PART 1

“Finally!”

Kate Ritchie kicks off her shoes and falls back on the couch.

“I’m so tired and I’m so not looking forward to the Logies tonight.”

Amy Matthews sits down next to Kate and puts her arm around her shoulders.

“Why not? Nerves?”

Kate nods.

“I hate feeling so… vulnerable. People expect me not to be nervous, but I am. And going alone – after this whole scandal with Corbin and my name constantly being dragged into scandals with Chris… it makes it so much worse.”

Amy looks at Kate, a bit surprised.

“You never talk about that!”

“Yeah, what am I supposed to say? I just have to grin and bear it. Besides, a lot of people are worse off than I am.”

“Yeah…”

They look at each other silently, thinking about Jodi’s recent ordeal when Chris Sadrinna falls down on the couch beside them.

“Man! I have such a headache! What’s up Aimz?”

Kate rolls her eyes and leaves without a word while Amy frowns.

“You and Kate still not getting along then?”

Chris shakes his head, his lips pressed together angrily.

Amy sighs – being friendly of nature, she finds conflict hard to handle.

“I don’t understand it! Both of you are good friends with the whole cast but when you get together it’s like fire and oil!”

Chris shrugs, avoiding Amy’s eyes.

“Well it’s not my fault. Little Miss Diva expects me to treat her like she’s a goddess.”

“That’s not true! Kate is not a diva!”

Chris shrugs, still avoiding Amy’s eyes and she stands up, rolling her eyes.

“Well the two of you better start getting a grip. Daniel is getting fed up with you.”

She stands up and leaves. Chris sits back and looks down.

Kate’s shoes are still lying on the ground next to the couch and he picks it up.

“Not a diva at all. I wonder if she wants water with these.”

Holding the shoes in one hand, he walks to her dressing room.

“Well, if you are going to be checking out other girls everywhere we go, then our relationship is useless.”

Rhys rolls his eyes.

“Oh, come on Indiana! You’re over reacting!”

“Am I? You have a wandering eye, Rhys. I can’t cope with that. If I’m not good enough for you…”

“Indi, don’t do that!”

“Maybe we should just be friends.”

She walks out and Rhys shakes his head.

“Fine!”

He slams the door shut and falls down on the couch.

“I will NEVER understand girls!”

“Hey Jodz… I made you some coffee.”

Paul sits down next to Jodi, handing her a cup of steaming coffee.

“Thanks, Paul.”

“How are you doing?”

She shrugs, her eyes shining with tears.

“I’m okay… it’s still hard to get used to. I still want to call him… tell him how my day was…”

A tear finally drops, making its way down her cheek and Paul puts his arm around her.

“Oh, Jodi…”

She holds onto him, sobbing while he softly strokes her long dark hair, wishing that there was something he could do. Something to make it all better.

“Hello, Kate speaking.”

“Kate, this is Corbin. Don’t hang up. Please.”

“What do you want, Corbin?”

“I just… I wanted to tell you how sorry I am.”

“Yeah because that’s going to change everything.”

“No it’s not… Kate, I didn’t want you to find out like that.”

“Corbin, if there’s a perfect way of telling your partner that you used her to get publicity – please tell me. I could use a laugh.”

“It wasn’t like that… not exactly.”

“Not exactly? Corbin, you’d better be honest with me.”

“I do like you… It’s just…”

“Let me guess, one girl not enough for you?”

“I didn’t mean to hurt you!”

“Good bye, Corbin.”

She throws the phone away from her, and falls down on the couch – allowing herself to cry for the first time in weeks.

Gee, thanks for all the feedback people! Didn't think so many of you would like it! Here's the next part!

You can give me ideas on who you'd like to see together, I might just consider using some!

PART 2

Chris S throws Kate’s dressing room open and frowns when he sees her lying on the couch, sobbing her heart out.

“Oh, come on! You’re crying if I don’t say hi to you? A bit dramatic, don’t you think?”

Kate sits up, her eyes flaming.

“You know, not everything is about you, Chris!”

He rolls his eyes and throws her shoes down on the floor.

“Well I brought you this, Little Miss Diva.”

She rubs her eyes and glares at him.

“Why do you always have to be an idiot?”

“You bring out the worst in me.”

She shakes her head and Chris glares at her.

“Oh, please, like you’re so innocent! You hated my guts from the moment we met!”

“That’s not true! I tried to be nice to you!”

“No you didn’t! You’re the famous Kate Ritchie – people worship the ground you walk on! Well guess what, not this one!”

He shots her a last filthy look before leaving her room. Kate shakes her head and falls down on the couch again, biting her lip.

Sharni frowns when she sees Indiana coming her way.

“Hey, what’s wrong?”

“Rhys.”

“You guys broke up again?”

“Yes and it’s for good this time. I don’t even want to talk about it. I’m out of here.”

She walks out and Sharni shakes her head.

“For good this time. That’s what you said the last three times.”

“Jess!”

“Hey Bob!”

