^^I just love that song. Absolutely beautiful, but heartbreaking.

Anyway, please excuse the random bump, but I've spent the last few days listening to the Rascal Flatts version of 'What Hurts The Most' [Also a very sad song] and have come across another of theirs. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already, but anyway:

Rascal Flatts - 'Skin'

Sara beth is scared to death

To hear what the doctor will say

She hasn't been well

Since the day that she fell

And the bruise, it just won't go away

So she sits and she waits with her mother and dad

Flips through an old magazine

Till the nurse with a smile

Stands at the door

And says will you please come with me

Sara beth is scared to death

Cause the doctor just told her the news

Between the red cells and white

Something's not right

But we're gonna take care of you

Six chances in ten it won't come back again

With the therapy were gonna try

It's just been approved

It's the strongest there is

I think we caught it in time

Sara beth closes her eyes

And she dreams she's dancing

Around and around without any cares

And her very first love is holding her close

And the soft wind is blowing her hair

Sara beth is scared to death

As she sits holding her mom

Cause it would be a mistake

For someone to take

A girl with no hair to the prom

For, just this morning right there on her pillow

Was the cruelest of any surprise

And she cried when she gathered it all in her hands

The proof that she couldn't deny

Sara beth closes her eyes

And she dreams she's dancing

Around and around without any cares

And her very first love was holding her close

And the soft wind is blowing her hair

Its quarter to seven

That boys at the door

And her daddy ushers him in

And when he takes off his cap

They all start to cry

Cause this mornin where his hair had been

Softly she touches just skin

And they go dancin

Around and around without any cares

And her very first true love is holding her close

And for a moment she isn't scared

--

I've quite literally only just discovered the song, and I have a little tear in my eye. For those wanting to hear it, it's on Youtube here

This is probably slightly baffling when you actually listen to the song and hear the tune, but I've just had a proper listen to the lyrics in Charlotte Church's 'Moodswings' and they're actually quite sad:

Now first of all I,

Wanna let you know that,

I've been known for some,

Minor moodswings, now and then.

It all started back when,

People were doing me wrong and,

Because of my position,

I would hold my tongue for them.

Bad relationships, and people I thought were friends and,

People judging me, before they get to know a thing,

When you decided to step to me, It shows me so clearly,

You just wanna see, see the other side of me

Chorus:

And you dont know what I'm going through and,

You might think it's all about you,

But its everything,

I've been holding back,

It's just bad timing

To come at me like that

I try to keep my cool, thus,

That's what I try to do but,

It's so hard dealing with

People just like you.

I try to walk away from

Situations that run

Into complications

That make me lose control.

If I give in to you then,

It's what you want me to do,

And if I lose my cool,

Then I'm only pleasing you,

You know just how to push me,

My temperature is rising,

Blood pressure is building,

Im about to lose control...

Chorus

Im sorry did I,

Did i cross the line, I

Tried to warn you away,

Way ahead of time,

Im so frustrated that I,

Feel like I could cry,

This could be the time,

But Im not going out like that...

Chorus x 2

To come at me like that x4

It's also strange because it's one of those songs I put on when I want to listen to something that doesn't make me want to cry. 'Moodswings' causes me moodswings!

Colors of the Wind - Vanessa Williams. It's not make you cry sad, but it's sad because it is so true...

You think you own whatever land you land on

The earth is just a dead thing you can claim

But I know evry rock and tree and creature

Has a life, has a spirit, has a name

You think the only people who are people

Are the people who look and think like you

But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger

Youll learn things you never knew you never knew

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon

Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned ?

Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain ?

Can you paint with all the colors of the wind ?

Can you paint with all the colors of the wind ?

Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest

Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the earth

Come roll in all the riches all around you

And for once, never wonder what theyre worth

The rainstorm and the river are my brothers

The heron and the otter are my friends

In a cirle, in a hoop that never ends

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon

Or let the eagle tell you there hes been

Can you sing with all the voices of the mountain ?

