Sorry!!

"Faith honey, calm down!" said Belle, as she came down the stairs, Matt in her arms, to find her daughter wolfing down her cereal.

"I can't Mum," said Faith, desperately, running to the sink and filling the bowl with water. "My first exam is this morning, I over slept and I'm going to be friggin' late!!"

"Ok, ok, chill," said Belle, taking Faith's hand. "It's not good to freak out. Your going to be on time. Matt and I will run you to school, won't we baby?"

Matt gurgled.

Faith relaxed, taking in a deep breath.

"Thanks Mum, I owe you one!" she said.

"You don't owe me anything honey," said Belle, carefully lying Matt down in his carrier seat. "I'm your Mother. This is my job!"

"I thought you said your job was to scream at me when I forget to empty the dishwasher," said Faith, grinning shrewdly as she followed her mother out the door.

Belle grinned back at her wickedly.

"That too!"

"Class please prepare yourself," said Miles, as the final students, including Faith, filed into the classroom.

"Your test shall begin in five minutes!"

There was a quick rush for seats and the classroom fell silent as Miles gazed at them sternly.

"May I remind you all how serious we take cheating in this school," he warned them.

"It is a violation of school conduct and whoever so cheats will be severly punished."

He turned away from the class, to pull out of his drawer a brown envelope.

Faith's heart skipped a beat.

The first of one of the most important tests of her life was in that envelope.

She felt her pulse race and remembered what her Mum had said to her.

She took a deep breath to steady herself.

Silently, Miles pulled the tests out of the envelope and handed them out to the class.

Opening the booklet, Faith started the question.

Name three Shakesperean dramas, including the plot of each and the main characters.

Faith smiled to herself and began scribbling down the answer, confidently.

Let me know what you think!!

Chapter 42

The sun was shining.

Belle was lying on her back on the beach.

In the background, she could hear children laughing as they splashed around in the water.

The sun was beating down on her face, and it was warmth.

Belle smiled as she soaked it up.

But then she felt the cold, the sun was gone.

She opened her eyes to see Aden standing over her blocking the sun.

Before she could object, he leaned down and kissed her passionately.

She smiled at him suspiciously as he pulled away.

"Just a last goodbye," he whispered, straightening up again.

Belle frowned as she watch him walk away.

He kept looking back and smiling at her, but never stopped.

He eventually went straight into the water, the waves gentle.

When the water was up to his waist, he turned away to face Belle.

She could barely see him now, he was so far out.

She stood up and waved at him.

He smiled and blew her a kiss, then dived under water.

She waited a few minutes, expecting him to come back up again.

He didn't re - appear.

Standing up, Belle walked down the beach.

Still he didn't resurface.

Panicking down, she began to run, crashing into the water, searching desperately.

She went further and further, until the water was up to her neck.

She took a deep breath, dived in and searched frantically.

She came up several times for breath, but kept diving, kept searching, never stopping.

Finally she stopped, looking out across the ocean, still hoping to see him.

But he wasn't there.

Her heart raced.

He was gone.

But he couldn't be gone.

But he was.

Giving into the pain, she screamed.

Belle jumped up as the nightmare woke her up.

Looking suddenly to Aden's side of the bed, she was relieved to him lying, facing her, sound asleep, his chest rising and falling rhythemically.

She tried to stead her breathing by lying down again and trying to match his.

The third time this week she had that same nightmare.

Belle was convinced it was trying to tell her something, she just didn't know what.

And frankly if it was scaring her in her dreams that much, she didn't want to know what the reality would be like.

Getting up out of bed, she walked over to Matt's cot.

Peering in, she saw him sleeping peacefully.

He liked his sleep, just like his Daddy.

Reaching in, Belle ran her fingers down his soft cheek.

He squirmed and rolled over, his soft green eyes opening up and staring at her brightly.

"Did I wake you baby, I'm sorry," she murmered, rocking the cot gently. "Go back to sleep."

But Matt seemed well awake now and didn't appear to have any plans to go back to sleep.

Belle would have tried again when she heard a cupboard closing downstairs noisingly.

Looking over at Aden quickly, she saw he was still asleep.

Not even a thunderstorm would wake him, thought Belle.

Taking Matt into her arms, she left the room, and closed the door quietly.

With Aden still asleep upstairs, Belle had time to do her favourite hobby.

Cleaning.

She cleaned everything.

Under the sink, the back of the fridge, each individual tile on the floor.

It was her chill out zone.

Well, her second chill out zone.

Snuggling up with Aden on the sofa at night, after Matt had gone to bed, was her number one chill out zone.

Belle smiled to herself just thinking about it.

Matt appeared greatly amused by his mother's bizarre hobbie.

He watched imperiously as she pulled on rubber gloves and a pink apron and got to work around the kitchen.

It didn't bother him.

With a bottle in his mouth, he was good to go.

Aden didn't come downstairs till well into the afternoon.

The sun shone in through the open windows, lighting up his bare, toned chest.

Belle paused for a minute as he walked over to her, marvelling the sight.

He was like her own greek god.

Who needed heaven when Aden was around?

"Morning gorgeous," he said, walking over and kissing her forehead.

"Morning," said Belle brightly.

Aden looked around the kitchen.

"Did you become bored again?"

Belle tried to glare at him but failed as he flashed her favourite smile.

"Yes," she admitted sheepishly. "But what else is there to do when your not awake!"

"Well babe, if you wanted that kinda stuff, you could have woken me up at anytime!" said Aden, placing his hands on her hips, claiming her lips passionately.

As he pulled away, Belle rested her forehead against his.

"I've a question for you," she said.

"What's that?" he asked, his eyes closed as he soaked up the moment.

"What's weetabix doing on the ceiling?"

Let me know what you think!