Jessica turns around at the sound of her name, rewarding her secret boyfriend with a kiss on the lips.

“How are you?”

She puts her arms around his neck and smiles.

“Much better now.”

“So hey, are we going to the Logies together?”

Jessica frowns, biting her lip. “Bobby…”

“I know, I know. Us dating is a secret. But… no one has to know. We’ll just look like good friends.”

Jessica smiles lifting her head up to kiss him again.

“Does that mean I can’t kiss you tonight?”

Bobby shrugs with a naughty smile.

“Well I have to tell you – if either of us wins a Logie, Australia will see a kiss that they’ll never forget!”

“Amy!”

Amy Matthews and May Mizzi both look up when Daniel shouts. He frowns at them.

“Don’t do that.”

Amy Mizzi winks at Amy Matthews and smiles.

“Which one?”

“Rachel.”

Amy Matthews sighs before standing up.

“Yes, Dan?”

“Where the hell is Chris?”

“Which one?”

“Sadrinna.”

Amy shrugs.

“I haven’t seen him since way earlier.”

Daniel frowns.

“How about Kate?”

“Don’t know. Her dressing room perhaps?”

“I just hope those two aren’t somewhere biting each other’s heads off.”

Chris (S) kicks a small bin away as he enters his dressing room.

“Fantastic move, Sadrinna! If she didn’t hate your guts before, she does now!

Why can’t you just ask her what’s wrong? The bloody woman is already crying and what do you do? You make it worse! Brilliant! I'm an idiot.

He falls down on the long sofa and looks at the roof.

“She really just knows how to tick me off! Couldn’t they have made Brad fall in love with someone else?”

“Kate? Hey! What’s up?”

Kate looks up through her tears as Mark enters her dressing room – without knocking of course.

He sits down next to her and puts his arm around her shoulder.

“You’ve been crying! A lot!”

Kate shakes her head.

“It’s just… everything! It’s Corbin and the job and the Logies and Chris… I just can’t take it anymore… I can’t me Miss Sunshine anymore…”

“Hey…”

He pulls her closer, stroking her shoulder uncomfortably.

“No one expects you to be Miss Sunshine all the time…”

He frowns for a while and then shrugs.

“Okay so maybe they do. But it’s okay to have a bad day once in a while. Everybody has them and we’ll all be here for you if you feel like talking, okay?”

She nods against his chest, sniffing child-like.

“Do you want me to talk to Sadrinna? I will…”

“No. It’s okay… It’ll just make things worse.”

“What are you going to do?”

“I’ll just ignore it! Thanks for the talk, Mark.”

“Anytime.”

He hugs her and she looks at him.

“So who are you bringing to the Logies tonight?”

Mark grins, his face turning red.

"Rachel..."

"You two still going strong then?"

"Yeah... Hey, I could organize a friend for you..."

Kate shakes her head quickly.

"That's okay... really!"

The other Chris is Kim... but his not im my fic - so far! Thanks for the feedback! Any thoughts on Rachel yet? Make her up or make her Rachael Beck?

Here's the update:

“Has anyone seen Jodi?”

Paul frowns when he hears Daniel’s frantic calling.

“No, why?”

“She’s supposed to be at the salon, but she’s not there! I swear I’m going to…”

Biting his lip, Paul picks up his cell phone, punching in Jodi’s number.

“Hey this is Jodi! I’m not available right now but leave a message and I’ll get back to you soon!”

“Jodi, this is Paul! Where are you? Dan’s looking for you, you’re supposed to be at the salon! Is everything okay?”

Looking worried, he puts his phone down and walks out.

Tim frowns when he sees Paul walking out hurriedly.

“Paul! Where are you going?”

“I’m going to look for Jodi! Maybe something happened!”

“Mate, wait…”

Paul ignores Tim, rushing out, having no idea where to start looking…

“Hey Rhys.”

“Hey Sharni.”

“So, I hear you and Indi are out. Again.”

Rhys sighs, nodding.

“The girl just asked for my autograph! I didn’t even flirt with her, Sharni!”

Sharni shakes her head, putting a hand on Rhys’s shoulder.

“Look, you know Indi was afraid of this relationship to begin with. Maybe you should just be friends.”

Rhys shakes his head.

“I love her Sharni. And I don’t want to be just friends with her, I want to be her boyfriend.”

“But…”

“No, don’t but me. I’m going to get back with Indi before the Logies tonight. Watch me!”

Mark pushes Chris Sadrinna’s dressing room door open and glares at him.

“Hey Mark!”

“What the hell is your problem with Kate?”

Chris frowns, holding up his hand.

“What have I done?”

“Like you don’t know!”

“I’ve just been here inside my dressing room! Okay, we had a bit of a tiff, but it wasn’t that serious…”

“Serious enough to make her cry!”

“Well if that makes her cry, she’s way too sensitive for this business.”

“What did you say to her?”

Chris stands up looking down at Mark.

“I don’t think it’s any of your business, mate.”

Mark grabs Chris’ shirt and glares at him.

