He then kisses her passionately. S.2 – LEAH knocks over a shoebox from her cupboard and finds old photos of her first husband Vinnie. Inside is a letter. Picking it up, she holds her hand to her mouth. S.3 – LEAH and CHARLIE, sitting in the Diner. Charlie: ‘Vinnie had a son.’ ‘I want you to find him.’ S.4 – LEAH is speaking with RACHEL on the beach. ‘He’s nothing like I thought he was.’ ‘What do you mean?’ ‘After everything I’ve been through. With Vinnie, and Dan. I know its early, but I think Dylan might just be what I need in my life.’ S.5 – CHARLIE and DYLAN kiss on the beach. FADE TO BLACK INT. MILE’S HOME – MORNING MELODY and ANNIE are in the kitchen. MILES enters from the back entrance. MILES Girls. (he nods to Jai, who’s on the couch). MELODY Hey, so I was wondering if you could take us to Yabbie Creek tomorrow? MILES looks at her. MILES Yeah okay... why? MELODY No reason. MILES Is this something that I really don’t want to know? ANNIE Probably. (she giggles) MILES put down the bucket he was holding and makes his way to the stairs. MILES Okay. Just don’t get into trouble. INT. DINER – MORNING LEAH and ROMAN are in the kitchen. COLLEEN enters. COLLEEN Leah! Leah! (she whispers in a frenzy). LEAH Yes Colleen (She smiles at ROMAN) COLLEEN I think you have a surprise out front. LEAH What? LEAH leaves the kitchen and finds DYLAN standing at the counter with a bouquet of flowers. DYLAN For the beautiful Mrs Patterson. She grins and accepts the flowers. LEAH They’re beautiful! DYLAN As much as you. LEAH laughs, moving back to the kitchen, Colleen takes the flowers and begins to put it in a vase. DYLAN walks into the kitchen. DYLAN I also have some news for you. LEAH turns surprised. LEAH Already. DYLAN Already. Do you want to talk somewhere else? LEAH looks around at ROMAN and COLLEEN. LEAH Here’s okay. DYLAN (nods) My friend thinks he’s found him. I have an address. LEAH Oh my god. (she looks anxious) ROMAN Leah, that’s fantastic! CHARLIE Knock, knock! CHARLIE enters the kitchen. She instantly gives ROMAN a glare, before looking at DYLAN. CHARLIE What are you doing here? DYLAN I offered to help Leah out. CHARLIE By giving her flowers? LEAH looks at CHARLIE, then at ROMAN. Both are confused. DYLAN Well... yeah. Leah and I had a great time the other night. CHARLIE I thought we did. Everybody looks confused. LEAH What? INT. MARTHA’S HOME – DAY HUGO and XAVIER return home to find MARTHA on the couch lying down. XAVIER goes to his room whilst HUGO walks over to MARTHA, and sits beside her. SHE opens her eyes. MARTHA Hugo. HUGO Look. Before you say anything. I just wanted to say I’m sorry. MARTHA No. Look... I think I overreacted. HUGO Really? MARTHA laughs softly. MARTHA No. I mean. I don’t know. Just hear me out. At this point in time, I don’t think I can give you what you want. You have to understand that. But... I’m not saying never. HUGO If you want time, then you have it. MARTHA I do. I mean, it’s going to sound strange but in a way, I still feel as though Jack is here with me. As long as I feel him, I won’t be ready. HUGO I understand. MARTHA Thanks. No matter what, you’ll always be a good friend. She hugs him. EXT. CARAVAN PARK – AFTERNOON ANNIE, JAI, and MELODY are walking through the park. MELODY I still have no idea what to get Miles. JAI He hasn’t really hinted at anything. MELODY He probably doesn’t know that we know it’s his birthday. ANNIE He doesn’t go hinting at it. JAI Nope. RACHEL Leah... not that I don’t agree with you, but what if he had a good reason? LEAH Like what? Come on Rachel! (frustrated) I just... I can’t do it anymore! She storms away from RACHEL. INT. LEAH’S HOME – AFTERNOON DYLAN knocks on the door. CHARLIE answers. CHARLIE Go away. DYLAN Charlie, hear me out. CHARLIE Why? So you can feed me more lies? DYLAN Charlie. CHARLIE I would have said you were nothing like Roman, now I see you’re just like him! DYLAN looks down. DYLAN There’s something I have to tell you. CHARLIE I don’t want to hear it. DYLAN You do. I need to tell somebody Charlie. CHARLIE raises an eyebrow. CHARLIE What’s so important? DYLAN The other night you exposed yourself to me. I think it’s time I show you who I really am. INT. LEAH’S HOME – LOUNGE ROOM – AFTERNOON DYLAN and CHARLIE are sitting in the same couch. DYLAN Roman