  3. I think that the show has changed because teenagers stopped watching. All the kids that I know don't watch TV at all, just streaming services. Also in one interview, Shane (John) said that they constantly needed to have high drama/ action storylines because they had to compete with other channels. If you look at TV programs it's either reality shows (high drama) or TV shows (a lot of drama, crime and action).
  4. In my opinion, the reasoning behind the change is that high school kids are not the main audience anymore. When I was in high school everybody in my class was watching H&A, nowadays I don't know anyone younger than 25-ish who is watching. If the main audience is older, their characters and storylines have to mirror that. I'm constantly winging on this forum about how bad the writing is. It is not that storylines are repetitive, but the actual writing is so bad, that I feel like the writers are insulting our intelligence. The fact is that H&A still gets high enough ratings and gets companies to advertise to stay at the 7 pm slot, not to mention that in the last few years they won Logie for best drama, so I don't think that anything will change any time soon - if it's not broken don't fix it.
  5. Robbo and Tori. I liked Christian and Tori and I'm glad that her character got a happy ending (even though I found her annoying at times), but I liked the friendship/ connection between her and Robbo. I think that they would've been the end game if Jake didn't decide to leave. I felt that they threw Jasmine in the mix just to create drama and a love triangle, I never really bought their love story.
  6. Sophie's got endometriosis which makes her stomach bloated and it's very painful (hence looking uncomfortable). https://www.nowtolove.com.au/celebrity/home-and-away/sophie-dillman-home-and-away-endometriosis-battle-71893 https://www.newidea.com.au/home-and-aways-sophie-dillman-inside-my-health-battle
  7. Rebecca is doing very well in Hollywood, tbh I would find it surprising if she actually came back. I think the actors don't want to shun the show so they always say they would consider returning but they never do.
  8. Kristy Wright just ranted about a new character named "Chloe" on her Instagram: "Hey @homeandaway! I hear there is a new “Chloe” joining the show? Strange choice in Character name considering I played Chloe for 5 years. Have you run out of names or did you just forget? I mean I know my Chloe is dead and can’t return but it would have been nice of you to have allowed me to keep “Chloe” as my own legacy. Especially after 5 years of putting my heart and soul into a character. I’ve got to say... it kinda sucks. Oh well" "Am I crazy to be pissed off about this? I know it was a long time ago... but Chloe is a MASSIVE part of who I am and my history. And I feel like she’s been stolen from me. Like my Chloe meant nothing. I’m really upset." https://www.instagram.com/p/CLx1crHgX-i/
  9. Mac said that she paid off the debt for the restaurant, however Rick was still paying for the car. So the car might be rented and Rick was paying for it, or its his car but Mac is driving it. Either way it doesn't legally belong to Paul even though Mac made a deal. I think that was the moment Tane realized he was falling for Ziggy. Until then he thought he was helping her because he owed her.
  10. I think that Ari feels responsible for the way Tane turned out. I remember Ari telling Mac that Tane was the best student and well behaved kid until he went to jail. When he got out Tane was completely different person. He is aware that he and Mikaere were bad role models and now has no other choice but to back him up - he's the only brother he's got. Tane said that he was young when Ari and Mikaere moved to Australia, so I assume he's joined them maybe after finishing high school, however I would like to know where their parents are. I actually like seeing them get along.
  11. Jai and Dean were both unconscious when Colby left, that was said numerous times. Colby caused the accident and left them without checking if they were OK. I can't remember once Dean saying that he told Colby to go - he would have no the reason to be angry at him. The reason why Dean forgave Colby was because he knew how important was for Colby to find Bella. Tane didn't know drugs were in the van. Drugs were hidden in panels of the van.
  12. Bella threatened Colby on several occasions, from my memory it was when she found out and when Colby came to pick her up at the car race. Bella is aware that Ross was a bad person and that he brainwashed her in a way, but he was her dad and she loved him. We could see that from her talk with Nik at the beach after they found his body and how repulsed she was with Colby being all proud and happy that he managed to destroy all the evidence. I think the reason why she didn't report him was because he was her only family and not because she approved of what he's done.
  13. I'm annoyed at the fact that Dean and Willow are trying to pawn off the whole situation with "Ross was a bad guy so it's OK". It can't be easy to get over the fact that your friends and boyfriend are covering up such a heinous crime. Dean knew Ziggy had trust issues as her previous two partners had cheated and lied to her, so with him keeping this massive secret he shouldn't have started the relationship if he couldn't be 100% honest (especially that he didn't want to pursue the relationship with Willow, who knew everything, for the same reason). But him having a child, and the way the whole situation is handled is also to blame for the break up.
  14. I don't think it was mentioned in the episode, but viewers know that the Garage has got the history of being involved with stolen goods and stolen cars and that had been on the police radar before. She gave Tane an earful about putting Justin into danger. Unless Tane (who is now missing) admits the fault, it would be hard to prove that Justin didn't know anything about it. At first Ziggy chose easier option, she wanted the van gone - no van no problem. Now with Tane missing she's stuck with stolen goods and has no choice but to get rid of it. If Tane killed someone I doubt she would cover it up. She was aware that Colby and Dean were not Saints, and was OK with their past, but the murder was something she couldn't just get over. She's got every right to be angry at Dean - he witnessed the man being killed and has done nothing about it. He kept that during their entire relationship, tried to deceive her when the body was found and finally he told her when he had no choice. Not to mention that he made her an accessory to murder. Even then she didn't report Colby.