“Let me tell you something, mate. Kate is like a sister to me. If you ever so much as make her frown, I will act like Ric and punch your brains out.”

“I’d like to see you try.”

The guys glare at each other for a minute then Mark lets go.

He looks at Chris angrily.

“You should get an attitude make-over. You’ve been a prick to Kate since day one and she’s done nothing to you. Frankly, I’m getting sick of it.”

He leaves, almost walking over Ada.

“Hey!”

“Sorry Ada.”

“It’s okay. What’s wrong, you look like a bear with a toothache.”

“Chris said something to Kate, I have no idea what.”

Ada frowns.

“We all know they hate each other, what’s the problem?”

“Kate’s really upset… I just… I hate seeing her like this.”

Ada nods slowly.

“She in her dressing room?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, I’ll go talk to her. You just… stay clear of Chris, okay? He’s not a bad guy… the two of them just… don’t understand each other.”

Mark nods absently and Ada rushes off to Kate’s dressing room.

“Knock knock!”

Kate looks up and smiles when she hears Ada’s cheerful voice through her closed door.

“Come in, Ada!”

“Hey. I just ran into Mark.”

Kate shakes her head.

“I’m fine. I had a weak moment, not a nervous breakdown.”

“Yeah but if you keep bottling everything up, a nervous breakdown is exactly where you’re going.”

She sits down next to Kate, looking at her compassionately.

“Kate, it’s normal to be angry and sad. Don’t deprive yourself of that.”

“I’m not depriving myself of anything.”

“Yes, you are. You want to be strong all the time and no one can be that.”

“I just… I’m scared that if I let myself feel the way I know I want to feel… I won’t be able to control it.”

Ada sighs and hugs Kate.

“You don’t have to be strong all the time. As long as you know that.”

“I do. Thanks Ada.”

Ada smiles.

“Now come on! Indi and Rhys broke up again and Rhys wants them back together before the Logies! Intervention!”

Kate can’t help laughing at Ada, and hooking their arms through each other’s, they run off to help Rhys win Indi back…

How could I say no to someone with such a gorgeous avatar? Your wish is my command!

LOL thanks for the feedback and here's the next part!

“Dan, please – just call her.”

Daniel B shakes his head.

“Guys, as sweet as this is… I can’t. It’s not policy and…”

Ada rolls her eyes and throws her hands in the air.

“Ugh!”

“Ada…”

She runs off and says something to Kate.

Kate nods and walks up to Daniel.

“Hey Dan.”

“No.”

“Come on, Dan! Please just call her, please? I’m begging you here! Just stuff the policy for once… do it for Rhys?”

Rhys makes a puppy-dog face and Daniel sighs.

“Fine, I’ll do it!”

“Yay! You’re an angel!”

Kate throws her arms around him and kisses him on the cheek, attracting a surly look from Chris Sadrinna.

“Don’t even think something.”

Chris looks to his side to see Mark standing next to him, eyeing him warily.

“Don’t act like you know what I’m thinking, Furze.”

“What if I do?”

“Trust me. You don’t.”

“Hello? Daniel? Is anyone here?”

Indiana frowns, slowly pushing the door open. Why on earth would Dan call to tell her she has to do some scenes over and then just leave?

“Daniel? Anyone?”

She shakes her head and turns around.

“Indi, wait.”

Indiana turns around.

“Rhys?”

“Look… just come in. Please.”

“Rhys, I need to start getting ready for the Logies, I have an appointment at the hairdressers in an hour…”

“This won’t take long…”

He takes her hand and leads her inside… as soon as they are both inside, Rhys closes the door and turns on the light…

“Rhys… this is amazing!”

Indiana walks through the room, amazed.

“How did you do all this?”

“I had a little help. Okay, a lot of help.”

Indiana laughs, picking up one of the hundreds of pictures decorated around the room.

“Who helped?”

“Sharni, Mark, Jess, Dan, Tim, Bobby, Ada, Nic, the Amy’s and Kate. And most of the crew too! Look around you Indi…This is what we share. Why would I give up the most beautiful girl in the world for any other girl? I love you. Please… give me another chance.”

Kate takes a deep breath as she looks in the mirror.

“Wow!”

She turns around and her eyes widen.

“Callan! What are you doing here?”

She rushes towards him to give him a hug and he swoops her up in his arms.

“I heard you had a bad day, so I thought I’d come and cheer you up.”

“Well you’re coming to the Logies, aren’t you?”

He bites his lip, looking down.

“You’re not? Callan!”

“Look, I’m just… not ready. To face people.”

She lifts her hand and softly touches the scar, stretching from his lip to the left side of his jaw.

Callan closes his eyes to stop himself from pulling away and grabs Kate’s wrist.

“Don’t. Please.”

“Callan, you went out before…”

“Yes and everybody stared at me like I was some kind of monster!”

“We didn’t.”

“You are all actors.”

Kate frowns.

“That’s not fair. You know we didn’t act. You’re not a monster, Callan. You’re the sweetest, most caring person I know.”

