H&A gives Australians a worse name - for example the Macklin Corporation storyline last year - it portrayed the residents of SB as people who were old-fashioned and wouldn't accept a change for the better (like what the developers wanted to do). Also, Neighbours does their storylines so much better - for example the Sky/Lana one. H&A's attempt at a gay S/L with Chris Fletcher was pathetic - everyone accepted him and the whole story was wrapped up in a neat little package within 2 weeks. The Lana story on Neighbours was more realistic. It went for months and even at the end not everyone accepted her. I wouldn't use that gay storyline as an example. Home and Away was under a talentless writer at the time. Everyone knows that. Even the writer of it is makes excuses. I'd find something else to illustrate that point. I don't think Izzy will do that to Paul though Remember, that Izzy left Darcy to die. A while ago Izzy and Darcy were arguing on a stairway and Darcy slipped and fell. Izzy planted some of her jewellery on him to make it look like he broke into her house and stole it. She then left him lying unconscious and went home and trashed her house to make it look like Darcy had broken in. This has shown that Izzy is capable of that sort of behaviour and will resort to any measures to save her own skin. As for Neighbours, I would be sad to see it go when it eventually gets axed. I have been watching it since the late 1980's. In recent years some storylines have been better than others.
