Her trembling body shook as she lay protectively in his strong arms, which were wrapped around her waist while she cried and mumbled a few words every now and then. The boy had no words to say to her that would make her feel any better so the only sound that echoed into the cold, dark night was her sobs and him trying to console her for the seven hundreth time within seven hours. After what seemed like hours, but in reality was only about ten minutes that they lad lay there, Aden Jefferies heard no more sounds from his girlfriend of three months, Belle Taylor, so he glanced down and saw her curled up in his arms fast asleep, her breathing even apart from a hiccup once in a while.

Both Aden and Belle had just suffered through a very long day so Aden let her sleep where she was, even though it was uncomfortable for him. He wouldn't dare to wake her just so he could move around so he stayed in the same position all night with her, in front of the small glowing embers of the slow burning fire that he had made earler that night to keep her warm. The beach could be so harsh at night. Aden soon learnt that, as around two in the morning, the wind picked up quite strong and blew some sand and freezing water into their directions so Aden slid off his jacket, carefully so he wouldn't disturb Belle, and wrapped it around her to protect her from the bitter cold of the night.

Morning came as the sun rose at seven thirty and Aden had not slept a wink all night as he watched over her to make sure that if, at any time of the night, she had woken up, he would be there to comfort her back into her sleep. Aden was hurting too, but not as much, but he didn't show any emotions to Belle, keeping his feelings locked up until he knew he was alone, but that may take a while as he wasnted to be by Belle at every moment that he could. Irene had passed away the earlier night after a short but violent battle of cancer.

When Belle awoke from her deep sleep, she looked around to remember where she was and tilted her head back and peered up at Aden, who had his eyes shut but was not sleeping, only listening to the waves crashing onto the shore. Soon enough though, the events of the day before came flooding back to Belle and she started to cry once more. As soon as Aden had heard her first whimper, his eyes opened and his strong arms tightened around her shaking body, trying to calm her down. He kissed the top of her head and mumbled a few words that even himself couldn't understand. Belle knew she felt very safe in his arms and she wished that he would never let her go so that they could stay like that forever and watch the days pass by without another worry in their young, in love, lives. Aden glanced down at his girlfriend and swiped some hair from her eyes with his thumb. She turned around to face him and buried her face in his chest, still weeping but not as much as before. Her arms were wrapped around him and she didn't let go.

Both sat on that sandy beach for almost an hour, Belle's crying had stopped but Aden still gave her kisses and words of comfort, which helped. Aden got up and helped Belle up before starting to walk back to her place. Aden kept his arms firmly around her shoulders for if she felt weak or wanted to cry again, he would be there to give her comfort and to support her, physically and mentally.

Back at Belle's house, which took ten minutes to get to, opposed to the usual five, Aden helped Belle get into her bed and he pulled her blanket over her. He knew she needed a decent sleep and they both knew it well. Belle got comfortable then glanced over at Aden, who was looking through her bookshelf and trying to distract himself, and she gave him the slightest smile, even though he couldn't see it. "Come lie down, you need to sleep too." Aden put down the book he was looking at and nodded, walking over and laying next to Belle. She placed her head on his chest and closed her eyes, listening to his heart beat. Ba boom. Ba boom. Aden played with her hair, plaiting and un plaiting. They both fell asleep in each others arms and stayed that way for the rest of the day.