“But I look like a monster. A little like Shrek, you know. This ugly scary thing with the heart of gold.”

“Stop saying that! You’re not ugly, Callan!”

“Please, Kate! People stare when they see me, and the only roles I get are bad guys – because my new look suits that! Just… leave it, okay.”

“I can’t let you think that.”

“Well you can’t change what I think either.”

He smiles at the motherly worry in her eyes and squeezes her arm.

“Good luck with the Logies. You look beautiful.”

He winks at her and leaves. Kate sits down, stroking over the soft material of her ravishing green dress, frowning at her reflection in the mirror.

Paul stops his car quickly when he spots a car next to the road. He jumps out immediately, running towards the car. Jodi is sitting behind the steering wheel, looking dejected. Her face lights up when she sees him.

“Paul!”

“Jodz, what are you doing here?”

“My stupid car broke down and my cell phone’s battery is dead. And my Logies dress is in the car, I couldn’t leave it.”

“Okay, come with me – we’ve been worried about you.”

“What am I going to do? I missed my appointment at the salon, they’re never going to fit me in now!”

“I know someone! Just get your stuff and come!”

She smiles and kisses him on the cheek.

“Thanks, Paul. You’re the best!”

He puts his arm around her waist and looks down at her.

“I know. And you’d better not forget it!”

Hey here's the next part... there's some graphic-ish bits, not exactly sexual but still a litte... hottish!

here you go and thanks so much for the comments!

“Kate! Kate, over here!”

“Look at me Kate!”

“Over the shoulder!”

“Smile!”

Kate smiles at the thousand photographers, trying her best to look at all of them without scrunching her face up.

“Kate look at me!”

She turns her head and her face lights up when she sees a tall guy with a hat on standing behind the photographer…

Her smile brightens when he winks at her and then looks down again, careful not to be noticed for who he is.

Kate slips away from the photographers as soon as she can, tapping the mysterious figure on the shoulder.

“Callan!”

“Shhh! Not so loud! Come with me!”

He grabs her hand and drags her along until they reach a dark alley.

He pulls her in and takes off his hat.

“Tadaa!”

Kate smiles at him.

“Well you’re here. But why are you hiding?”

“Hey, I came. That should be enough.”

“Well are you at least going to sit with us?”

Callan softly touches his face and closes his eyes.

“I’m not staying, Kate.”

“Why not?”

“Can’t you see? It’s supposed to be a happy night. They don’t want me here to ruin the beauty.”

Kate looks at him, tears forming in her eyes.

“Don’t say that!”

He puts his hand on her chin and looks at her.

“Don’t cry Kate. You’ll ruin your make up. You can’t accept the Gold Logie with smudged make up.”

She smiles sadly and he looks at her silently.

“I just wanted to come tonight – to say good luck.”

“Thank you.”

He pulls her into a hug and she closes her eyes as she rests her head against his chest.

“Callan?”

“Hmm?”

“Could you just tell me… why?”

He pushes her away softly.

“Right after the accident… my fiancée came to visit me in the hospital. When she saw me she started crying and ran out. The next morning the ring was delivered to my room.”

Kate gasps.

“That’s… awful! You deserve so much better!”

“So much better isn’t going to fall for Frankenstein.”

He shakes his head and stars walking away.

Kate hesitates for a minute and then pulls him back towards her with force and kissing him fully on the lips.

She grabs onto his shoulders as his tongue enters her mouth, her knees getting weak.

Callan picks her up, pushing her body against the wall and his body against hers.

Kate pushes her head forward, kissing him harder and dropping her handbag on the ground, exploring his broad shoulders with her hands.

Callan lifts his hand to turn her face sideways, his tongue exploring the depths of her mouth. He pulls away when her cell phone starts ringing shrilly.

“Saved by the cell.”

Kate looks at him breathlessly, her eyes fixated on him.

He bends down to pick up her handbag and takes out her cell phone.

“Ah. John Holmes. You should answer.”

He hands her the phone and she reaches for it, her hands shaking.

“John…”

“Kate where the hell are you? No, don’t even tell me! Just get in here please as soon as possible!”

The phone beeps in her ear and she puts it in her bag.

“John… says I have to go inside…”

“So go.”

He smiles at her and lowers his head to kiss her again.

“Kate, I’m not sorry about what just happened.”

“Neither am I.”

Amy looks up as Kate enters.

“There you are! And have you seen Jodi? She’s nowhere to be found and neither is Paul.”

Kate looks at her distractedly.

“Sorry… did you say something?”

“Kate, what’s going on?”

“Nothing… much.”

Amy frowns and Kate looks up, smiling.

“Oh, look – there’s Paul and Jodi.”

“Wow!”

The whole cast look amazed as Jodi and Paul walk towards them.

Tim stands up smiling.

“Jodi! You look…”

“Gorgeous!” Jon exclaims.

Jodi smiles.

“Thanks guys.”

Sharni pulls a chair out next to her.

“Where were you?”

