Friday the 13th? The youth of today will probably expect Jason to be in that, but he was in the sequels, right?

Jason was what made Friday the 13th famous, if he hadn't shown up in the sequels, the movie would be just another low-budget 80s slasher. The remake/reimagining (whatever you like to call it) will have both Mrs. Voorhees and Jason in it

although Mrs. Voorhees dies near the start

. I'm looking forward to this though - mainly because Marcus Nispel is directing it, and he directed the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which I thought was great.

I have news that may be shocking: Martin Campbell of GoldenEye and Casino Royale fame is remaking his classic miniseries Edge of Darkness for the cinema with Mel Gibson as Craven and Robert DeNiro as Jedburgh. Having been somewhat underwhelmed by the original, I'm optimistic about this one.

That's interesting. I didn't watch the original- was it the series about nuclear contamination, or something? All I remember about it was that it was terribly frightening and my parents watched it avidly. I was absolutely terrified of nuclear war when I was little, though, so it probably wasn't as frightening as all that
