Characters Mentioned: BTTB rating: A Genre: Drama and Angst Does story include spoilers: No Any warnings: Nope I'll post a couple of scenes per post, as it is rather long. ------------------------- HOME AND AWAY, EP# 1 LAST TIME, on HOME and AWAY [MONTAGE] S.1 - BELLE is standing in the office of the COASTAL NEWS, her editor is speaking with her. ‘If you can’t write the article, then pack your bags.’ ‘You don’t get it! This isn’t just another story for me.’ ‘Then make up your mind. If you can’t do it, then pack up your things and go.’ S.2 – LEAH knocks over a shoebox from her cupboard and finds old photos of her first husband Vinnie. Inside is a letter. Picking it up, she holds her hand to her mouth. S.3 – CHARLIE is on the beach at night. ROMAN confronts her. ‘What do you want from me?’ ‘Nothing!’ She turns and cries at him. ‘Just leave me alone Roman.’ ‘Charlie.’ ‘Don’t! Make up your mind! You love Martha, so stop pulling me along because you know how I feel for you Roman. How I’ve always felt about you. If you can’t see what you’re doing to me then just leave!’ FADE TO BLACK EXT. DINER CARPARK – MORNING. CHARLIE exits the Diner and makes her way to her car. RUBY is inside listening to her iPod. She takes out her earphones as Charlie enters. “Creak” by the Panics, is playing in the background. RUBY (Surprised) That was fast! Thanks. She accepts the coffee from Charlie. RUBY So like I was saying before, Annie needed help with this assignment, so we thought we’d better head to the library in Yabbie Creek. You don’t mind? CHARLIE I had to go in for the morning anyway. Charlie begins to reverse, yet is stopped as a motorcyclist cuts her off and stops right beside her in an illegal park. Stepping out of her car, Charlie moves to the motorcyclist. CHARLIE (Voice rising) Excuse me! The motorcyclist removes his helmet and stands by his bike. Turning to see Charlie walking to him. CHARLIE You can’t park here. MOTORCYCLIST (Grinning) Who says? CHARLIE I do. Charlie puts her hands on her hips. MOTORCYCLIST And you are? CHARLIE (Yells) I’m a cop! Move now, or else. The motorcyclist laughs . MOTOCYCLIST Touchy! Okay, I’ll move. I never thought I’d live the day I’d see a cop as hot as you though. Must say... Damn! Charlie rolls her eyes and walks away. Charlie gets back into her car, and pulls on her seatbelt. RUBY What was that about? CHARLIE Some jerk. INT. DINER – MORNING LEAH is shuffling in the kitchen. Her mind is elsewhere. Roman enters. “The River Between” by Gyroscope is playing in the background. ROMAN Are you okay? You seem a little elsewhere this morning. Leah puts on a brave face. LEAH I don’t really know how to feel this morning. ROMAN Is something wrong? LEAH You can say that. She turns and looks at him. Smiling even though he knows she’s putting up a brave face. Leah is hesitant to say anything. ROMAN If this is about the other night... LEAH It’s not! Really. I just... COLLEEN enters, ranting and raving. COLLEEN Honestly! Some of these youngsters don’t have any manners whatsoever! She slams the dishes into the sink, on the brink of tears. Aden walks to her, sitting down beside her. “The River Between” by Gyroscope fades out. ADEN Belle? Belle turns, she seems out of it. ADEN You should be at home, you look out of it. BELLE (Yawns) I feel it. I’ve been up all night writing this story... ADEN What’s this one about? Belle looks away from him, shaking her head. She then stands to leave. BELLE I have to go. Call me later. ADEN Yeah... sure. As Belle leaves, Charlie makes her way up to Aden. CHARLIE You okay? ADEN Yeah. Never better. He smiles before walking away, leaving Charlie standing by herself. She fixes her hair before walking away. INT. DINER – DAY Charlie enters the Diner, as Leah is about to leave. She looks as if she’s on the brink of tears. CHARLIE Leah? LEAH Just the person I wanted to see! Can I talk to you for a minute? CHARLIE (looks at her watch) Yeah. Of course, what’s up? INT. DINER – DAY Charlie and Leah are sitting on the couch in the corner of the Diner. “Hard to Bear” by the