valli
When I sing "Up where we belong", I always used to sing: Lord lift us up where we belong But then I saw the lyrics and I saw that it was: Love lift us up where we belong So I have been singing Lord instead of Love
Eli
Another famous one is "Hold me closer Tony Danza." Hahaha, I LOVE that one, I remember the first time I heard about that one on Friends, and I thought I would die laughing! I just found the funniest video on youtube about misheard lyrics. It's a Nightwish song, but the misheard lyrics are hilarious! If you're not a fan of Nightwish, you'll still love this. CLICKY "Hard Porn, we'll find a whip" Cal, are you trying to kill me? Ryan
When I sing "Up where we belong", I always used to sing: Lord lift us up where we belong But then I saw the lyrics and I saw that it was: Love lift us up where we belong So I have been singing Lord instead of Love I always thought it was God instead of Love. Heard kd lang song today, Constant Craving. In initially thought she sang God Sent Gravy http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9qFKN68GSDY
Eli
Haha!! I found another one today, I had to check out the lyrics for REO Speedwagon's "Can't fight this feelings" because I heard something that just couldn't be right. I heard "You're a candle in the window A corndog who's in the night" But I thought that was TOO WEIRD, and luckily I was right. The correct lyrics are: "You're a candle in the window On a cold, dark winter's night"
Kirsty&Kane4eva
"War! What is it good for, absoultely nothing." I had nooo idea that is started with War i thought it was saying WHA, i know that's not really a word but i thought it was more of a way of the singer expressing his feelings. Only discovered couple of months ago when we were studying protest songs in english and only 1 person in a class of 20 odd knew that it was actually a WAR protest song!! Siog Alainn
I love these videos on youtube! Also remembered a radio station doing this. At the time in Ireland there was an ad for 11811, a directory enwuiries number and people had misheard it as a lemon ate a lemon My favourite misheard line ever is U2's Mysterious Ways. Instead of "she moves in mysterious ways" someone had heard it as "shamu the mysterious whale"
rennyren
Ahahahaha, that's golden. "Shamu, the mysterious whale" should totally be the words.
halcyon06
When I was really young, like between 5-9, when Home and Away came up, instead of singing ''Hold me in your arms'', I would sing ''Hold me in your arse'' It makes no sense but like, I was 5!! bttb-rox!
When I first heard The Hoosiers 'Goodbye Mr. A' I misheard the line...''The world was full of wonder till you opened my eyes'', and thought it was...''The world was full of wombats till you opened my eyes''... . valli
^^ When I hear Shaggy sing "Mr. bombastic" I always thought he sang "Mister did you eat my pasta?" I don't even know how I managed to hear that
