There was an even bigger age gap between Marilyn and Donald (27 years, reportedly) so it's in character.

I think it was 23 or 24 years as Donald was born in 1945 and Marilyn in 1968 or 1969. But I do get the point you're making though.

I totally agree as well. Marilyn and John make a fantastic couple. They're humorous, loveable but also serious when the need arises.

Whenever I've tuned in over the past 12 months I've found John, Jett and Marilyn engaging and well written, they are the best characters in the current show Imo It's still not enough for me to tune in daily because I can't be bothered sitting through the rest of it, but I think they've got it right pairing John and Marilyn up.

I know tons of Ozzie soap stars have come over here, but mainly for panto

or as in Kylie and Danni s case... to make their pop careers.

Cant think of anyone doing what Emily did.... a long term part in Emmerdale ....

Was the age gap between Don and Maz ever stated in the show do we know? I dont remember it being stated, just Don being said to be old enough to be her father. Obviously both their ages were mentioned at other times before they wed. The only mention of Flatty's age was in Feb 1995 and Maz's age was about 1990.

^ Well the last sentence of your post summarises the way the to work out the age difference between Don and Marilyn by doing some mathematical problem-solving.

That's how viewers have worked it out otherwise the age gap between Don and Marilyn as a couple was never explicitly stated from memory unless someone can correct me on that.

23 years then. Rather than just guess the age gap as Jezz said, just do some maths and voila. Rather than guess or look on the often unreliable Wikipedia, if their ages have been stated at different times the you can work out the ages.

John is only about 7 years older so is much more her age than Donald is. I think Palmer was born in 1962. He'll be 52 this year. I would love to be work for H&A as a series historian .

Happy quarter of a century as Maz, even if not in the show continuously since 1989. Little did anyone know in May 1989 that Maz would still be treading the boards 25 years later in May 2014.