Futureheads is playing in the background. LEAH It’s about Vinnie. CHARLIE You’re first husband? Leah nods, handing Charlie the letter she found in the shoebox. Charlie reads it, she then shakes her head. CHARLIE When did you find this? LEAH Yesterday. I didn’t know what to think at first. Charlie nods, putting her fingers on her lips, continuing to read the letter. CHARLIE Vinnie had a son. LEAH I want you to find him. Charlie looks at her, her eyes widen. CHARLIE Leah. I don’t... I can try, but without anything else. (She emphasises the letter), it may be difficult. LEAH Please. I need to find him. Charlie places her hand on Leah’s, and smiles warmly. CHARLIE I’ll do my best. LEAH Thank you. The motorcyclist from the morning enters the Diner. CHARLIE Oh, what are you doing here? LEAH (Unsure) Wow... Charlie... you can pick ‘em. CHARLIE It’s not like that! Leah grins. Charlie shakes her head. CHARLIE I’ll see what I can do. She gets up to leave, making her way to the blond motorcyclist, who is now sitting at a table, reading a newspaper. CHARLIE I just wanted to say thanks for this morning. The blond guy looks up at her. MOTORCYCLIST That’s alright honey. (Grins) Charlie places her hand on the table. Her face is red, and angry. CHARLIE Pardon? MOTORCYCLIST Do you know any good places to eat? ‘Cos I’m dying to take you out for a bite. CHARLIE You have rocks in your head. She turns to leave and notices Roman standing there. After their fight, she looks at him bitterly. ROMAN Dylan? Charlie looks at Roman, raises and eyebrow, then looks at the blond motorcyclist. MOTORCYCLIST Roman! CHARLIE (angry) You know him? DINER - AFTERNOON Aden walks into the Diner and is stopped by Roman. “"Radio Lies"” by Faker is playing in the background. ADEN Hey, Roman, have you seen Belle? ROMAN (screws up his nose) No. Not all day actually. ADEN (shakes his head) Okay. If you see her, just let her know I'm looking for her. ROMAN Sure thing. Roman retreats back into the kitchen. Aden, picks up the Coastal News paper that Dylan had been reading in the previous scene. He turns to pages to find Belle’s latest article. A huge headline reads: “CHILD ABUSE: THE EFFECTS ON A LIFE.” Aden is quickly angered, throwing the paper to the table and racing out of the Diner. INT. IRENE'S HOME - AFTERNOON. Aden beats at Irene’s door, before storming in. Belle races from her bedroom to see Aden. Without him saying anything, she already knows why he is there. “"Cruel Guards"” by the Panics plays in the background. BELLE I'm so sorry. I was going to tell you. ADEN (yells) What? Before the whole town found out? BELLE I didn’t have a choice. I had to print that story! Aden raises his fist to his mouth, tears brimming his eyes. ADEN I trusted you with my secret Belle! How could you!? BELLE I didn't say your name. No one will know its you! Aden turns his back on her ADEN That's not the point Belle! I trusted you. And now you’ve broken that trust. He races out, and slams the door behind him, leaving Belle standing there, crying. She moves to her bedroom, and stares at a packet of her painkillers. Gulping, she pops the packet and swallows the pills. EXT. BEACH - AFTERNOON. Dylan is running along the beach, Roman runs to meet him. The two begin jogging along the sand. ROMAN What are you doing here? DYLAN What? I can't visit my big brother? Roman stops running. ROMAN Last time I knew, you wanted nothing to do with me. DYLAN Yeah. But now I'm back. If you like it or not. "Cruel Guards"” by the Panics fades out. INT. IRENE'S HOME - NIGHT Irene enters the house, and places her belongings on the counter. It appears as though nobody is home. IRENE Belle? (she begins searching) Belle? Irene moves to Belle's bedroom, and finds her passed out on the floor. She rushes to her side. IRENE Oh my god! Belle! Oh Belle! END CREDITS NEXT TIME on HOME and AWAY [Montage] S.1 – DYLAN overhears LEAH’s predicament, and offers his assistance. ‘I can help you find your son.’ S.2 – CHARLIE once again comes under fire from Dylan. ‘A date. Just a date.’ He says. ‘Not in a million years.’ S.3 – BELLE is rushed into hospital on a stetcher. IRENE is on the phone. ‘Aden! Pick up Aden. It's Belle!’ S.4 RACHEL walks into Belle's room. HOME AND AWAY, EP# 2 LAST TIME, on HOME and AWAY [MONTAGE] S.1 – CHARLIE walks up to DYLAN in the Diner carpark. ‘You can’t park here.’ Dylan: ‘Who says?’ ‘I do.’ ‘And you are?’ ‘I’m a cop! Move now, or else.’ Touchy! Okay, I’ll move. I never thought I’d live the day I’d see a cop as hot as you though. Must say... Damn!’ S.2 – ROMAN steps out of the kitchen to see CHARLIE and DYLAN ‘Dylan.’ ‘Roman!’ Charlie turns bewildered. ‘You know him?’ ‘Charlie. Meet Dylan. My little brother.’ S.3 – LEAH and CHARLIE, sitting in the Diner. Charlie: ‘Vinnie had a son.’ ‘I want you to find him.’ S.4 – ADEN confronts BELLE. ‘I trusted you with my secret Belle! How could you!?’ ADEN slams the door. BELLE retreats to her bedroom and takes her painkillers. S.5 – IRENE discovers BELLE. ‘Oh my God! Belle! Oh, Belle! FADE TO BLACK INT. JOEY’S BEDROOM – NIGHT ADEN is sitting up in Joey’s bed. He looks out of it. On the brink of tears, he looks at Joey lying asleep next to him. He puts his head in his hands. INT. DINER – MORNING ADEN enters the diner. Nicole runs to greet him. “God Is Dead, Meet The Kids” by British India plays in the background. NICOLE Aden! Thank god! Didn’t you check your phone? ADEN (Confused) What’s so important now? Nicole hits him on the arm with her handbag. NICOLE Aden, its Belle. She’s in hospital. ADEN What? INT. HOSPITAL – MORNING RACHEL walks in on BELLE, lying in bed. Belle slowly opens her eyes, her fingers touching the tube attached to her neck. BELLE What...? RACHEL Belle. It’s okay, your in hospital. Rachel checks her eyes. RACHEL I need to know what you took last night. BELLE I... RACHEL Belle, you collapsed last night because you overdosed on something. I need to know what it was. It’s important. Belle shakes her head slightly. BELLE I don’t... I don’t remember. Where’s Aden? Rachel looks at the door at Irene who shakes her head. RACHEL We’re still trying to find him. Listen, I think we need to talk. Not just about what happened last night. When we were running tests, we found something else. BELLE What? Rachel bites her lip. RACHEL Belle. You’re pregnant. INT. DINER – DAY ROMAN is cooking next to LEAH, DYLAN is standing behind them. “Don’t Fight It” by the Panics plays in the background. ROMAN I just don’t get what would have made her do something like that. Leah shakes her head as she makes a salad. LEAH Sometimes people do stupid things. ROMAN I get that. But Belle of all people. LEAH I guess the stress finally got to her. It can’t be easy with everything she’s been through. DYLAN is eating an apple. DYLAN So this Belle... she hot? Roman glares at him. ROMAN How did your talk with Charlie go yesterday? LEAH Good. I mean, I don’t really know what I was expecting. It’s a long shot I know. ROMAN Yeah, but if Vinnie did have a son out there, then you have to try everything to find him. DYLAN You lost someone? This time Leah glares at him. DYLAN What? Listen, I used to know someone who could find anyone. If you want, I can help you out. Leah looks at Roman. DYLAN Look, I don’t start work for another week. I’d be happy to help you out. LEAH Um... yeah okay. If you think this friend of yours can help. DYLAN No worries. I’ll give him a ring now. Dylan exits the kitchen and bumps into Charlie, who has just entered the Diner. DYLAN Hey there beautiful! CHARLIE (Screws up her nose) What do you want? DYLAN You know what I want. CHARLIE How can you be Roman’s brother? She pushes past him. DYLAN A date. Just a date. RACHEL Belle. You’ve been exhausted, you could have easily forgotten... Belle shakes her head. BELLE No... It’s not that. (muffled cry) I’m too young. (she holds her nose) Where’s Aden? RACHEL He’s on his way here with Nicole. Look. We don’t need to discuss this now, but I need you to know that with you pregnant, your health is most important. You can’t keep on abusing drugs like you have been. BELLE (shakes her head) I