Unfortunately 5 won't be showing these new opening titles, they are for Australian broadcasts only

I am 4 weeks behind, yikes. However I did have a look at the episode in which they should have aired. Regular opening. Are they not been shown here?

This year they are wrapping up for the UK winter break on Thursday. Did they do this in previous years? I can't remember.

Not in the UK. We get Channel 5 via our Swiss tv, but it doesn't have 5Star.
Aaaaah OK gotcha. That's definitely a shame. I couldn't imagine watching in SD but would put up with it for a few episodes I guess. Interestingly decided once to watch on My5 ( via sky platform and smart TV ) instead of downloading via 5STAR. No HD on My5. Weird.
Edit: I also decided to start watching the show on RTE2HD a few years back as they show episodes exactly as they air in Australia. But it's geoblocked on sky. Grrrrrrrrrrr. So back to 5STAR it was/is.

Very annoying that there'll be no way to watch those episodes in HD. RTÉ Player and a VPN to the rescue methinks.

Has anyone found any info about which eps we're getting next week yet? Last year when they did this, it was published the week before which eps were coming the following week. As others have said, it would be good to have different ones. I'll be worried Monday morning if I sit down to watch and its the pilot episode
It appears that we are getting some that were shown last year but also some other eps into the mix. I'll take that

Do we think we will get a refreshed opening, with underscore, etc, when the season premiere airs in March? It's been five years since the last refresh now. I'm not fussed at all on the music they use now. 2007 to 2017 had the best music during recaps, IMHO. As for the closing credits, well, what else can they do with those now? I haven't even seen them in about four years bar a few seconds, and as I've said before im all for 7+ style closing ( in house seven promos would be even better but one can dream eh? Lol )
What do you guys think? Are we in for a refresh?

Big announcement guys. The UK winter finale will air on Channel 5 at 1pm on Friday November 17th and on 5STAR there are no episodes on that date.

ExpandMy5 on a computer is HD, oddly - as is the feed of 5 Star! My5 does have some content in HD via Sky and Virgin, but you have to access the content through your provider's interface, not go into the app.
ITV and Channel 4 used to work like this but because you can fast forward through the ads, they've followed the BBC in forcing you into the app - which is fine as both ITV X and Channel 4 Streaming are HD now. Channel 5 haven't gone there yet.
Has My5 recently gone HD on Sky now then? I need to check. Thanks
As I download the episodes from 5STAR, and in bulk lol, I thought let me watch it using my5. More space on my sky planner, but it was in SD and looked dire. But this was last year so will check that out.
5STAR definitely has been streaming in HD since the launch of sky glass so I guess that makes sense.
Channel 5 need to pull their HD finger out across the board !!

I have a mate that works at Channel 5 so I asked him. He said as far as he is aware the Australian credits have been solely created for Australian airings only during the Thursday triple eps. Shame.
