Home and Away glamour girl, Holly Brisley is checking out of Summer Bay.

Brisley is leaving the popular soap after almost two years playing vixon, Amanda Vale.

"There is a sadness about leaving such a nice group of people, but I guess it is time to move on to the next stage," Brisley said.

Brisley wil take a short break at home in Sydney before she and her husband, Peter Ford, fly off for an 11- week holiday in Europe.

"We don't have kids, so it is the perfect time for us to do this". Brisley said having children was on her agenda.

"Definately in the next few years but not in the immediate future," she said. "I think it is nice to enjoy being married first.

I am really going to miss her. Summer Bay always needed a character like Amanda...a bitch who was a permanent cast member not just a guest.

Just as I was starting to really like her! Such a shame Hopefully she'll be back, even if it's only as a guest star. It sounds like she's definitely open to the idea.