haven’t. I mean... RACHEL What? BELLE Last night. Aden and I... we had this fight. Rachel puts her hand on Belle’s shoulder. RACHEL I know you’ve been under a lot of stress lately. With the development site, and Angelo. You just have to remember that we are all here for you. Belle nods. BELLE Yeah. (softly) Thanks. EXT. BEACH – DAY DYLAN runs from the water. LEAH is standing watching him. He grabs his towel. LEAH It’s a good day for it. DYLAN Yes it is. (grins) You checking me out? Leah looks away, her face brightens. LEAH I find it so hard to believe your related to Roman. DYLAN That’s what everyone says. I guess it comes with not growing up with him. LEAH What? DYLAN Nothing. Anyway, I called my friend. He says he can help. LEAH (Smiles) Really!? That’s... that’s fantastic! Thank you! Leah touches his arm. Dylan then moves and kisses her. She pushes him away. DYLAN Sorry. I just... couldn’t resist. LEAH That’s what this was all about, wasn’t it? DYLAN What? Leah shakes her head and walks away. LEAH You thought if you helped me out. The damsel in distress, that I’d come crawling into your arms! You really aren’t like Roman, are you? Dylan chases after her. DYLAN Leah! Wait... it’s not like that! Okay, I’m sorry! Leah stops, arms folded. DYLAN I just thought... a date. You and me, tomorrow night. Please. At least let me make up for it. Leah looks to the Surf Club, and sees Roman standing, watching them. LEAH Okay. DYLAN Yeah? LEAH Yes! Okay! (she laughs softly, a huge smile on her face.) I can’t. It’s just too soon.’ ‘Martha. Just listen to me okay! I love you!’ S.3 – CHARLIE sitting alone at the bar. DYLAN sits next to her. ‘Peace offering.’ He sits. ‘What do you want.’ ‘I want to get to know you better.’ CHARLIE looks at him curiously. S.4 – LEAH is speaking with RACHEL at the Diner. ‘He’s nothing like I thought he was.’ ‘What do you mean?’ ‘After everything I’ve been through. With Vinnie, and Dan. HOME AND AWAY, EP# 3 LAST TIME, on HOME and AWAY [MONTAGE] LAST TIME on HOME and AWAY S.1 – MARTHA is sitting on her bed, HUGO sits beside her. ‘Martha.’ ‘Don’t. Roman already told me everything.’ ‘He...’ He looks away angry before storming out. S.2 – ADEN wakes up in Joey’s bed. S.3 – BELLE tells ADEN she’s pregnant. ‘I’m pregnant.’ ‘I’m sorry!’ Aden runs out of the hospital. FADE TO BLACK INT. DINER – MORNING. “Creak” by the Panics is playing in the background. LEAH exits the kitchen and meets DYLAN who is sitting down at a table. LEAH Any news? DYLAN (shakes his head) Like I said, it might be hard, but my friend thinks he might be on the right track. Leah... it’s going to take some time. Leah nods. LEAH Yeah. I know. Do you want anything? (She turns to the kitchen and back again). Dylan shakes his head. DYLAN Still on for tonight, yeah? LEAH (gleefully) Of course. DYLAN Perfect. I’ll pick you up at seven. Leah walks back to the kitchen. Dylan begins to leave, yet is stopped at the door by Charlie. She glares at him before pushing past. INT. HOSPITAL - DAY RACHEL is at the counter, DYLAN makes his way up to her. “Wasted” by Angus and Julia Stone is playing in the background. DYLAN Are you Rachel Armstrong? RACHEL Yes. You’re Dylan Harris? The Other Harris (She raises her eyebrows.) What can I do for you? DYLAN I just needed to check in with the paramedics. I’m supposed to be starting next week. RACHEL You’re a paramedic! Wow, um... (she turns), I’ll get you Michael Powell’s number, he should be able to tell you what you need to know. She moves behind the counter, and searches through the draws. RACHEL So I heard about your big date with Leah tonight. DYLAN You have? RACHEL Yeah, just... just take it easy with her okay. She hasn’t had the best track record lately. DYLAN What do you mean? Rachel bites her lip, handing Dylan a card. RACHEL Probably best that she tell you. DYLAN Right. Okay, well thanks for this (He taps his fingers on the counter), I guess we’ll be seeing more of each other very soon. RACHEL That we will. (She laughs). Nurse Julie taps Rachel on the shoulder. JULIE Doctor Armstrong, Belle