Chapter 7 1 Week Later Martha paced the room, fiddling with her fingers. “Martha, what’s wrong?” Tasha asked. “You can tell me.” “I’m pregnant,” Martha said quietly. “Wow! But how?” Tasha asked. “The other night… I slept with Jack,” Martha said. “Oh my god. When are you going to tell him?” Tasha said. “I’m not going to. I can’t,” said Martha. “Why not?” Tasha asked. “Because I want to say tell him face to face. Not on the phone or through a text message,” Martha said. “Fine. If you think that’s right,” Tasha said. *** 2 Months Later “How are you?” Jack asked on the phone. “I’m fine… What about you?” Martha said. “Good. I miss you so much,” Jack said. “Me too. Time’s going really slowly without you,” Martha said, looking down at her growing stomach. “I know. I have got to go now babe,” Jack said. “Okay then. I love you,” Martha said. “I love you more,” Jack grinned. “That’s not possible,” Martha smiled. “Okay. Bye,” Jack said. “Bye,” Martha said. *** “How am I going to raise the baby without him?” Martha asked Tasha. “You always have me,” Tasha grinned. Martha smiled and gave her best friend a hug. *** 2 Months Later Martha and Jack were talking on the phone again. “If we were having a baby Jack, What baby names would you pick?” Martha asked. “One for a boy and one for a girl.” “Abby and Ryan,” Jacks said. “Why?” “Just wondering,” Martha said. “You know how nosey I am,” “Yeah I do,” jack grinned. “We’ve been on the phone for 2 hours,” Martha laughed. “I think I’ll head up to bed now babe. I understand she doesn't want to tell him over the phone but I don't think keeping this from him for so long is a good idea. At least, she knows which baby names he likes.
