Chapter one

“So, you can start tomorrow” Mr bartlet said patronisingly to the girl in from of him. She was very petite with long brown hair tied tightly into a ponytail. They were discussing her enrolment in the school, but he couldn’t help notice her attire. She was simply wearing a hooded jacket with a plain white top underneath, worn out jeans and worn out trainers. The outfit did not look clean and hair didn’t either. He couldn’t say anything though, it would just be rude and there were students around.

In her hands were her school uniform which she had just purchased and on her back was a dark green bag with hole in the corner. Aden watched from his locker smirking at how he was treating her. A fake smile plastered over his face, not wanting to seem unkind. He too had noticed the dirty appearance of the girl. There was dirt on her clothes as though she had been sleeping outside.

Aden sighed as he thought back to where he had slept the night before. If she had been sleeping rough, he knew how she felt. He was snapped out of his thoughts as he heard Mr bartlet say how he had to be at a meeting and said goodbye to the girl. She smiled and turned around giving Aden the first glance at her face. Her skin was smooth, with two thin pieces of hair outlining her face, Her face was tanned slightly and her brown eyes glistened in the light.

She noticed him looking at her and smiled slightly as she walked pass. Aden returned the smile shyly and watched as she walked down the hall.

“Oi!” He heard someone yell at him “I saw that!” they exclaimed. He turned around to see Axel heading towards him.

“What” Aden said confused

“Smiling at the hobo” He stated “Darren saw her sleeping on the beach. You don’t want nuttin to do with her”

“Whatever” Aden said shrugging it off, shutting his locker.

--

Aden spotted her again as he entered the diner. She was sitting on the sofa in the corner with her legs pulled up to her chest, reading a magazine. Irene was stood disapprovingly down at her, noting her shoes her dirty, marking the fabric. Roman walked out of the kitchen and Aden automatically turned his gaze to the floor not wanting to talk to him. He would have gone somewhere else for food, but this was the cheapest place around and he didn’t have much money to spend. He looked around and noted that there was no one else sitting by themselves. There was a couple in the corner and a few of the younger students he didn’t know gossiping.

He rolled his eye’s realizing what he had to do. He seriously did not want to talk to Roman. He had seen him pinned to the floor by his father and he could feel the pity in Romans eyes. He didn’t want pity, from anyone. Instead he headed towards the sofa where the girl was sitting. He new Roman wouldn’t talk to him about anything personal in front of someone else.

The girl looked at him confused as he sat down next to him peering over the magazine she was reading. He didn’t say anything, instead watched Roman sigh and return back to the kitchen.

“Uh.. Hi” The girl said snapping Aden back to reality.

“Oh hi” He said smiling.

The girl figured he was mucking her around. She had had people from the school be mean to her or pretend to be nice in order to get to her. She hadn’t even had a day at school and people were treating her like dirt.

“Aden” He stated holding out his hand to her. She looked at it for a moment cautiously before taking his hand and shaking it gently.

“Belle...”

They looked at each other for a moment before she returned her gaze to the magazine and flipped the page.

“Want a drink?” He asked trying to spark conversation. He wanted to stay her and get food without an interrogation and figured this was the simplest to do it.

“Look I don’t need sympathy” She said getting agitated.

“No sympathy.. Just a drink?” He said smiling. Her eyes narrowed but decided that a free drink was a free drink.

Great first chapter, looking forward to seeing where you take it from here and how their relationship develops :D

Great start!

I love how Belle is just as fierce and independent like she had been at the beginning of the show. And, of course, loving the sweet side of Aden.

More soon please!

xoxo
