In fact, the impossibly beautiful 18-year-old - who has secured a role in Seven Network soap Home And Away - fondly recalls the first time she saw her uncle's work. "He was just always Uncle Hugo. He still is," she says. "I remember the first time I was watching Priscilla: Queen Of The Desert and I was like, 'Oh that's what he does!' " Weaving told The Sunday Telegraph. "I was a really shy kid. My parents were worried that I wasn't making friends at school and so they enrolled me in a drama class, and I just loved it after that." Moving to Sydney from Canberra at the end of Year 12 last year, Weaving says her uncle had helped her settle into her new surrounds" "He's been great and very supportive - it always helps having family and friends when you move somewhere new." Weaving will play troubled teen Indigo Walker when she debuts on Home And Away next month. Producers are likening her to former cast member Isabel Lucas, who has since found fame in Hollywood. Lucas was recently seen in the second Transformers film and in the Steven Spielberg-Tom Hanks TV production The Pacific. Weaving previously worked on the Australian-UK co-production Out Of The Blue, which was axed after one season. "It's a bit easier this time around as I don't have to fit in work and my studies on top of that," Weaving says. "Everyone has been so welcoming (she had a brief stint on Home And Away in 2009) and it's a great place to work - except when you have to wear a bikini on Palm Beach in the middle of winter." Weaving said while she was committed to the soap, like her uncle she would one day like to switch to film. Formerly Known as FKAJ Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Strange article, given that it refers to her Home and Away debut moments before reminding us of her 2009 stint. I guess she's been promoted to series regular now, but still. I quite liked her and I always thought her family's arc was over too quickly. I'm optimistic.
