They seemed to have the same theme as last year with the pics sliding from left to right. I wish they were longer, you could hardly see them as it whizzed by so quickly. Closer Each Day Posted January 19, 2009 Report Share Posted January 19, 2009 Maybe I need to see it in the context of the episode in order to criticise it fully but the opening is beyond awful. It sounds as though you've been thrown right into the middle of the song. Of course we actually have but they made no effort whatsoever to make it.....flow? It just jars me. But otherwise I'd rate it as one of the show's best themes for nearly a decade, if not THE best theme the show's seen. It would have been better to have "You know we belong together...," into a "reacap" bed - BEFORE the titles, then after the recap go into the chorus. When I heard they were going to be castless and 15 seconds long, I didn't think I would but they are a hell of a lot better than I thought. But I just wish the cast were in them. If you need to hear more of it listen to the 2009 Closing theme that's on the site. I think the panning across the locations/scenery is a brilliant idea and I like the colours they've used.
