Ecstasy by Irvine Welsh. Some of the images he creates in this book are extraordinary. Has a book changed your life? I’ve been profoundly affected by quite a few, but I can’t say that any have changed my life. What’s your favourite book? There are a few: Perfume by Patrick Suskind, Immortality by Milan Kundera and John Steinbeck’sThe Grapes of Wrath. Where do you like to read? On the beach, on planes and on my balcony at home. What book inspired you the most as a child? That’s tough. There were so many. Are there any books you’ve read more than once? Absolutely. I have a habit of reading some books five or six times over.
