Merc's... graphics?

Hey, I only today discovered the world of brushes, after working with Photoshop for some years (on and off).

Made these while just playing around. Are they really horrible?

First one.. Played abit with saturation/hue and levels, and made some butterflies:

Yes, I am a newbie.. sort of. I have done 3 years of focusing on art in high school, but I have never done brushes before, although I have used photoshop/illustrator for pretty much the same, only.. not with brushes, as I did not know they existed! *feeling dumb*
