tmg Posted January 25, 2008 Report Share Posted January 25, 2008 JESSICA Chapnik has become the latest soapie starlet to leave Summer Bay and head to LA. The actress and singer, who plays Sam in Home and Away, jets out today to spend three months in Hollywood doing an acting workshop run by legendary scriptwriter and director David Mamet and recording the soundtrack Ben Lee has written for the film The Square. The flick, written by actor Joel Edgerton and directed by his brother Nash, will be released later this year. Chapnik previously performed in the band Old Man River and toured with ARIA-award winning songstress Sarah Blasko. She met Lee, who is also pals with her boyfriend Nadav Kahn, from the band Kahn Brothers, at a music festival in Texas a couple of years ago - the pair also share the same Hindu spiritual teacher Sakthi Narayani Amma. It won't be the first time Argentinian-born Chapnik has lived in the US - she also studied at the Atlantic Theatre Company Acting School in New York for two years.
