It suddenly went quiet, everyone looked at Sal. ‘Sh… she’s not, you know?’ Irene asked. ‘No she’s not’ 'It's just a bit overwheming, to see Cassie like that.' Brad went over and hugged his wife. 'It's going to be okay, you'll see'. As he kissed her head. Sally went over to Jake and Katie, ‘Mummy‘s a bit poorly.’ Katie looked up and said ‘has mummy, got a poorly tummy’ ‘Yeah she has, she’s having a big sleep. So she can get better.’ With that Katie went back to what she was doing. A little later on… ‘Jake, can you and Katie, take these drinks to Pippa and Joe outside’ 'thank You' Sal said. ‘So come on, tell us the truth, now the kids are outside'. Hayley said. ‘Cassie is in a bad way. They said, she’ll pull through. It will take a while. ‘Do they know what happened to her yet?’ said Hayley. ‘No, they don’t. Cassie is still in a coma’ Sally then began to tell them. That the hospital staff suspects, Cassie is a regular victim of domestic violence. ‘Oh my god’ Irene and Hayley, had shocked looks on there faces. ‘Poor, Cassie’ Irene said. ‘She has old rib fractures, various scars and old and new bruising’ ‘They asked how the kids were, I said they looked ok! Jake had a cast on his arm.’ ‘I told them I have no idea, what happened; I have got to take the kids. To be checked out.’ ‘Jeeez, that’s all Cassie needs right now’ Irene replied. ‘Yeah it is’ Said Sally. ‘Hye, Katie and you must be Jake. I’m Rachel’ Rachel picked up Katie and sat her on the hospital bed. Then began to help Jake. ‘I can do it myself! I’m a big boy’ ‘I know you are sweetie’ Rachel said looking at Sal. ‘Jake, I’m going to ask you a couple of questions’ ‘Okay’ ‘What happened, to your arm? Did you fall at school?’ Jake looked at Katie, ‘no I fell at home’ ‘Oh Okay’ ‘How long have you, had this awesome, superman plaster cast on for?’ ‘Err… Jake scratches his head and has a little think. ‘Four Mondays’ ‘Okay! What I think I will do is take another picture of your arm.’ ‘Then we will see how much you’re poorly arm has healed!’ ‘I’ll be back in a minute; Rachel reaches over and takes two lollies from the jar. ‘Thank you’, Katie said. ‘Your welcome sweetie.’ Rachel, then goes to the nurses station to chat to, Nurse Julie.