and I... (He looks down) We never got along. When we were younger, there was me, Roman, our other brother Oscar, and Nicole. CHARLIE Nicole? DYLAN Not Roman’s daughter. Nicole, our baby sister. (tears glisten in his eyes) You see, with dad gone all the time, Mum had to work two jobs to support us. One day, they left me in charge of babysitting Nicole. I got distracted... and she fell into... she fell into the pool. Before I realised, it was too late. CHARLIE looks as if she is about to cry. DYLAN’s already crying. DYLAN They blamed me. Roman mostly. So I ran away. Several months after, when Natalie’s parent’s forbade Roman to see Nicole, he joined the SAS. I’ve never forgiven myself for what happened that day, and ever since, I haven’t allowed anybody to get close to me. CHARLIE I’m sorry. I am... but... DYLAN There’s more. CHARLIE places her hand on his. DYLAN The reason I got distracted that day. (he takes his hands from Charlie’s, and wipes his eyes.) I was sleeping with Natalie. CHARLIE Roman’s ex... Nicole’s mother. DYLAN One and the same. CHARLIE stands suddenly, walking away from him. CHARLIE Then Nicole... DYLAN I don’t know. She turns to him CHARLIE Does Roman know? DYLAN No... I couldn’t... I couldn’t tell him. CHARLIE You have to. If there’s any chance that Nicole might be your daughter, then you have to tell him. DYLAN Great. (he rolls his eyes) CHARLIE then makes her way to him, and kisses him. CHARLIE Thank you. For letting me see the real you. DYLAN smiles subtly. INT. MARTHA’S HOME – NIGHT MARTHA makes her way from her bedroom to the kitchen, holding her hand to her head. Putting her hand on the counter, she stands for a moment. MARTHA Hugo! There is nothing but silence. MARTHA Xavier! She then notices a note on the counter. It says: Martha, we’ve just gone out to give you some space. See you in the morning, Hugo. MARTHA No. She picks up the phone and dials. MARTHA Roman... (she sounds faint). MARTHA then collapses. END TITLES NEXT WEEK on HOME and AWAY S.1 – HUGO sits with MARTHA ‘You called Roman.’ Hugo murmurs. ‘You were out.’ ‘Still. You called him... and not me.’ He walks out on her. S.2 – CHARLIE accidentally tells NICOLE about DYLAN ‘What did you say?’ ‘Nicole. Just listen to me.’ ‘No! You’re saying that Roman isn’t my father! How can say that?!’ S.3 – LEAH sits in a car with MILES ‘Are you ready?’ ‘No.’ She smiles. ‘I have to do this.’ ‘I’m with you. Every step of the way.’ S.4 – XAVIER and RUBY are laying on his bed. ‘Are you sure?’ ‘Yes.’ She kisses him. He takes off his shirt. CHARLIE then walks in on them. RUBY is speechless, XAVIER jumps from the bed, trying to find his shirt. S.5 - ROMAN speaks with DYLAN 'I have some bad news.' "What?' 'It's Oscar. He's dead.' So there's a chance I might be able to do 8, 9, and 10 for you guys tomorrow, before I got away. Here's 6 and 7: HOME and AWAY EP #6 LAST TIME on HOME and AWAY [Montage] S.1 – RUBY cries over XAVIER ‘I don’t want to be second best for you. If you want me, I have to be your only one. Do you understand that?’ ‘Yes Ruby! That’s what I’m trying to say. I know I hurt you in the past, just know now that, I’m the one for you. I know I’ve made my fair share of mistakes, but now I see the one thing I did that wasn’t a mistake. Falling in love with you.’ S.2 – MARTHA collapses FADE TO BLACK INT. HOSPITAL – NIGHT ALF, COLLEEN, RACHEL, and ROMAN are all standing outside of MARTHA’S HOSPITAL ROOM. She wakes up, and listens to them on the outside. ALF Do you know for sure if it’s the cancer? RACHEL At this point, we can’t say anything for sure. We’re still running tests, so I expect we’ll know something by morning. COLLEEN Ah, the poor pet. ALF I’m just glad you got her here as soon as possible. ALF pats ROMAN on the shoulder. ROMAN We’re just lucky she called me. ALF Yeah. Has anyone called Hugo or Tony? RACHEL Tony’s on his way. Still no news of Hugo. (she looks to the room.) I think we should let her get her rest. We can’t do much now anyway. ALF I’ll go and call Ric and tell him everything. ALF walks away. COLLEEN follows him. RACHEL hugs ROMAN. RACHEL She’ll be okay. ROMAN I know. If it is the cancer, I know she can beat it. Back in the room, MARTHA rolls to her side, and starts crying silently. EXT. BEACH – MORNING XAVIER runs out of the