Luc Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 I've just read on IMDB.com that Rhys Wakefield has a movie called The Black Balloon coming out in 2007! Plot Outline: All Thomas (Rhys Wakefield) wants is a normal adolescence but his autistic brother, Charlie, thwarts his every opportunity. Will Thomas, with the help of his girlfriend, Jackie (Gemma Ward), accept his brother? Cast (in alphabetical order) Toni Collette .... (in negotiations) Rhys Wakefield .... Thomas Mollison Gemma Ward .... Jackie (attached) Can You Believe It! It's so cool! I can't wait to see it!
Adia Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Wow, that is very cool. Epsecially seeing as Toni Collette might be in it as well. She's a really great actress!
emmasi Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 That's interesting. I thought that Rhys was gonna be playing the autistic kid. I was looking forward to seeing how he went with it. Ah well, this way looks like he'll be the star, and I'm all for that I just want it to come out now
~Lynd~ Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Yeah i thought he was gonna be the autistic kid to.....only becourse that's what you told me Jem!.....Oh well,it'll still be good.
emmasi Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Well that's how I read it. I was envisioning something like Leonardo Dicaprio in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" Wishful thinking I guess
~Lynd~ Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 I liked that movie,Leo was great in it.
Jazer Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Being autistic myself, I'm looking forward to watching this movie as I believe it will show us how hard things can be for siblings who have a brother or sister with Autism!! I also liked "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" it was a good movie. I'm not sure if this was based on someone who had Autism but I loved Sean Penn's performance on "I Am Sam"!!
