The Caravan Park

(Brad decides to turn back and check up on Mitzi)

He walks through the caravan park and notices something lying behind Mitzi’s caravan. He walks closer to inspect it.

BRAD:

Mitzi?

He screams when he sees her lying on the ground, blood streaming from a wound in her stomach.

BRAD:

Mitzi? What happened?

He kneels next to her and reaches for his cell phone. He dials a number.

BRAD:

Hi, this is Brad Armstrong. I need an ambulance at the Caravan Park.

OPERATOR:

What is the situation sir?

BRAD:

23-year old female, about 5ft4, bleeding from the stomach. It looks like she’s been shot.

OPERATOR:

Okay, sir – we’ll send over the ambulance as quick as possible.

BRAD:

Thanks.

OPERATOR:

Is she breathing?

Brad checks her pulse and listens for breathing.

BRAD:

No…

He throws the phone to the side and starts giving her CPR.

An ambulance arrives and the paramedics give her oxygen and lift her into the ambulance.

BRAD:

I’m coming with you.

He jumps into the ambulance.

SUMMER BAY HIGH – CORRIDOR

Sally and Dan walk along the corridor.

DAN:

I wonder where Brad is.

SALLY:

I have no idea.

DAN:

Maybe he’s still at home. Or in his office.

SALLY:

No, I checked his office and he left home before I did. He wanted to see if he could find Mitzi and Valerie. He should have called though.

DAN:

Well, I’m going to call Peter and ask him to keep an eye out for Brad as well as the girls.

SALLY:

Thanks…

HOSPITAL

Paramedics enter with Mitzi on a stretcher. Brad follows.

RACHEL:

Brad? What happened?

BRAD:

I think she’s been shot.

RACHEL:

Okay, I’ll let you know how she is.

BRAD:

Thanks.

THE CARAVAN PARK

Jack and Fitzy are walking between the vans.

JACK:

Where the hell could she be?

FITZY:

I have no idea. Let’s just check all the caravans.

JACK:

Yeah, come on…

(They walk in opposite directions)

FITZY:

Jack!!

(Shouts when she sees blood on the grass.)

JACK:

What?

FITZY:

It’s blood…

Jack kneels and sees Brad’s cell phone on the ground.

JACK:

It’s Brad’s phone…

FITZY:

I’m calling Peter…

She dials Peter’s number from her phone.

PETER:

Peter Baker.

FITZY:

It’s me…

PETER:

What have you found?

FITZY:

Brad’s cell phone and a blood stain on the grass.

PETER:

I’m on my way.

SUMMER BAY HIGH

Cassie and Matilda are standing in the corridor. Sally walks to them.

SALLY:

Hey guys.

CASSIE:

Hey Sal.

MATILDA:

Miss Fletcher.

SALLY:

Have you seen Mr Armstrong?

MATILDA:

Sorry, no.

Brad walks in and Sally walks up to him. She sees the blood stain on his shirt.

SALLY:

Brad! Are you okay?

BRAD:

I’m fine, Sal.

SALLY:

What happened? You’re bleeding!

BRAD:

Looks down at his shirt.

It’s not my blood…

SALLY:

Whose is it then?

BRAD:

Mitzi’s. I found her in the caravan park… it looks like she’s been shot.

SALLY:

What? Who would have done that?

BRAD:

I have no idea.
