Wow thats so cool! Thanks for posting it

But why didnt they mention jack and martha! <_<

I think a more important question is, why no mention of Robbie and Kim!? Surely they would draw more viewers than ANY other couple on the list :o!

Oh well, guess you can't have everything...

Hooray for the site! At last! Recognition :D

I don’t think it’s a true reflection of which couple are the most popular from the shows entire history…obviously that’s impossible to attain though.

Indeed it is, unfortunately we don't have that many prevalent members on here that have watched the show from the beginning, and even if there are they may not vote.

With the demographics of the show, most fans that come on the forum are in their teens, meaning the majority of couples that make the top 10 will be more recent ones.

Now we just have to wait patiently for no.1 spot to be announces, and impatience is my middle name :P

When I did the Most Popular Character in 2006 feature, I made a page that looked into the results a bit more mathematically. For instance, mulitplying many characters totals by the number of years they had left produced what people may say were more representative results.

Of course, those results are only more representative if you believe that's what the results should be.

That was interesting Ryan. I'm not much good with maths, but I pretended to know what you were talking about :P

One thing concerns me though. How can you tell if people are voting for 1988 Sally or 2006 Sally? What I mean is, Sally is still in the show and is very popular right now, but would you consider that to be flavour of the month, or would you factor in the idea that older viewers are voting for her as a consistantly popular character over the years?

Like I said, I'm not good with maths, so maybe you explained that and I just didn't get it :P

I've noticed in the current Villains poll that there are a lot of votes going to characters that have appeared in the last 3 years. I recognise all the names and like those characters too, but there are a few there that are being mentioned that I never saw who sound like they're in a whole other league, compared to the villains we have today. Because I never saw them, I don't have any attatchment to them and won't vote for them as my favourite, but I still think it's a shame that they could be outdone by newer characters when they sound so good.

I think there might be a way to get a more accurate reflection in these polls, but it would have to be a sort of honour system as far as voting goes.

If it were me, I'd say that you get extra votes depending on how long you've been watching the show:

0-1 years, 1 vote worth 5 points

2-4 years, 1 vote worth 5 points, 1 vote worth 4 points

5-9 years, 1 vote worth 5 points, 1 vote worth 4 points, 1 vote worth 3 points

10-14 years, 1 vote worth 5 points, 1 vote worth 4 points, 1 vote worth 3 points, 1 vote worth 2 points

15+ years, 1 vote worth 5 points, one vote worth 4 points, 1 vote worth 3 points, 1 vote worth 2 points, 1 vote worth 1 point

You could still vote for whoever you wanted, of course. Just because you've been watching the show for 15 years doesn't mean that you couldn't still have zoe, corey, sarah, mumma rose, charlie as your top five.

You might even have the points running the other way, to fit in with the time elapsed theory.

0-1 years, 1 vote worth 1 point

2-4 years, 1 vote worth 1 point, 1 vote worth 2 points

etc.

I have NO idea if that would work AT ALL, but... eh, it's raining outside, and this seemed like the thing to do :P