Taylor is calling for you. DYLAN The enigmatic Belle... (He grins), anyway, I’ll be off. Nice meeting you. RACHEL You too. She then walks with Julie to Belle’s room. Belle is lying in bed, crying. RACHEL Belle. What is it? BELLE I need Aden. Just, find me Aden. Please! INT. ROMAN’S HOME – DAY NICOLE is sitting on the couch with Geoff, they’re kissing. They are interrupted as Aden storms into the house, and runs up the stairs. Geoff looks at Nicole. NICOLE Be right back. INT. ADEN’S BEDROOM – DAY ADEN is sitting on his bed, eyes closed. Nicole sits next to him. NICOLE She’s going to be okay. ADEN (shakes his head) Nic, for once in your life please shut up. Nicole moves back quickly. NICOLE For once in your life just accept my help! Look, what’s happening with Belle is tough, she needs her friends around her. YOU need your friends around you too. ADEN (continues to shake his head) It’s not that simple. NICOLE Aden? He looks up at her, she holds his hands. ADEN Belle’s pregnant. Nicole’s mouth opens, she looks away from Aden. NICOLE Oh my god! ADEN It’s worse. NICOLE If you had a fight, that’s simple. Just sort it out. ADEN (Stands, fist to mouth) No. I mean... yeah, we did... but... NICOLE Aden! What did you do? Aden looks at her, tears in his eyes. ADEN I slept with Joey. Nicole’s face changes. She stands and slaps him hard on his face. NICOLE You what!? ADEN I didn’t mean to okay! We got into a fight! NICOLE So as soon as you two fight, you jump into Joey’s bed! Real classy Aden! BEACH – DAY LEAH walks along the beach with RACHEL. “The Sound of Coming Down” by the Long Winters plays in the background. RACHEL So I met the hunky paramedic today. LEAH (grins) Dylan. RACHEL So what’s the story? Leah smiles. For once in her life, she feels free. LEAH He’s nothing like I thought he was. RACHEL What do you mean? LEAH After everything I’ve been through. With Vinnie, and Dan. I know its early, but I think Dylan might just be what I need in my life RACHEL I think... strangely enough, I agree with you. He just seems so... spontaneous. You need that. LEAH What? I’m not spontaneous? RACHEL (laughs) Leah, I think we all know how tense you’ve been lately. Maybe this is what you really need. LEAH Yeah. (She laughs), I have nothing to wear! Rachel wraps her arm around Leah’s. RACHEL Oh! I think I can fix that! INT. MARTHA’S HOME – AFTERNOON MARTHA enters her home to find HUGO in the kitchen. She puts her shopping bags down and looks at him. MARTHA Hugo. I need to know something. HUGO (looks up surprised) Um... yeah anything. MARTHA What did you mean when you said Jack always came first? He turns away. Biting his lip. She moves closer to him, and places her hand on his arm. MARTHA Hugo. I need to know. Hugo turns back to her. MARTHA Did you mean what you said the other night? HUGO Yes. MARTHA So when Roman told me that you were the one who found Jack’s letters, why didn’t you tell me the truth? I deserved to know. HUGO I know. I’m sorry. But Martha... MARTHA What did you mean when you said Jack always came first? Answer me. Hugo looks down, and closes his eyes. HUGO Jack and I... (he shakes his head.) MARTHA What? He looks up and kisses her passionately. He moves back, and Martha is shocked. MARTHA Hugo. I can’t. It’s just too soon. She races to the door, tears falling down her face. HUGO Martha! Just listen to me okay! I love you, and what I meant about Jack... I know that I can never be what he was to you. I can only be myself, even though that’s not enough to love someone like you. I will always be second to Jack. I know that. But Martha... please. MARTHA (shakes her head) I’m sorry. She walks out. INT. BAR – NIGHT DYLAN and LEAH sit down at the bar. “My Eyes Won’t Shut” by Port O’Brien plays in the background. LEAH So you met Rachel today? DYLAN Yeah. She seems nice. You... LEAH We go back. Dylan takes a drink. DYLAN Right. LEAH So tell me more about you. Dylan grins. DYLAN I’m really a psychopathic murderer who’s just escaped from prison. My victims are usually very attractive women, just like