ter06 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Some thought's on what I've seen so far. Ronan and Natalie seem to work best as judges and I am looking forward to seeing Natalie step in for Dannii on our version this weekend. I dont like Kyle, he is just trying too hard to be like Simon Cowell and the way he rips up the contestants sheet if they havent done well really annoys me, it's just plain rude. I dont see the point of Guy on the panel to be honest. I think they've worked around the whole Matthew Newton being gone at the last minute thing really really well and it has been edited good. Dont know if any of you are familiar with our format but when the contestants come off stage, Matthew would have been outside with the family ready to talk to the contestant. You will notice this next season and how well they did it. The format is the exact same as ours, from the opening credits (except our X doesnt land in Australia obviously!) to the stage and the judge's desk. The sob stories will get quite annoying after a while, believe me!! The ratings will get better, ours premiered to 11 million but will probably rise to 20 million for the final, when The X Factor takes over the country and it is all anybody wants to talk about. Overe here, pubs are absolutely dead in winter until The X Factor is over. People tend to have X Factor parties and go out afterwards. I think if the show was on once a week then the ratings might be better. It's hard work holding an audience over five nights and even trying to build on it. Ours is on once a week for auditions, and twice a week from bootcamp on. (Saturday, then Saturda/Sunday).
georgie Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I dont see the point of Guy on the panel to be honest. Guy won the first Australian Idol show and has had success in Australia - if anything, he is the judge with the most reason to be on the panel! Yes, Ronan is succesful, I don't know how much in Australia, but people would argue he's not Australian. Natalie hasn't exactly had a great deal of success in the recent years. And Kyle... well, no comment. He is vile. Am loving the show so far though and can't wait for Luke's role to really kick in. Anyone know where the live shows are filmed here in Melbourne? Thanks in advance!
halcyon06 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Am I the only person in the world that likes Kyle Sandilands?
georgie Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Am I the only person in the world that likes Kyle Sandilands? Quite possibly lol!
halcyon06 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Am I the only person in the world that likes Kyle Sandilands? Quite possibly lol! Well I guess since I'm not in Australia I dont know as much about him as you! But I've tuned into his show on the web a few times and he seems pretty funny, no? And why do people hate Jackie?
Lise Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 I watched one of the episodes and I really like all of the judges, Kyle included. I don't know much about him but he was really good. I thought that Guy did good job.
irish_angel Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Am I the only person in the world that likes Kyle Sandilands? I saw him on one season of Australia Idol and i thought he was great
lino Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 he might be rude but i find Kyle funny. i do enjoye watching him. Natalie tries to much to be like Dannii or Cheryl for my liking. Guy does a amazing job. The only one i find not usefull is Ronan. In my opinion the best judge is Guy.
ter06 Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 I am surprised at how much I am enjoying this. I am finding it way better than our own version and am hooked on it!
~Lynd~ Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 I don't think i'll get into it properly until the live shows start.I find auditions and such really boring. I love Kyle.I think some people take him to seriously. Love Guy to.I don't know if any of you remember the song ''Art Of Love'' from the HAA promo's but he sings that.I think the point of him is he comes from something similar so knows what they're going through. And he's successful in Australia.More so then Natalie and Ronan I think.