surf, RUBY is sitting and watching him. RUBY I never knew my boyfriend was so hot. XAVIER Ah! So I’m your boyfriend now? RUBY You better be this time. (she rolls her eyes.) XAVIER jumps on top of her and starts tickling her. RUBY Ah! Xavier! You’re all wet! XAVIER So...? She laughs before she kisses him. RUBY Charlie and Leah will be out this afternoon. I’ll have the place free... if... you know. XAVIER Really? She nods shyly. He then kisses her. XAVIER Are you sure? RUBY I’ve never been more sure in my life. XAVIER stands and pulls RUBY up. He puts his arm around her and they start walking up the beach. INT. ROMAN’S HOUSE - MORNING ROMAN is about to leave, when NICOLE walks down the stairs. NICOLE You going to the hospital? ROMAN I have to swing by work first, then I’ll be with Martha. Why? NICOLE No reason. She sits on the couch and takes out her phone. ROMAN You going to be okay with everything? NICOLE Roman, I’m not a little kid. Go! ROMAN grins, before walking out the door. ROMAN Where have you been? HUGO Pardon? ROMAN For someone who really cares about Martha, you don’t seem really concerned. HUGO stands. HUGO What do you mean? INT. HOSPITAL – MORNING HUGO runs into the hospital. HUGO Rachel! Where is she? RACHEL leads him to MARTHA’S room. HUGO Oh god! He hugs her, then kisses her on the forehead. HUGO I’m so sorry. God! I... MARTHA Hugo... its okay. HUGO What happened? Do the doctor’s know anything yet? MARTHA shakes her head. MARTHA They’re still waiting on test results. HUGO Okay. Roman said he found you? What was he doing at your place? MARTHA I called him. HUGO What? MARTHA adjusts herself, propping herself up properly. MARTHA I didn’t know where you’d gone. I panicked. HUGO So you called Roman. MARTHA You were out. HUGO stands, putting his hand on his lips. HUGO Still. You called him... and not me. He walks to the door, and takes a look at her. MARTHA’S on the brink of tears. He then walks out. INT. ROMAN’S HOUSE – MORNING ADEN walks in and finds NICOLE on the couch. ADEN Nicole. I know what you’re trying to do, but don’t. NICOLE You have no idea what I’m going to do, so sit your backside on this couch right now! He does so quickly. NICOLE Look. I know you feel pretty crap about what you did. Lets face it, you were completely stupid and should feel guilty. ADEN Thanks. NICOLE But I’m all about forgiveness. ADEN (tries not to laugh) Since when? NICOLE Since I turned a new leaf. But that’s not important. What is, is fixing this mess you’ve made. ADEN Whatever you say oh wise one. NICOLE raises her eyebrow, and looks as if she’s ready to attack him. ADEN Sorry? INT. RUBY’S HOME – DAY XAVIER and RUBY are making out on RUBY’S bed. XAVIER Are you sure? RUBY Yes. She takes his shirt off. They kiss passionately. CHARLIE then walks in on them. XAVIER jumps off the bed and into the corner of the room, scrounging for his shirt. RUBY looks speechless at her sister. END TITLES NEXT TIME on HOME and AWAY S.1 – RUBY fights with CHARLIE ‘You are not to see him!’ CHARLIE screams. ‘Why not?’ ‘He’s a bad influence on you Rubes. Can’t you see that?’ S.2 – RUBY meets with XAVIER at the diner. ‘You me, tonight.’ She whispers to him. S.3 – In bushland at night. RUBY shakes her head angrily before storming out. INT. HOSPITAL – DAY RACHEL enters MARTHA’S ROOM. RACHEL I have some good news for you! MARTHA What? RACHEL It’s not the cancer. MARTHA sighs with relief. ALF, places his hand on MARTHA’S ALF Then what is it? RACHEL As far as we’re concerned, you were just dehydrated. It sounds stupid, but it can be a common side effects of all the treatments and medications you’ve had in your system lately. Other than that, your fine to go. MARTHA (smiles) Thank you. (she looks at ALF and grins) INT. GYM – AFTERNOON ADEN is in the gym when GEOFF enters. ADEN What? GEOFF just shakes his head. ADEN sneers, before hitting the punching bag. EXT. BEACH – AFTERNOON ADEN is walking along the beach when he sees BELLE standing with NICOLE. They both see ADEN, before BELLE turns around and walks away. ADEN Belle! NICOLE stops him. NICOLE Listen. Not here, not now. Remember, you have to do what I say. ADEN But...! NICOLE Aden! Trust me. You and Belle will be back together in no time. INT. DINER – AFTERNOON XAVIER is sitting alone reading a magazine. RUBY