And here is part 100! *Gives champagne to everyone in celebration* I'll start the next part soonish... Hope you all look forward to it and thanks for reading! (This feels like a goodbye. I'm going to stop now.) PART 100 “Get out.” “Kate, wait…” Kate shakes her head angrily. “You said that nothing happened… how could you do this?” “I didn’t want to upset you…” “Just… leave please?” Chris sighs. “Kate… I love you.” “Yeah and that’s why Mandy is expecting your child.” “Mandy was a mistake!” Kate shakes her head. “So were you. You lied to me, Chris. I’m sorry, but… I need to be alone right now.” Chris nods and puts a strand of hair in behind her ear. “I’ll call you tomorrow.” Kate looks at him seriously and suddenly smiles. “Okay. I just need to be alone to think about this…” “I understand. I love you.” Kate nods. “I love you too.” Chris looks at her one last time before walking out. “Jodi is very quiet…” Ada nods. “She’s probably sleeping.” “I don’t know… maybe we should go check on her.” “Okay.” Ada and Chrys slowly walk to Jodi’s room, softly knocking on the door. When there is no answer, Ada turns to Chrys. “Do you think she’s asleep?” He shrugs and pushes the door open. “She’s not here!” “Just one! Come on!” The barman laughs and hands Jodi another drink. “You’ve said that six times already.” Jodi shrugs, downing the drink quickly. “I lied! Deal with it!” The barman laughs and she checks her watch for a full minute before looking at him. “What’s the time?” “It’s two o’clock.” Jodi gasps. “I’m late! I have to go. Home. Here’s the money.” She hands him a few bills before staggering out of the pub and making her way to Ada’s house. “Hey. Who was that?” Paul looks up when Kate enters the living room, pouring herself a drink. “Mandy.” Paul’s eyes widen. “As in the Mandy Chris brought over?” “Yeah. She’s pregnant. Isn’t that Murphy’s law?” Paul puts his arms around Kate’s shoulders. “Kate…” “Oh, shut up, I don’t want to talk about it.” “Okay.” She quickly drinks the amber liquid before looking at Paul seriously. “He told me nothing happened. If nothing happened… how is she pregnant? And hasn’t he ever heard of protection? What if she has some disease?” Paul nods. “You should go to the doctor for a test…” “How about you and Jodi? Do you think you’re going to be able to sort things out?” “I have no idea.” “Jodi! Jodi, where are you?” Ada looks at Chrys desperately. “Paul still not answering?” Chrys shakes his head. “Nope. Neither is Kate… I have no idea where to look for her, Ada!” “Neither do I.” “Ada! Hello!” Ada turns around when she hears Jodi’s cheerful voice behind her. “Jodi!” Jodi looks at her seriously. “You never told me you were a twin.” “You’re drunk again? Jodi, this has to stop!” “Who are you looking for?” “You!” Jodi thinks for a minute. “Oh. You? Hello, you! Can you hear me, You? You! Where are you?” Chrys and Ada share a look before grabbing her arms. “Come on. We’re going home.” Jodi looks at them miserably before starting to sob. “Nobody loves me…” “I mean… it’s like we’re talking around each other, you know? And I need another one, this stuff is good.” Kate makes a grab for the bottle, falling off the couch. She starts laughing hysterically and Paul grins, looking down. “You have bad aim!” He reaches for the bottle and tumbles down, landing on top of Kate. “Hello.” She smiles. “Hi.” They look at each other seriously, their faces drawing closer… Paul puts his hands in behind Kate’s head as their mouths meet an a passionate kiss… They break apart when Hayden starts crying in a room, not far away. Kate frowns. “I’m going to check on him…” “I’m coming with you.” They walk to Hayden’s room and Paul picks him up carefully. “It’s his diaper…” He quickly changes it and puts Hayden back in the cot before turning to Kate. “Sorry for kissing you… It was…” He looks at her seriously before pulling her close and kissing her again… THE END.
