ON THE BEACH

Johnny and Kayla are sitting next to each other. Pippa is sitting on Kayla's lap.

KAYLA:

I don't understand. Why are you telling me all this?

JOHNNY:

I like you. You didn't judge me from the moment you laid your eyes on me and I'm used to people doing that. But the people in Summer Bay... they hate me Kayla. I didn't want you to find out about my past throught them and feel the same.

KAYLA:

So... what happened when you went to jail? With the gang I mean?

JOHNNY:

The guys found other gangs. Some even found other lives. Good ones. That's what I want. I don't want to be the person that I was anymore.

KAYLA:

Well that's good.

JOHNNY:

Do you hate me now?

KAYLA:

No, Johnny. I do not hate you. I'm shocked... but it's in the past. Right?

JOHNNY:

I promise.

KAYLA:

Well good. Maybe once the people here see that, they'll change their opion of you.

JOHNNY:

I doubt. They all hate me.

KAYLA:

Surely not all of them.

JOHNNY:

Yes. All of them! Even Rocco.

KAYLA:

Rocco?

JOHNNY:

He's my brother.

KAYLA:

I never knew he had a brother.

JOHNNY:

See what I mean? It's a close call of who hates me most between him and that Armstrong guy.

KAYLA:

Armstrong? You mean... Brad Armstrong?

JOHNNY;

Yeah... I don't really blame him that much, but...

KAYLA:

That's my father.

JOHNNY:

You're not serious!

KAYLA:

I am.

Johnny stands up, looking hurt.

JOHNNY:

I'd better stay away from you then.

KAYLA:

What?

JOHNNY:

Look, it's better that way. It's just going to make things harder the only friend I have is his daughter.

KAYLA:

As opposed to no friends at all?

JOHNNY:

I'm thinking about you and your father here.

KAYLA:

Well don't. Who I choose to be friends with has nothing to do with my dad.

JOHNNY:

Are you sure?

KAYLA:

Of course.

She stands up and hugs him. They sit back down again and Johnny puts Pippa on his lap.

JOHNNY:

Thank you. It means a lot to me. I've never had any real friends... I don't know how to be one.

KAYLA:

Smiles

Don't worry. I'll teach you.

FLETCHER HOME

Lucas and Cassie are sitting in front of the TV. The door opens. Rocco and Jane comes in. Cassie lifts a brow but snuggles up to Lucas, continuing to watch the movie. He puts a comforting arm around her.

ROCCO:

What are you watching?

CASSIE:

TV.

Jane smiles and Rocco sighs.

ROCCO;

Cassie, could we at least try to be normal?

CASSIE:

What's normal?

ROCCO;

Look, I'm sorry about how...

CASSIE:

Shh... I see Brad Pitt.

ROCCO:

Oh come on, this isn't...

JANE:

Wait, Rocco.

She walks closer to the TV and stands behind Cassie and Lucas.

CASSIE:

Her eyes fixated on the TV

Hi Jane. Sit down.

JANE:

Thanks.

She sits down next to Cassie and Rocco rolls his eyes.

LUCAS:

You know, mate, Angelina Jolie is also in this movie.

ROCCO:

Good point.

He sits down next to Jane and they all continue watching the movie.

ON THE BEACH

Johnny and Kayla are watching as Pippa smashes the sand castle.

JOHNNY:

I hope this doesn't cause a fight between you and Brad and Sally.

KAYLA:

It won't.

JOHNNY:

Are you sure about that?

KAYLA:

Yes.

JOHNNY:

How?

KAYLA:

I'm not going to tell them.

JOHNNY:

Shouldn't you?

KAYLA:

No, it's my business.

Checks her watch.

I'd better get home though.

JOHNNY:

I'll walk you.

KAYLA:

No, it's okay.

JOHNNY:

Right.

He picks up Pippa and kisses her cheek.

Bye sweetie!

He hands her over to Kayla. They look at each other and smile.

KAYLA:

Thanks for today. I had fun.

JOHNNY:

So did I.

KAYLA:

Okay... Bye then.

JOHNNY:

I'll call you.

KAYLA:

Okay.

They hug and Kayla leaves. Johnny stares after Kayla and Pippa with an evil smile.

watch out Johnny I have a stick , loved this chapter Kayla and Johnny are cute even though the shouldn't be , I like Rocco and Jane, Cassie needs to grow up.

That Johnny has stooped to even lower levels now using Kayla and little Pippa in his evil plan. Im still trying to work out what he might be up to. I love the tension between Rocco and Cassie i just hope they work things out real soon. Look forward to reading more soon.