yourself. I don’t know why, I just can’t... help it. (he laughs). LEAH Funny. (She hits him). Really. Who is Dylan Harris? He looks away, then back to her. DYLAN You don’t want to know. Really. LEAH What’s so bad that you can’t tell me? Dylan laughs softly. DYLAN I was always the screw up. (He smiles). Dad, he was in the SAS like Roman was. He was always on the move, so we never really knew him. So it was just my Mum, Roman, and Oscar. I’m the youngest. So when things got tough, I ran away. LEAH Doesn’t mean anything. DYLAN No... I guess not. (He drinks), what about you? Rachel left a very cryptic message for me. She laughs. LEAH She did? DYLAN What’s the big bad secret of Leah Patterson? LEAH Well there is one thing... every guy I ever get close to... somehow... well lets just say its never a happy ending. DYLAN Ah! Leah Patterson... black widow! LEAH Shut up! (she hits him again and laughs). Dylan rubs his arms. DYLAN I’ll be covered in bruises by the end of the night! LEAH Good! Her phone rings. LEAH Damn! (gets her phone), Stella, calm down! Yeah, okay. Okay! I’ll be right there. (she puts her phone in her bag), I’m really sorry. I have to go. Dylan nods slowly. DYLAN It’s okay. Another time then. LEAH Yes! Most definitely. DYLAN Have a good night. LEAH You too. She leaves and bumps into Charlie. She say hello to each other, before taking their separate ways. Charlie sits at the bar, Dylan moves to sit by her. DYLAN Peace offering. CHARLIE What do you want? DYLAN Just to say I’m sorry. I know I can be a bit full on sometimes. CHARLIE (Sighs), Dylan... It surprises me that any women actually fall for you. Dylan touches his chest. DYLAN Ouch! Dude, that hurt! CHARLIE (smiles) You are nothing like him. DYLAN Nope. I’m fun. I don’t have a constant “Be serious” (he mocks Roman) face. She laughs for the first time, honestly. DYLAN Friends at least? CHARLIE (Nods), I suppose we can be friends. DYLAN Great! Its good to see you out of uniform by the way. Not that I don’t mind the whole cop fantasy. CHARLIE You really don’t know the limits when talking to people, do you? DYLAN Probably not. She laughs at him. DYLAN I want to get to know you better. She raises an eyebrow. EXT. BEACH – NIGHT DYLAN and CHARLIE walk on the sand. Dylan begins stripping. CHARLIE What are you doing? Dylan looks at the water. DYLAN Going for a swim. CHARLIE You’re crazy. DYLAN Yep! He starts taking off his pants. CHARLIE Wait... what? DYLAN What? Charlie’s never tried skinny dipping? CHARLIE I’m a cop remember. DYLAN So...? CHARLIE Its against the law Dylan. (she shakes her head). Dylan shakes his head. DYLAN I’m not breaking any laws Charlie. That’s something you have to learn. We’re not breaking the law, we’re bending it. Charlie is still unsure. DYLAN Stop being like Roman. Let go. Have fun. CHARLIE I’m not... I have fun! DYLAN Prove it. Charlie looks at the water, and takes off her shirt. Dylan laughs, before he pulls her and kisses her. For once, she doesn’t fight back. DYLAN Come on. Charlie looks unsure. CHARLIE Bending the rules. Not breaking them. DYLAN Exactly. The two run into the water. END CREDITS NEXT TIME on HOME and AWAY S.1 – NICOLE is talking with GEOFF. She accidentally tells him what Aden did. ‘I didn’t... you didn’t hear it from me!’ ‘Nicole. If Aden doesn’t tell Belle, I will.’ ‘Geoff!’ S.2 – GEOFF meets ADEN outside the surf club. ‘Hey!’ Geoff jumps on Aden, and starts hitting him. Aden fights back, before Hugo and Roman break up the fight. Hugo then turns on Roman. ‘You! What did you do?’ ‘I slept with Joey’. Nicole slaps him. ‘If you don’t tell her... I will.’ S.2 – MARTHA and HUGO are in the kitchen. ‘What?’ Martha begs him. He then kisses her passionately. FADE TO BLACK EXT. BEACH – MORNING XAVIER and HUGO are running along the beach. XAVIER So what’s the go between you and Martha? HUGO (shakes his head) Nothing. Can you just drop it? XAVIER stops XAVIER Hugo! Why can’t you just tell me? HUGO (turns angrily) Because it doesn’t concern you! HUGO runs off in the opposite direction. XAVIER is left standing, he looks up to the surf club and notices RUBY watching him. INT. SURF CLUB – MORNING XAVIER enters and finds RUBY playing pool with ANNIE and JAI. He walks up to them hesitantly. JAI What do you want? ANNIE Jai. He looks to her. JAI What? I still haven’t forgotten what you did. XAVIER And I’m not asking you to. (he looks at Ruby). I just wanted to talk. RUBY nods to her friends. RUBY What? XAVIER Can we go somewhere else? RUBY If you have something to say, say it here. XAVIER looks around, nervously. XAVIER I love you Ruby. I always did. (his nerves all but vanish.) I’ll fight for you. You’ll see that I’m the one for you. Just wait and see. He then walks out of the surf club. EXT. SURF CLUB EXTERIOR – MORNING RUBY runs up to XAVIER. RUBY Xave! He turns, and notices she has tears in her eyes. RUBY Xavier. I can’t. XAVIER Why not? RUBY (cries) I don’t want to be second best for you. If you want me, I have to be your only one. Do you understand that? XAVIER Yes Ruby! That’s what I’m trying to say. (he sighs) I know I hurt you in the past, just know now that, I’m the one for you. I know I’ve made my fair share of mistakes, but now I see the one thing I did that wasn’t a mistake. Falling in love with you. RUBY wipes her tears, before jumping into his arms and kissing him passionately. INT. HOSPITAL – DAY BELLE is looking through her bag when IRENE and RACHEL walk into the room. BELLE I can’t wait to get out of here. IRENE Me too love. BELLE looks at RACHEL BELLE Thank you Rachel. RACHEL That’s what I’m here for. BELLE (to Irene) Have you found Aden yet? Irene shakes her head. INT. ROMAN’S HOME – DAY GEOFF and NICOLE are sitting on the couch kissing. She moves to take his shirt off. He smiles hesitantly, before she slides it off him. GEOFF What if Roman comes home? NICOLE He won’t be back until late this afternoon. NICOLE kisses his chest. GEOFF What about Aden? NICOLE He won’t be back anytime soon, not after what he did to Belle. GEOFF What did he do? NICOLE sits up and bites her lips. NICOLE I don’t know. But whatever it is, he’ll fix it. GEOFF Nic, what did he do? NICOLE sits up and pouts. NICOLE I knew I couldn’t keep it a secret. GEOFF Nic? NICOLE Aden did something... he needs to tell her... ADEN turns around. ADEN What do you want? GEOFF Hey! GEOFF knocks ADEN to the ground and starts punching him. HUGO races and pulls them off one another, whilst ROMAN pulls back ADEN. HUGO What’s going on here? GEOFF sneers at ADEN GEOFF Ask him! ROMAN Aden? ADEN looks at GEOFF, still struggling to break free from ROMAN. ADEN Nicole! I knew she wouldn’t keep her mouth shut! GEOFF You bought this on yourself! How could you do that to Belle?! ROMAN Aden? What did you do? ADEN elbows Roman in the gut, and attacks GEOFF again. HUGO and ROMAN break it up yet again. This time, HUGO pushes ROMAN. HUGO You! Stay out of it! ROMAN Don’t bring our fight into this! HUGO Our fight? I told you something personal and you told Martha! I trusted you! ROMAN She had the right to know. HUGO (huffs) She had the right to know! Roman... just stay out of my life. ROMAN Gladly. ROMAN walks away. INT. HOSPITAL – NIGHT ADEN knocks on the door. BELLE looks ups surprised. BELLE Aden! ADEN Hey (he kisses her on the forehead). BELLE What happened to you? ADEN I just... BELLE If you’re scared about the baby, then so am I. You have nothing to worry about. ADEN It’s not that! He looks up at her, tears in his eyes. ADEN There’s something I have to tell you. BELLE What...? ADEN After our fight... I slept with Joey. BELLE bursts into tears, and begins to hyperventilate. BELLE Get out! ADEN Belle... BELLE Get out! Just get out! END CREDITS NEXT TIME on HOME and AWAY S.1 – LEAH learns that DYLAN was with CHARLIE. ‘I thought he was a decent guy!’ She cries, Rachel hugs her. S.2 – CHARLIE confronts DYLAN ‘I would have said you were nothing like Roman, now I see your just like him!’ S.3 – DYLAN arrives at CHARLIE’s door. ‘There’s something I have to tell you.’ S.4 – MARTHA is in the kitchen, she feels dizzy, picking up her phone, she calls ROMAN.