“Long story… I’ll tell you later.”

She frowns when she sees Rhys and Indiana coming back inside.

“Back on?”

“Yep.”

“Oh brother. They’re on and off… like fireflies.”

Sharni nods.

“Tell me about it.”

Jodi smiles at Paul coyly and he winks at her.

Blushing, Jodi leans forward to touch Kate’s arm.

“Hey, are you nervous?”

Kate nods.

“A little… It’s such a big night.”

She looks towards the stage, realizing that she was NOT talking about the Logies…

Well thank you all for your lovely comments im glad you enjoy the fic.

I decided to write Sadrinna's wife into the fic (thanks for telling me Traceve, i really had no idea he was married, where did you hear it??)

And here's the next update - credit to Kate Ritchie for the speech.

Kate looks down as her phone beeps and grabs it to read the text message.

It’s from Callan.

You get that Gold Logie tonight, and there is no getting rid of me… You deserve it, babe.

Jodi looks at her suspiciously.

“Is everything all right, Kate?”

“Yeah, sure.”

Jodi smiles at her.

“You’re going to get that Logie, it’s no contest.”

“Thanks, Jodz. Where were you today? We were all worried.”

“My stupid car broke, so Paul came to the rescue!”

She looks at Paul over her shoulder.

“I owe him.”

Kate smiles as Jodi sits back, her head too full of Callan to really think of anything else.

Jodi looks at Paul with a bright smile.

“So what do I owe you? My life?”

“No… but you do owe me the first dance at the after party!”

“Deal!”

“Kate looks great, doesn’t she?”

Callan jumps when he hears a voice behind him, where he’s residing in a corner watching what’s going on inside on a big screen.

“Ian? What are you doing here?”

“Came to look.”

“Why aren’t you inside?”

“Why aren’t YOU inside?”

Callan sighs, shaking his head.

“Okay, you have your reasons and I have mine.”

Ian nods and looks at the screen again.

“I wonder who will win the Logies.”

Callan shrugs.

“Kate will get both categories she’s nominated in. Otherwise Australia is blind.”

“What about best new actor?”

Callan makes a face.

“As long as Sadrinna doesn’t get it. His head is big enough as it is.”

Ian frowns. “It’s not that big. He’s nice… with most people.”

“Most people except Kate.”

Ian looks at Callan quietly.

“You care about her a lot, don’t you? Kate, I mean.”

Callan sighs.

“I do.”

“And the Gold Logie goes to… Kate Ritchie!”

Kate closes her eyes, blood rushing from her face…

Callan swings around taking five with Ian.

“I told you!”

Jodi grabs onto Paul’s hand, her fingernails digging into his skin.

“She got it! Yes!”

Ray pulls Kate close.

“Congrats, love. You deserve it more than anyone I know.”

Sharni takes five with Mark as Kate walks up to the stage.

“This is great! I’m so happy for her!”

Mark laughs.

“Me too!”

He leans forward, touching Chris’ shoulder.

“Oh and mate… you give her the standing ovation with whistling and clapping. Unless you want the magazines to find out what a prick you are.”

Chris sighs.

“Mark, we were friends before today. Can we just…”

“No.”

Chris shakes his head and Mark sits back, smiling. The small redhead next to him takes his hand.

“What was that about?”

“Don’t worry about it Rachie. Some cast talk, that’s all.”

She nods slowly and he beds down to kiss her.

“I love you.”

“You too.”

“Wow! Thank you so much… um… no one probably understands how much this award means to me and I probably won’t be able to articulate it very well, um..”

Kate closes her eyes and takes a deep breath, her hands trembling.

Callan… oh boy… Relax Kate.

"Firstly I would like to thank the seven network for their unwavouring support. I am forever having people approach me and tell me that they have watched me grow up on television and that they know me or they feel like they know me and I think for a long time I felt the need to be who that person was and to be who everybody else thought I was and to do what they thought that I should do and I think that over the last few years I’ve realised that it’s much more rewarding and…"

Outside Callan smiles. No one understands how much it means, eh?

"…and um its much more rewarding to do just whatever you feel is right and to follow your heart and winning this tonight proves to me that I must be on the right path and I’m going to continue that. I would like to thank TV week and to everybody that voted for giving me the opportunity to stand up here and rather than to be embarrassed about being that girl that grew up and got her first bra on the telly and that puberty wasn’t very kind to…"

She falls silent as the crowd laughs.

Chris Sadrinna looks at her, barely aware of Carol sitting next to him. Carol touches his arm, looking bored.

“Chris, I want to go. Michelle and Emma are…”

“With a babysitter. I need to be here, Carol.”

“… thank you so much.”

Up on the stage, Kate has finished her speech and is now walking down again. Chris feels a push in his ribs and stands up applauding, a grin on his face. He looks at Mark when he sits back down.

“Happy?”

“Ecstatic.”

“Fantastic.”

thanks for the comments. here is yet another update - lol im inspired today!

