Checkout Chick!

Hated it. Hated trying to be friendly to people for 9 hours every Saturday when you'd rather be anywhere but there. The girls I worked with were awesome though, the checkout supervisors were old and craggy.

Other than a couple of weeks watering a garden and a week of work experience, my first real job was as a junior shop assistant at my local Video Ezy. It lasted from January 2006 until last July, when I decided to start at university. I enjoyed the work, although I often had problems with time management, and the free rentals were a definite bonus.

big W nightfill. Many of the people are nice and friendly, but like everywhere else, you have the obligitary douchebag.

Only thing I hate about the job is the customers, and that the boss can't seem to properly explain what to do, so I have to ask him like 3 times what needs to be done to iron out his instructions.

Also had a paper route last year, but $29 for 400 papers and walking up vertical hills wasn't worth it so I quit.

Same. And I hated it too lol. It was a totally crappy job but the people I worked with almost made it worthwhile. I went to school with most of the part-timers there, so breaks, slacking off, and after work parties were always fun lol.

My first real job? I can't remember, the amount of jobs I've had in the last two years are unbelievable! The bosses were terrible and the customers were always cranky when I worked in shops and cafes and crap. GET A REAL JOB PEOPLE! Don't waste two years like I did. :P

I worked in a shop, it was awful because the managers hated us all but there were tons of other temps my age so we did manage to have a good time when possible. And I did meet Rowan Atkinson and Claudia Schiffer which was cool. But yeah, pretty much the only reason I'm sticking it out with uni is so I don't have to work in a shop again, hopefully.
