Did you try that Iron tonic, Spatone, Pembie? For people's information, its iron rich water from somewhere in Wales. You get it in sachets and add it to fruit juice to help you absorb the iron. Its not unpleasant, its just water that tastes a little of metal. YOu can get it from Boots or any chemist I suppose.

I'm getting it this week I think Just got a letter through from the hospital for a capsule endoscopy to try and find out why I keep losing blood. But I can't sallow tablets and the pill they want me to sallow has a camera inside so I dont know how I will have it I don't want to bite it and break the carmera in a panic. :lol:so I am worried about it I hate hospitals with a passion.

I just found out that my Great Aunt was hit by a train and it really doesn't look good at the moment.

I'm really upset about this and I don't know what to do about it all.

She's such a wonderful lady, and I honestly don't know what I'd do if she didn't make it.

I don't even know what to do. :(

Focusing on one thing that hurts do badly is too painful. I really need something to make feel better. I hate the way I constanyly feel. I hate the way my actions hurt everyone I love & care about. Sometimes it would be so much easier if I wasn't around. I hate myself right now :(

I've got to got to the hospital in Stoke in October for an MRI scan, having the scan done because the heart specialist who I seen last month he wants me to get it done, as the wall around my heart, the blood is thick, so he wants it looked it. Thing is I'm a bit nervous about the scan, as I'm claustrophobic, so any tips on how to prepare myself etc, so I dont panic?

Thanks :)

Can I give you an honest reply? I know you posted this a few weeks back, but since you haven't had the scan yet (Unless it was brought forward) I expect you're still after tips.

Whilst Pembie is indeed correct -you ARE allowed to listen to music during the scan (I wasn't even given the option during my last scan, they just played music regardless) - it personally didn't help me. The combination of the scanner noises and the music was quite unsettling, even more so if it's a piece of music you've picked yourself that you would normally listen to uninterrupted. It may well help you, of course, so that's your decision to make.

I wont lie.... MRI Scanners are noisy! They start off fairly quiet, and then suddenly it's like a (rather loud) drilling noise around you. Your ears gets covered for you, but it doesn't make a huge amount of difference, IMO. You should try, somehow (though it may not be easy) during the start of the scan, to prepare yourself for a sudden loud drilling noise. It may very well make you jump at first though.

During my last few scans, I've found myself focusing on looking as much towards my feet as possible. It's not the easiest thing to do, since when you're lay flat, you tend to just stare upwards anyway, but if you can somehow get a glimpse of your feet/the open space of the scanner, instead of focusing on the machine around you, it may help ease the claustrophobia, even if just a little bit.

Thinking of hobbies tends to help to. During my second-to-last one, I spent the entire scan thinking of a TV couple I was obsessed with at the time. I thought of their current storyline, and even came up with a whole new fanfic idea during it! If you have a creative interest, try focusing on that. You've been learning to play guitar, haven't you? (I'm sure that was you, anyway) Try thinking of songs/music you'd like to learn to play.

There's no garauntee to any of these things I've suggested, since it's probably different for each person (and I can't really help with the claustrophobia issue), but they may be worth a try.

Good Luck with it :) xx
