The layout really is similar, thanks for that...I wonder what the reason was for changing the location... I think it would be really beneficial to have it used again and utilize the garden area and beach, though I can imagine it wouldn't be as easy as that what with the permission required etc I think the last time we did actually see the outside of the house, though I could be wrong, was in 1999 after James banned Diana from seeing Olivia, she was standing on the beach staring at the house, Irene and Chloe watching her threw the blinds, then Chloe went out and they came to a understanding after Diana broke down about loosing Lachie. Ah thanks for that, I should hopefully have that episode so I'll have to have a look to see if I can get a cap - I didn't realise they'd used it that late on, so it does sound as though it was probably the last time. Obviously the one scene that everyone remembers is when Saul kidnapped Selina on the way to her wedding. The location was on the market a couple of years ago so it should have new owners now - Seven should certainly knock on the door and see if they're interested! Oh cool! I've only seen it briefly in a couple of stock shots, but not properly. I wonder if the interior would actually fit into it!? I guess it can pass in a stock shot, but if you look at it for any longer you start to realise that things don't really match up - another Leah situation with there being no room for the room at the bottom of the stairs (unless the right hand doors lead to that), and of course it doesn't help when they show the nighttime shot and you can clearly see the interior of the real house. Still, if they were that desperate to change locations, they could have done worse I guess - just doesn't have the same feel as the old one... You're right, a brief glance and you'd not notice (and new viewers who don't remember the original wouldn't know any difference obviously) but it really doesnt match up to the interior does it. but they could at least have dressed the doors with blinds as the interior is, that way they;'d have got away with a night time shot whatever the real interior is like - even on the daytime shot you can see it has no blinds and the interior is different lol. very sloppy continuity I think. I still don't understand why theyd need a new stock shot really (same goes for Leah) since they don't film anything there. They've made do with a stock shot of Summer Bay House and a variety of caravan park locations (with varying success) for nearly 10 years, the reason for the caravan park sites being that they film there. If whoever is in charge of locations is looking at this thread, please go back to the original location and shoot some new cool HD shots of it, even if it was a one off and they were unable to get permission to actually use the location for filming within the episodes, it would be much better to have some cool new stock shots of the original house (the one that actually fits and the interior was based around) - plus it really would add to that beachy Summer Bay charm... My thoughts exactly - especially now they've been making a big thing of filming all these new fancy sweeping aerial stock views of the beach, the diner etc etc wouldn't it be fab to see the old beach house from the air?! they could be more creative if they put their mind to it. Aerial shots of the old location would indeed be great, but I imagine it could be pretty impossible given all the trees surrounding it Just some of Clareville beach itself could be good though. That's a fair point lol viewers would be puzzled by a stock shot of trees i think hehe but yeah the beach would be nice, after all it is meant to be called the 'beach house' lol mind you, has anyone noticed its actually rarely called that on screen these days? I was amazed to see exterior filming at the Town House for Aden's last scenes, it was nice because it really does add some realism to a scene, if they hadn't shown the house it couldve been any random bit of road lol. And maybe when she was kidnapped by Amanda's sister. I presume it would be quite hard to focus in on one house amongst the other houses in terms of aerial shots. But I was just thinking more along the lines of the ones they used to use during the 90's, taken from far away - I think they'd look fantastic in HD, espeically if you can see a bit of the beach too. I remember one particular shot of the beach house, it was taken from afar and you saw the whole house and a lot of the sky and the garden/some of the beach (I think) - but it always made it look like such a beautiful house to live in and gave a really nice summer bay feel. I also think they should use some stock shots from the later 90's of Summer Bay House, they had quite a few 'aerial' looking shots they could use again, all they need to do is upscale and color correct, I'm sure they would look good and seamless if they use that zooming effect they seem to make use off, until they've re-built - that's if they are still going ahead with it? Dan F Posted May 14, 2010 Report Share Posted May 14, 2010 Both of those car ones were in the middle of nowhere too - I'll probably upload the page with mentioning last week as the first external scene anyway, can soon change it if I manage to track another down! Hopefully I'll have the Beach House update up at the weekend, have just heard back from the photographer who has kindly given permission for us to upload the photos onto the site - they're quite extensive, showing the main living area from all angles where it's quite easy to make a comparison to the onscreen counterpart - there's also pictures of the rear of the house and the main bedroom above the boatshed Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
