they should.

It's slightly frustrating that in the midst of all this we get a sign of how Dean can be, as he gave Ziggy some spot-on advice. This "secret" is increasingly seeming like anything but:Leah knows, Dean knows, Leah and Ben even seemed to openly discuss it in front of John (although he may have been too out of it to register). So I really hope Tori and Raffy aren't going to be the last to know! Ironically Brody did make the same points as Dean earlier, but Ben was right, he was in no position to make demands, and it was Ziggy's choice not to speak to him, not Ben and Maggie's.Ziggy's perhaps fortunate that she managed to get her grief at the end of her marriage out of her system in private, so she could face Brody strongly at the end.

Not much more information on Jett, but I guess it's realistic that there wouldn't be.I have to agree with Marilyn here, they're better off heading over there than sitting by the phone even further away from him than they were when he was in Afghanistan, even if it might mean a delay in getting information.I'd hope John's "It doesn't work like that" isn't true: They can certainly go to Germany, and I'd hope they'd be allowed onto the base to see him.

Colby did ask both Willow and Dean why they hadn't said anything to him about the problems Dean was having and they both said he had enough on his plate so he can't be blamed for acting unconcerned about everything if he didn't know, he didn't know Karen had been to see Dean. Even Willow didn't know about the letter to McCarthy,  the angle grinder and the post box!   Whatever is in those tablets it's certainly more than stuff to make you sleep!  All  three had to do some pretty quick thinking to fend off Bella's questions.  Colby has only been back in the job five minutes now he's gone to a motel with Dean, not our usual one by the looks of it,  for a few days to help him go cold turkey.  Colby did consider not shooting Ross and very nearly didn't, was about to drop the gun but Ross couldn't keep his mouth shut.

As you said Red, in the midst of all his troubles he goes to check on Ziggy which I thought was very sweet.  he did have good advice but even when he was giving it my thoughts were pot, kettle, black Dean and Ziggy gave it back by more or less saying he should practice what he preached which he did heed and confessed to Willow and Colby what he had been going through. I was puzzled too as to who knew what had happened with Brody & Ziggy, Leah obviously via Justin, it appeared Dean did hence aforementioned visit to Ziggy who said when he arrived about him bring one of the thousands that knew her & Brody's business. From what we saw of tonight's episode it Tori didn't know - how's that work?

That was sad Ziggy looking at the photos of her and Brody wondering if he loved her back then - well I think he did.  Hopefully they will be able to have a calm - well calmish - conversation.

Definitely not looking good for Jett, I guess the chaplain could only tell Marilyn & John what he has been told, news is second hand for him first not having been at the base and now not at the hospital in Germany and third hand for Marilyn & John. I suppose that is the military for you only giving out the minimum of information. There fact Jett  is in an  induced coma suggests a head injury.  Marilyn will feel better just being in the same area as Jett even if she and John  aren't allowed to see him at first.  Guess Raffy will be staying at home aka the Morgan's, I hope she has been told about Jett, even if she didn't know him that well. If Alf was around he'd be just as concerned as he thinks a lot of Jett and even if he and John aren't bosom buddies, he'd support him and Maz.

Leah's decision to have just a casual relationship, I think, is a good decision, and given her past relationships, I think she deserves to have a bit of fun, though Justin may not want to keep to that arrangement for long. I hope that neither starts having feelings for each other, not because I don't like the idea of them together, but rather it's great if we can see a casual relationship without one or both falling for each other.

Colby... just no. The fact that he's more concerned about what Dean told Bella in his trance and his confession letter more than his supposed best mate's mental state just makes me wonder why Dean has been covering for him all these years. And who gives him the right to take the moral high ground on Dean's drug taking when he's the one who put a fellow human being in the ground?! Also, I've been thinking, Dean's been telling Colby that he didn't tell him about it because apparently, he had 'enough on his plate,' but does anyone think Dean didn't tell him because now he's afraid of Colby. Ever since the murder, Dean has looked really uncomfortable when talking to Colby. The fact that at the end when Colby stayed silence while Willow was trying to convince Dean to get professional help speaks volumes. Yeah, Dean is now undoubtedly addicted, and even though things would be better if he did drag Bella to Ross's corpse, he really needs help.  I did enjoy his scene with Ziggy though, being a real supportive friend. You really have to feel for Ziggy at the house with the photos of her marriage, though I'm not sure whether she's ready to face Brody yet. Again, Ben while angry, was remarkably restrained against Brody.

While terrible news about Jett, and I do feel so bad (for the first time in a long time) for both John and Marilyn, I do find it a bit odd that Germany is the closest place for Jett to receive treatment. All the same, it's a good idea of Marilyn to go there. It would give Jett some comfort, as well as perhaps for the two of them.

What? He has made it very clear that he thinks he has nothing to feel sorry about, and there's no indication that the murder is affecting him in any way unlike Dean, other than the break up of his marriage. Also, while Colby in prison would be tough for Bella, I won't dispute that, she'd still have Dean and Willow, whom Colby has asked before if he was to go down for murder to look after her, as well as a lot of others, like Irene or even Simone, who would help.

I'm sorry, but it is almost impossible for anyone of them to see that Dean wasn't suffering. And the fact is that Colby has not checked in with Dean except when talking to him about covering their tracks. And about him apparently having too much on his plate, well you can see my comments on that above.
