Kirsty Appreciation Thread

I used to adore Kirsty. I found her rather relatable and feisty yet with a touch of vulnerability.

But ever since Kirsty's returned to Summer Bay they've pretty much tried as hard as they can to trash KK and her character. Bartlett was in the wrong but I'm not suprised he fired her. She was truly incompetent and a massive idiot. The you've got her going from Kane to Miles to possibly Kane, and then becoming an escort?

However that's here nor there being the appreciation thread. I'm still a fan and I adore her with the gorgeous Ollie (though where's he disappeared to?). And I've found her and Miles to be quite sweet. I just wish the writers would utilise her better. Some continuity and reference to the past wouldn't go astray. They had apt opportunity with Matilda (they were each others last familial links to the Bay), and lately with Martha (her cancer/pregnancy/miscarriage storyline is VERY similar to Kirsty's kidney disease/pregnancy/miscarriage storyline).

As for reading a couple of comments about people thinking she dresses skanky. What??? I have yet to see her wear a bikini. And although she has a couple of short skirts, I've seen much shorter on Leah, and especially Nicole!!! There's no way I'd say her style is 'slutty'. I think that people are grasping at straws there.

Kudos to you! I like how Kirsty hasn't changed much. Maybe she should now that she's a mother and 21, but it's just Kirsty and I like it. She's been through a lot. C'mon, Rhys and Shelly as parents... :P Just jokin'!

I think the writers have thrown away a lot of opportunities with her and I think the way she is being written isn't doing the character any favors. I would have liked more Kirsty/Irene time and maybe more Alf time, too. Oh, and Colleen time!

The skanky dressing comments were most likely dished out by the people who have no other reason to hate her. Most of these types of UNTRUE comments stem from the posters that follow the crowd. I find it sad. But Kirsty's style is far from skanky.

Anyway, moving on. I hope Kirsty makes the right decision from now on.

I like her a lot so i hope she has a happy ending

in today's oz ep I felt really sorry for Kirsty.Miles was quite selfish for kicking her out, maybe he should'nt have done so because of poor little Ollie. The scene where she left the SB house was very touching with her saying goodbye to Jai and that she would ring him in the morning.

My opinion of Kirsty has changed hugely over this past week.I loathed her a couple of weeks ago but now I love her and I hope she stays on.

I can understand that she wants to do everything in her power to try and Kane .She is not even a full blown escort so I dont really know what his problem is.She only goes on dates-whats the harm in it really.

It annoys me the direction they have taken with Kirsty. I liked her a lot more in 2000-2005. Sure obviously she'll change in 3 years, even more so with what her, Kane and Ollie went through, but I feel as though the writers could have done SO much more with her.

Most of the people who didn't watch the show back then probably don't like her all that much, where as when she was on a few years ago she/Kane were probably much more liked.

I think they definitely could have used her in a much better way. She should have stayed more true to Kane. It wasn't that long after he was in jail that she was with Miles. She was still madly in love with Kane yet in a relationship with someone else?

I dunno I feel they missed opportunities to make her a very liked character. I mean I still like her, but not as much as I used to. And I was also so excited to see KK come back and although a lot was quite good, I think it could have been done MUCH better.

Ok random post I just havn't expressed my opinions yet in a post about kirsty I don't think haha.
