c120701 Posted June 2, 2016 Report Share Posted June 2, 2016 I think a lot of the reason for Joel's lack of personality is that I think at that point the show didn't really appreciate the adults as characters. If he'd stuck around in 2000 then I think we'd have seen more of a personality, and we did in a way in his scenes around the time of Sally's non-wedding.