enters and puts her hands over his eyes. He laughs. XAVIER Your alive! RUBY Barely. She kisses his neck. RUBY You me, tonight. XAVIER smiles. INT. CARAVAN PARK HOUSE – AFTERNOON LEAH knocks on the door, and MELODY welcomes her. MELODY Are you here about you-know-who’s birthday? LEAH Who’s? (she notices Melody quieten when MILES walks in) Miles? (she mouths) MELODY nods, before leaving. MILES Hello! What are you doing here? LEAH (grins) Actually. I came to ask a favour. MILES puts the washing basket in the laundry. MILES It’ll cost you. Don’t know if you can afford it. LEAH Ha, ha. Look, I was going to go with Dylan, but... well you know what happened. Anyway, I have the address. I need your help. MILES nods, then hugs her. MILES You know I’m here whenever you call. LEAH Ring, Ring. MILES laughs. MILES When did you want to go? LEAH Tomorrow? MILES nods. MILES Yeah sounds good. LEAH Thank you so much. Gee... thanks... um... you’re a good friend. You know that. MILES Oh I pride myself on it. LEAH Shut up! RUBY Don’t say that! XAVIER Ruby, you got us lost! RUBY turns to him. RUBY We are not lost! XAVIER turns around angrily. XAVIER You know what, we should have just waited! Why did I let myself come out here at night with you? RUBY Why, is my company so bad? XAVIER Ruby! RUBY No Xavier! (her voice raises) I’m just trying to get some alone time with you, and what do I get, whinging! XAVIER We’re lost! It’s dark! RUBY Go home crying then! XAVIER shakes his head at her. XAVIER Whatever. RUBY Don’t whatever me. XAVIER Ruby. He reaches out to her, but she backs away. RUBY No. Look... I don’t want to keep fighting with you. XAVIER Then don’t. RUBY I’m not! You’re being impossible! XAVIER Me!? RUBY Maybe we’re not right for each other. XAVIER What? RUBY You heard me! (she screams.) It begins to rain. XAVIER Great! RUBY What? You going to blame this one on me too? XAVIER I think maybe your right. We’re not good together. RUBY Yeah? Well that’s not going to get us home. She scowls before she walks off. EXT. ROAD – MORNING LEAH and MILES are sitting in a car. Leah breathes in, and breathes out. Anxious. MILES Are you ready? LEAH No. She smiles. LEAH I have to do this. MILES I’m with you. Every step of the way. She nods, before exiting the car. She holds up the piece of paper to read, and looks up again. LEAH This can’t be right. MILES What? LEAH It says... She looks at a row of houses, then to the other side, where a cemetery lies. She then walks towards the cemetery. MILES Leah? LEAH is walking down a row of graves, before she stops at one covered with yellow flowers. She kneels down before it, and covers her mouth with her hand. MILES walks up behind her. LEAH Miles. MILES I know. The grave they are looking at says: ‘Vincent Patterson, 13-09-1996 - 19-07-2006. END CREDITS NEXT TIME on HOME and AWAY S.1 – ADEN talks with BELLE ‘The only reason I wrote that article... was to give you closure.’ She turns away from him. ‘I never meant it to hurt you.’ ‘Belle. I’m sorry.’ ‘No. What you did Aden... I can’t forgive you for that. Not this time. S.2 – CHARLIE accidentally tells NICOLE about DYLAN ‘What did you say?’ ‘Nicole. Just listen to me.’ ‘No! With everything going on, and the show moving too fast ahead without me keeping up sadly, I just can't do anymore at the moment. Instead, I'll post what I was going to write in a summary. - Leah discovers Vinnie's son is dead, therefore losing all connection with her late husband for good. Saddened by her break up with Xavier, Ruby turns to the “wild side” forcing Annie into an uncomfortable situation. - Martha, Hugo, Dylan and Charlie go on a double date. Rachel worries about Tony's state of mind. Belle, blinding by hatred of Aden accidently runs somebody off the road, and leaves him there. - Antonio returns to haunt Belle, and now with Aden out of the picture, she seems all alone. Roman and Dylan receive bad news - their other brother Oscar, and his wife have been killed in a car accident, leaving their three children orphans. Freddie (16), Nessa (18), and Brett (8) must now move to the Bay. Dylan takes it upon himself to look after the wayward children. Will Belle escape Antonio? - Dylan suffers a seizure from his epilepsy. - Belle feels pressure from Antonio's offer. The Harris children arrive