Name coincidences with other shows etc.

In 1988, H&A had a Barlow family as well as characters called Don and Sally. As did Corrie.

While they have different surnames, I always get Alf Roberts from Corrie and Alf Stewart mixed up. I keep thinking H&A's Alf is Alf Roberts and Corrie's Alf is Alf Stewart. Also they are/were both grumpy grocers as well.

The Bill had a character called Marilyn Chambers for a while.

This one really baffles me as Mariyln is one of the most iconic characters in H&A, even back then when The Bill's Mariyln was around, so the producers must have realised ?

I could understand them coincidentally creating a character of the same name who wasn't that memorable (i.e. Viv Newton or Aaron Wells), but not Mariyln Chambers.

One of the Duckworths' grandchildren in Coronation Street is called Brad Armstrong, predating the Home and Away version by several years.

Next to the Grant Mitchell coincidence, the most astonishing one in my opinion is Home and Away introducing a character called Martin "Ash" Ashford, the name of a pretty iconic Casualty character who was even on the show at the time! (He initially appeared from 1990 to 1996, made a guest appearance in 1998, then returned full-time for a less-memorable stint from February 2013 to December 2014.)

One of the names in the credits of the early years of Home and Away was "Anne Reynolds", I automatically thought of Ann Reynolds from Prisoner.

Wait, aren't there name coincidences with Prisoner and Home and Away?
