@Dan F may be able to give some better insight, but I believe the standard contract is and always has been 3 years, however his recent interview with Laura Vazquez shows some actors chose to leave earlier through mutual decision making with the producers. Dee Smart, however, who played Lucinda, was very publicly axed from the series.

Hard to think that 12 years ago, I was five and starting kindergarten! Rhys Sutherland was dating Beth Hunter, Sarah Lewis' rampage had not yet happened and the wonder team that was Julie McGauran and Coral Drouyn were in charge of the series. Hey Dan, I've been watching some old eps and I was just wondering: do you know how many times Morag actually cries? I know of 1993, 2003, 2007(? - Martha put her well into place) and 2011 (After Ross' funeral). Are there any other?

Just went back and watched it. There's still a hint of the word if you listen incredibly closely, but it does seem odd, considering they have used bitch five times so far in 1993.