PART 6

“Amy was the best! I’ve never in my life, heard such a fast speech! You were talking like you had to catch a train!”

Amy sticks her tongue out at Nic, her eyes shining.

“Say what you want, I will treasure tonights memory for years!”

Nic looks over his shoulder at Kate, who is standing at the bar, her Logies on the counter behind her.

“There’s someone else who will remember this night! Hey Kate! Come here and bring those Logies with you.”

Kate walks towards him, laughing and hands him both the Logies.

Nic takes it and holds it up.

“Cheer for the golden statue, everybody!”

He laughs when the cast clap their hands and winks at Kate.

“You looked like you could use some attention.”

“Yeah, thanks Nic! Give me the Logie.”

He holds it against his face, looking at her naughtily.

“No. Nic wants Logie…”

“Fine, keep it.”

“Really?”

“No.”

She makes a grab for the Logie but Nic holds it up high above his head.

“Come and get it, shorty!”

She puts her one arm around his waist, reaching for the Logie with the other, laughing while Nic tickles her side.

“Nic! Stop it!”

Without anyone noticing, Sharni creeps up behind Nic, grabbing the Logie out of his hand.

“Gotcha!”

“That’s cheating!”

“No it’s not! You lose! Ha!”

Nic swirls around, bowing in front of Amy when the music starts.

“Put down that Logie and dance with me, Matthews.”

Amy lifts a brow.

“Yeah, you’re asking so nicely.”

She does however walk into his arms and they dance away.

“You owe me.”

“Yeah, I know!”

Paul takes Jodi's hand and leads her onto the dance floor, both of them smiling happily.

“May I have this dance?”

“Callan! You…”

“Told you you weren’t getting rid of me tonight.”

She puts her arms around his neck and softly presses her body against his.

“Is that a promise?”

He pulls her even closer, lowering his face.

“It depends on how you look at it.”

Kate smiles.

“It’s a promise.”

She puts her hand behind his head and smiles.

“And maybe I should show the cast that I got more than a Logie tonight.”

“Look at that!”

Jodi stands still and slaps Paul on his chest.

“Callan and Kate…”

Paul stares at them, frowning.

“That is very close dancing.”

Jodi looks at him.

“It’s kissing, you idiot. They’re kissing.”

Paul looks again, raising his eyebrows.

“Oh. Well there’s something I didn’t expect tonight.”

“It’s so romantic! And they look so happy.”

Paul nods, looking at Jodi.

“Yeah. It’s amazing.”

“Oh my…”

“Don’t say that!”

“They’re…”

“Kissing!”

“More like…”

“Eating each other’s faces…”

“And enjoying it!”

“A lot!”

Bobby and Mark look at each other in shock.

Mark nods.

"Good work Bobby, that was cool. But..."

“Kate and Callan? That’s… wow…”

Mark nods again.

“Yeah… They look… busy.”

Bobby nods.

“Yeah, but it looks like fun. I’m going to look for Jess now.”

Mark frowns as Bobby leaves shaking his head.

He walks to the bar, smiling at Jodi and Paul.

“Hey guys! One more drink on me!”

“Ouch!”

Jodi laughs as she bumps into a table.

“Shh… John is shleeping… sleeping… we have to be quiet… like moushes… mice.”

“Okay!” Jodi replies in a loud whisper.

“OUCH!”

Paul swears when he bumps into a couch, almost falling right over it.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah… ouch… I’m… ouch… fine… ouch…”

Bumping in to almost everything on their path, they finally make it to his room.

Paul turns, facing Jodi.

“You really look great tonight…”

“Thanks. You look good too.”

He picks her up and carries her to the bed, kissing her as they fall down…

PART 7

Callan pulls Kate closer and she throws her arm around his naked chest, looking up at him.

“Thank you for coming tonight.”

“Oh, trust me – it was worth it.”

“Oh yeah?”

“For sure.”

He pulls her up against his body until their heads are at the same point.

He pulls her closer and kisses her passionately. Kate succumbs to his kiss, grabbing fistfuls of his hair.

Callan shifts his one leg over her, collapsing on top of her.

She looks at his face above her, softly tracing the scar with her finger.

She looks at him sternly when he wants to pull away, and lovingly caresses his face with her fingertips.

“I could get rid of it. The scar. If you want. I’ve heard of this plastic surgeon, he…”

“Don’t you dare! It makes you you. I love it.”

“Daddy!”

Chris Sadrinna smiles as he lifts his youngest daughter, Emma, up into the air.

“Hey darling! Why aren’t you asleep?”

“I wanted to watch you on TV!”

“Did you see me?”

“Yes! And I saw Auntie Kate, she looked prettyful!”

“Yes. She did, didn’t she.”

Carol enters, looking at Emma disapprovingly.

“Why aren’t you in bed? Where’s Michele?”

“Here I am, mum!”

Michele runs forward, hugging her father’s legs.

“Everyone looked so stunning! Daddy, can I go to work with you tomorrow please please please?”

Emma nods enthusiastically.

“Me too!”

