Andy Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 Ada finds home base Sunday Telegraph 28 May 2006 DANCING With the stars champ and three time Gold Logie nominee Ada Nicodemou has settled on the purchase of her first home. The long-time Home and Away star paid $785,000 for a four bedroom waterview property in her home suburb of Sylvania in Sydney's south where she will live with her fiance Chrys Xipolitas. Nicodemou was looking for a unit around Centennial Park when her mum alerted her to the old fibro home for sale . The star fell in love with the home, which features a large verandah overlooking the Georges River and sits on a big block with dozens of trees. The property, in the same street as Nicodemou's family, was originally passed in at auction before her successful offer. While the home is Nicodemou's first residential buy, it's actually her third in a burgeoning property portfolio. She has been investing wisely after building up a substantial nest egg from her TV work which began in earnest with Heartbreak High at just 16. Five years ago, Nicodemou bought a shop for close to $500,000 in Macleay St, Kings Cross in partnership with her brother. Three years later they bought another shop in nearby Victoria St. Nicodemou and Xipolitas plan to do only the bare basics to make the new Sylvania home more liveable, as it will be a few years before they knock it down to build their dream home. They have already ripped up the carpet, knocked out a few walls and plan to polish the floorboards and give the walls a coat of paint. Their biggest challenge will be the backyard of the 884sq m block, as neitherclaim to be gardeners. It's been a busy month for the pair. They also opened Chrys's bar and restaurant Zippos at Blakehurst last week, with a celebrity packed party of Nicodemou's fellow Home and Away stars and footie players, including Swan Michael O'Loughlin and Sharks' Darren Albert.
