She just felt lost. It was as though, with Eve dead, a part of her had died along with her. She didn’t even realize that the phone was ringing. When she did, she just remained where she was- unable to move. She was glued to the sofa. More like, she felt that the sofa had trapped her and wouldn’t let go of her. It was holding her captive.