Chris nods. “Sure! I’ll ask uncle John if it’s okay, but I’m sure he won’t mind!”

Emma claps her hands.

“Yay! Last time I went to work with you, Auntie Kate singed to me, will she sing to me again?”

“If you ask her…”

Emma looks at her mother.

“Mommy, did you think auntie Kate looked prettyful tonight?”

Carol smiles.

“She did, honey.”

Michele shakes her head.

“Jodi looked prettierer!”

“No she didn’t!”

“Yes she did! Jodi is the prettiestest person in the world!”

“No she isn’t!”

“Yes she is!”

“No she isn’t!”

“Okay, okay, girls! Jodi and Kate are both very pretty, but if you fight about it, you’re not coming with me tomorrow! Is that clear?” Chris looks at them sternly.

Emma and Michele both nod silently, careful not to jeopardize their plans for the following day.

Carol looks at the girls, smiling.

“Now go to your rooms. Both of you.”

They run along happily and Carol looks at Chris.

“Kate did look good.”

“I guess.”

“You guess?”

“Well the last time I saw her tonight, I couldn’t distinguish her from Callan.”

Carol frowns.

“You sound jealous, Chris.”

“I’m not. Trust me.”

“Why don’t you like her, Chris?”

“Who?”

“Kate.”

“Are we going to make her our new household discussion subject?”

“You’re not answering my question.”

“Yeah? Well… because… I don’t know, okay. She just manages to… get on my last nerve.”

Carol nods silently, looking at her husband with a frown.

“Wow.”

Kate bursts out laughing and Callan frowns.

“What are you laughing about?”

“Wow? That all you can say Mr Mulvey?”

He shrugs and softly strokes her arm.

“Yeah, I’m not so good with words.”

Kate cuddles up against him, looking at him happily.

“Well then it’s a good thing you’re good with something else…”

“Ooh, let me show you how good…”

Kate laughs, shaking her head.

“Not now… I have to get ready for work… feel free to stay in my bed until I get back…”

Jodi sighs when an alarm goes off somewhere above her head.

“Five more minutes.”

She frowns when she feels a warm body next to her.

“Pooky, what are you doing in the house?”

“Pooky?”

Jodi sits up and screams at the same time Paul does.

They look at each other and finally stop screaming. Paul remembers how to speak first.

“What are you doing in my bed?”

“Exactly what I want to know!”

“I can’t… remember… what happened last night?”

Jodi glares at him.

“Oh! You… I… Oh!”

“Yeah, I didn’t quite catch that.”

“Did we…?”

“I think…”

“We did, didn’t we?”

They look at each other for a minute and Jodi covers her face with her hands.

“I was wasted!”

“Yeah… so was I…”

Jodi looks down and quickly pulls the covers up. They look at each other silently. Jodi frowns.

“Uncomfortable…”

“Tell me about it… Who is Pooky?”

“My dog.”

Paul sniggers.

“Your dog is named Pooky?”

“Shut up.”

Thanks for your fantastic comments guys! And here is the next part:

PART 8

“Jodi! Paul! There you are!”

Scott Hartford-Davis (director) frowns when Jodi and Paul walk into the studio, both wearing large sunglasses.

“You’re late!”

Kate, who is sitting next to Scott, slaps him rather hard.

“Softer. You sound like you’re talking over a microphone.”

She sighs.

“I have a headache. I think I’m coming down with something.”

Scott glares at her.

“No, Kate. It’s a hangover.”

Nic looks up, his eyes glazed.

“So that’s why my head hurts… who spiked the punch?”

Jessica snorts.

“You didn’t drink punch, Nic. You downed champagne the whole night.”

“Did I? I can’t even remember…”

He frowns, looking at the cast.

“Can anyone remember what they did last night? Except Indi.”

“Why me?”

“Because you didn’t drink sweetheart. Jess?”

“Nope. Bobby?”

“Not really… Mark?”

“Not a thing. Kate?”

Kate blushes.

“It’s hard to forget. What about you two?”

Everyone looks at Jodi and Paul.

Jodi frowns.

“I don’t want to talk about.”

“Neither do I.”

Scott rolls his eyes.

“Fine, we don’t want to hear about it. Oh, by the way – Jack and Martha are getting back together with a bang, so prepare yourselves.”

Paul puts his hand on Jodi’s arm but she yanks away.

“I need some coffee. Excuse me.”

She leaves and Kate looks at Paul with a frown.

He sits down next to her putting his arm around her shoulder.

“So Kate. What did you and Callan do last night?”

Kate looks at him quietly and lowers her voice so no one else can hear her.

“I have the feeling the same as you and Jodi.”

Paul rubs his neck.

“Yeah…”

Kate frowns, her voice still a mere whisper.

“Paul! How could you? You know she’s not ready yet and she was drunk!”

“Yeah and so was I. We didn’t really know what we were doing…”

Kate frowns.

“Obviously.”

“Look, I know we were stupid, and hasty, but it happened. We just have to deal with it.”