Can you paint with all the colors of the wind ?

Can you paint with all the colors of the wind ?

How high does the sycamore grow ?

If you cut it down, then youll never know

And youll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon

For whether we are white or copper-skinned

We just sing with all the voices of the mountain

Need to paint with all the colors of the wind

You can own the earth and still

All youll own is earth until

You can paint with all colors of the wind

Never Should Have Walked Away, by Craig David

I'd been sitting trying to figure out the reasons why

You were always goin' out alone

I thought that you were meeting with some other guy

All those times you weren't at home

I was wrong but then I didn't understand

What you were tryin' to say to me

I thought that you were busy making other plans

And none of those included me

But then I always had too many insecurities

Why didn't I just decide to let it be?

[Chorus]

I never should've walked away

I should've been there for you, babe

I know I've handled this all wrong

I swear, I didn't know

Things ain't never gonna be the same

And I know I'm the one to blame

I've gone and left you torn, baby

But I didn't know

I remember it so clear when I got the call

It was the hospital on the phone

They told me how you slipped and had a nasty fall

And would I come and take you home

Now that was bad enough, but they had more to say

Felt like the words came out so slow

"I'm afraid she lost the baby but she'll be okay"

And I didn't even know

But now I see I should've been there from the start

Instead of letting it all fall apart

[Chorus]

I didn't know what was wrong

Girl I didn't know, no

I hope you know I never meant to hurt you, girl

But I was way too blind to see

That you were only tryin' to protect me, girl

I wish you'd had more faith in me

Now I realise that I've let you down

And you had reasons to act that way

I thought that you were cheatin' when you weren't around

That's why I had to walk away

But, girl, looking back

In spite of all that you've been through

I'm asking is there still a chance for me and you?

[Chorus (repeat)]

Miserable At Best by Mayday Parade

Katie, don't cry, I know

You're trying your hardest

And the hardest part is letting go

Of the nights we shared

Ocala is calling and you know it's haunting

But compared to your eyes, nothing shines quite as bright

And when we look to the sky, it's not mine, but I want it so

Let's not pretend like you're alone tonight

(I know he's there)

You're probably hanging out and making eyes

(while across the room, he stares)

I bet he gets the nerve to walk the floor

And ask my girl to dance, and she'll say yes

Because these words were never easier for me to say

Or her to second guess

But I guess

That I can live without you but

Without you I'll be miserable at best

You're all that I hoped I'd find

In every single way

And everything I could give

Is everything you couldn't take

'Cause nothing feels like home, you're a thousand miles away

And the hardest part of living

Is just taking breaths to stay

Because I know I'm good for something

I just haven't found it yet

But I need it

So let's not pretend like you're alone tonight

(I know he's there)

You're probably hanging out and making eyes

(while across the room, he stares)

I bet he gets the nerve to walk the floor

And ask my girl to dance, and she'll say yes

Because these words were never easier for me to say

Or her to second guess

But I guess

That I can live without you but

Without you I'll be miserable at best

Ladada ladada ladadaoh ohhh

And this will be the first time in a week

That I'll talk to you

And I can't speak

It's been three whole days since I've had sleep

Because I dream of his lips on your cheek

And I got the point that I should leave you alone

But we both know that I'm not that strong

And I miss the lips that made me fly

So let's not pretend like you're alone tonight

(I know he's there)

You're probably hanging out and making eyes

(while across the room, he stares)

I bet he gets the nerve to walk the floor

And ask my girl to dance, and she'll say yes

Because these words were never easier for me to say

Or her to second guess

But I guess

That I can live without you but

Without you I'll be miserable

And I can live without you

But without you I'll be miserable

And I can live without you

Oh, without you I'll be miserable at best

Yep, Disney's first try at Animated drama and it worked - I hope you agree that this song is so sad as it is so true in this world - racism, such a terrible thing :(