in the Bay, to which Ruby has an instant connection with Freddie. Dylan and Charlie's relationship heats up until their latest escapade lands Charlie in hot water. - Miles comforts Leah. Nessa stumbles upon Belle trying to steal money from the Diner, and is instantly verbally assaulted by Nicole after flirting with Geoff. Tony's depression deepens. - Dylan stumbles upon something strange about the children's bank accounts - money was deposited in each of their accounts by their parents a day before their tragic deaths. “Fruby” is made official. Charlie agrees to look into Oscar Harris' death. Roman fights with Dylan when he learns about the inquiry. Brett knows more than anyone thinks, getting himself into trouble with VJ. - Nessa learns the truth from Belle about Antonio and goes behind her back to tell Aden. Still withdrawn from his break up, will Aden help Belle, or will he fall into the arms of the mysterious new girl? Rachel checks Tony into a clinic for his depression. - Charlie discovers she is pregnant. - With Tony out of Summer Bay, things go from bad to worse when Rachel goes into labour. Antonio rapes Belle, yet luckily she is saved by Aden, who picks up Antonio's gun and shoots him, leaving the two teens stunned. Leah learns that Vinnie's son really isn't dead - he's living a life with Lou DeBono's ex wife who has brought him up as her own. Will she tell the boy the truth about his father, or finally close the chapter on her life with her first true love? - Rachel gives birth to Jacqueline. - Brett begins acting funny, and Freddie goes out of control, getting into a fight with Aden. Dylan and Nicole’s paternity comes back. Roman is Nicole’s father. Whilst at the hospital, Dylan discovers the source of Brett’s hesitance. There is a man from the Harris’ past that has come back to haunt them. - Charlie and Dylan hunt down evidence to convict Jules Marino, a past employee who worked with Oscar Harris. They believe he stole money from the company, and when Oscar discovered this, his family was silenced. - Aden and Belle struggle with the guilt of Antonio’s death, yet find reconciliation with each other. - Freddie and Ruby’s relationship intensifies, whilst Nessa struggles to find her individuality. Brett is kidnapped. Roman rescues Brett from Lloyd, someone working for Jules Marino. - Leah and Miles attempt to see young Vinnie, yet all fails on deaf ears. - With the threat of Jules and Lloyd over, Dylan and Charlie elope. - Nicole wants Geoff back. FINALE - Charlie and Dylan return. Charlie is now heavily pregnant. Tony and Rachel are celebrating their family. Miles and Leah fall in love completely. - Lloyd escapes custody and holds Freddie, Ruby, Nessa, Annie, Jai, Brett, and Geoff hostage at Roman’s house. - Charlie and Dylan’s car is run off the road and explodes. - Nicole makes up her mind. She wants Geoff and races to Roman’s house. She knocks on the door. The screen goes black, and a gunshot is heard. RETURN - The car explodes. From the wreckage, Dylan carries Charlie out. Angelo, cops, and ambulances arrive at the scene. Angelo is distraught at Charlie’s state. Dylan then suffers a seizure and collapses. - At Roman’s house, Lloyd takes Nicole inside, before Geoff attempts to stop him. Lloyd shoots and Ruby gets hit in the arm. - At Irene’s, the police arrive and arrest Aden on suspicion of Antonio’s death. - With everyone seemingly okay, both Charlie and Dylan are rushed into the operating theatre. Charlie must undergo an emergency C-Sect to save the baby, whilst Dylan’s brain is swelling. One of them will die. -Charlie sits by Dylan’s side, holding a baby. She tells Dylan that she will take good care of their daughter. She kisses him, before walking out of the room. It appears that Dylan is dead. Rachel then enters the room, and checks Dylan’s vitals. The camera moves to the monitor, Dylan’s heart is still beating. It is both Charlie and their daughter who have died. - Ruby and Freddie realise they need each other now more than ever. - Everybody reels in the tragedy. - At Charlie’s funeral, Dylan breaks down. Yet following, he returns to the beach, and goes skinny dipping. He emerges from the water laughing. Sitting in the sand, he begins to cry. Roman finds him, and the two brothers comfort each other.