“How?”

“I have no idea.”

“Auntie Kate!”

“Emma!”

Kate catches the little girl who is running towards her and swoops her up in the air.

“Did you come to work with daddy?”

Emma nods happily.

“You looked very prettyful at the Logies, Auntie Kate! Daddy said so too!”

“Thanks Emma…”

Kate looks at Chris over the little girl’s head, her eyebrows lifted slightly.

He coughs slightly and looks at Emma.

“Em… why don’t you go say hi to Indi?”

Emma claps her hands and immediately runs to find Indiana.

Kate looks around her nervously.

“Where did everybody go?”

Chris shrugs.

“You shouldn’t listen to what Emma says. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about half the time.”

Kate glares at him.

“Yeah, I know. Half the time she says good things about you. I’ll believe whatever she says the other half.”

“You and Callan looked like you had fun last night.”

“Well it’s not really any of your business, is it?”

She walks past to him, her head lifted high and her eyebrow raised.

“Jodi… we need to talk.”

“Go away, Paul!”

“Look, we’re going to have to have this conversation sooner or later.”

Jodi looks at him mockingly.

“I choose later!”

She playfully hits him on the shoulder.

“Talk to you later.”

“Jodi…!”

She ignores him, walking to her dressing room quickly.

Paul looks up to see Kate standing a few steps away from him.

“Shut up.”

Kate frowns.

“I didn’t say anything!”

“You were going to.”

“Jodi! Hey, where are you going?”

“Hey Aimz. I’m just… I need to be alone.”

“You okay?”

“I’m fine.”

“Not really, are you?”

“No.”

“Oh, Jodz…”

Amy (Matthews) walks to Jodi, giving her a hug.

“If you want to talk, I’m here for you.”

“Thanks Aimz.”

“Are you sure you want to be alone?”

“Yeah… thanks.”

Amy nods and leaves.

Jodi sighs and looks at the tiles for ten seconds before slowly entering her dressing room.

Thanks for the feedback and here is the next part! Hope you enjoy it.

“Hey Sadrinna.”

“Callan.”

Callan looks at Chris for a while.

“Have a good night last night?”

“Not as good as yours I believe.”

Callan frowns, looking at Chris.

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“I thought the meaning was clear. I didn’t take the Gold Logie winner to bed.”

Callan turns around, grabbing Chris’ collar.

“Do not say it like that.”

“Like what? How should I say it? Was she anything like the infamous tape?”

Callan doesn’t hesitate, he just swings his fist, hitting Chris through his mouth.

“Shut the hell up about her!”

Chris slowly gets up, wiping blood out of the corner of his mouth.

“I hope she’s worth it Mulvey.”

“Oh she is.”

“Mate, what happened?”

Nic looks at Chris in shock, seeing the blood on his face.

“It’s worse than it looks.”

“Yeah I hope so. Who got the better of you?”

“Callan.”

“Callan? Why?”

Chris shakes his head.

“I don’t want to talk about it.”

He walks away and Nic lifts a brow, laughing.

“That’s gotta sting.”

“What’s got to sting?”

“Callan just potted…”

Nic turns around and smiles sheepishly.

“Oh, hi Kate, it’s you, wow look at the time, I have to go before…”

“Nic!”

“Yeah?”

“What’s going on?”

He starts walking backwards slowly.

“Okay, Callan hit Chris but I have no idea why, can I go now?”

“What do you mean Callan hit Chris? Where is he?”

“Where’s Callan or where’s Chris?”

“Never mind!”

She rushes off to find Callan and Nic shakes his head.

“I do not want to be around when that comes to an explosion.”

“Paul, hey!”

“Hey Sharni.”

“What’s up?”

He shakes his head and Sharni looks at him with a small frown.

“This is about Jodi, isn’t it?”

“I messed up.”

“Want to talk about it?”

“I don’t know if I should… Okay, Jodi and I were both very drunk last night… things just… got out of hand and now everything’s… odd.”

“Wow.”

“You can say that again.”

“Yeah…”

“So… was it just a one night stand between friends, or are you in love with her?”

“That’s the problem. I don’t know.”

“You don’t know?”

“It’s complicated.”

“You’re kidding, right? Paul, relationships are complicated. Life is complicated. Jodi has been through so much… you guys really need to talk about this, sort things out. She’s been hurt enough.”

“Callan, just tell me what he said.”

“No.”

“Please?”

“No, Kate! Just let it go.”

“Well was it about me?”

“Kate.”

“Was it?”

“Yes. Are we done now?”

Kate sighs.

“Callan… I know that he can be an idiot and he’s frustrating… but just ignore him…”

“He talked about us… like you were some hooker I hired for the night. I just… lost it.”

Kate puts her arms around his waist and sighs.

“I understand.”

“I love you, Kate.”

She looks up at him.

“What?”

“I love you. Not since yesterday… I think I started loving you the moment I met you. I really really love you.”

She puts her arms around his neck, looking at him tearfully.

“I love you too.”
