Yes I remember that storyline clearly and it was actually a frightening backstory for Gary Samuels which goes to show how manipulative and dangerous he was.

From memory, Gary didn't intend to kill his parents as it was just a prank at the end of the day that backfired really badly though as you can see with his parents being killed.

It was never personal between Pippa and Ailsa though, in fact I remember when Pippa told Michael she was going to stop baking for the Diner, she said "I'm going to tell Alf Stewart where to stick his part time job," which is strange as it was Ailsa's business, but obviously the hatred was directed at Alf. I think Ailsa was just caught in the middle of it all.

There was also the falling out where Michael was supporting Lois Croft and the Stewarts had an arguement with Pippa and Michael before storming out their house, but in that case it was Pippa who was caught in the middle while Michael was the antagonist.

A storyline where Ailsa and Pippa truly fell out in a storyline of their own (not involving their husbands falling out) would have been a good emotional storyline but I don't think it ever happened.

What episode number did Alf tell Chloe to go somewhere and feed Olivia in private or something like that? I remember watching this scene back in 1998 when a woman complained to Alf that Olivia was breastfeeding Chloe in public....

Episode 2378