  15. The main reason why she's covering for Tane is because of Justin. He trusted her with his business and she doesn't want to put more pressure on him. 'The Garage' has alredy been involved into few dodgy deals with Ash, Andy and Willow, going to the police would just make it worse for Justin. Not to mention there is a lot of difference between covering up stolen goods and the murder. Dean's got a lot of reasons to blame Colby for all the bad things that had happened to him, but this was not one of it. Colby couldn't help in this case. Dean might be Jai's dad biologically but he's not legally. He should've sorted this out the moment Amber told him the truth. He also shouldn't blame Colby for losing Ziggy, he started the relationship hiding this massive secret, while not wanting to renew his relationship with Willow because 'she deserves better'. Although Dean is in this position because of Colby, he should only blame himself. His blind loyalty to Colby has cost him everything.
  16. It looks like Tai Hara doesn't know that Josh and Andy were arrested. Please see the article about him commenting on Andy and Josh's exit https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-8991389/Tai-Hara-reveals-hes-open-returning-Home-Away.html
  17. I think he was having a hard time filling in that application form because he was having 'identity crisis'. I think he was missing his old life, the one Ari didn't approve off, and wasn't really sure if he wanted to start a new job just to be on Ari's good side. He told Nik before if it wasn't for him he would've left the Bay. Ari decided that he wanted out of criminal world (not that I blame him) and expected everyone else in the family to follow him, when Tane refused Ari cut him off and told him to stay away from Nik. The reason why he was so defensive was because he wanted Ari not to assume he would go back doing dodgy deals, but Ari being Ari he brought that up. And on the top of that he was angry at Ari and Mac for blaming him for their problems. Regarding Mac, I still think she's pretty much into Tane and it will be interesting to see the way she handles the situation now that he said he was done.
  18. I think it was only mentioned once by Jasmine, but we haven't seen them. H&A still have doctors 'in charge' of whole department, like when Alex told Jasmine off because she was having lunch with Willow at the hospital. Tbh I didn't really care, but my friend who is a nurse had real issue with it, because according to her Alex should've told Nurses Manager so that they could deal with Jasmine. But in TV shows nothing is like in the real life, and they had to have Alex and Willow meet somehow. ? Regarding Tori and Christian, tbh I don't really know, but I assume with him being the specialist he is in charge of his specialty and Tori of hers. I don't think Tori has the power to overrule Christian's decision regarding neurology or tell him what to do. But doctors consultants should just come and go, not hang around ED.
  19. Tori is not Christian's boss, she is Head of ED and he is neurosurgeon working at Neurology Department and he just comes to ED for consultations. Funny thing is that in real life Tori wouldn't be Jasmine's boss either, because in Australia nurses and doctors are managed by different managers, but H&A likes to present it 'old way' which makes my nurses friends angry.?
  20. But is Mac really close to Willow and Ziggy? Tbh I never got that impression. Most of their scenes/ conversations/ storylines were based around Dean, Bella and Colby. They never (not that I remember) had girly scene like Roo/Marilyn or Leah/Tori have. It was always about 'the family' - Mac trying to get back together with Colby, Willow advising Mac how to deal with Bella, all Dean's issues, etc. It's always been Willow, Dean, Colby and Bella and Ziggy lately (since she moved in with Dean). Mac never got to be part of that group even though she is Dean's sister and was Colby's girlfriend. Like when Willow celebrated promotion or Ziggy had divorce party she wasn't invited even though she was there both nights. I think the writers should make an effort to develop friendships like they used to. Maybe Mac and Ziggy will become close now that they live together, they have good chemistry. I like Mac and Ari too.
  21. I agree that she's got flirtatious personality and that the way she says things might come out differently, but after their talk at the beach right at the beginning (where she made her position clear) she made a few questionable decisions - getting into the fight, giving him grief for sleeping with someone else, purposely trying to make Tane jealous, approaching him on multiple occasions to flirt, not to mention being called out by Bella for being jealous, being called out by Dean for the way she looked at Tane, being called out by Amber, telling Ziggy that it's disaster waiting to happen and pausing when Ari directly asked her if she wanted to be with Tane, etc. I just think you wouldn't do things like that if its just platonic relationship you're after. As I said I think she has got feeling for both of them, and liked Tane's attention, but chose Ari as he is more reliable. However now that they will spend less time together I hope this storyline will just go away. All three characters deserve better, and it's been going on in circles for months now. With Ziggy and Mac living together I don't really think it's going to be a problem to keep Colby's secret. Ziggy pretty much dumped Dean and stopped discussing it. So unless Bella or Willow move in there there is no need for it to be mentioned at the Farm house. I was a bit surprised that Mac didn't really push to find out what really happened between Ziggy and Dean, but then again she was always kept out of everything that group does even though she's Dean's sister. I'm also surprised that the Paratas and Mac are not even curious about what is going on between Bella and Colby. They spent days looking for her and Nik with literally no explanation, I mean they got some vague explanation from Nik. Now Bella left home. I would find that very suspicious especially because there is active murder investigation. I don't think Bella and Nik are ready to move in together, but I think Nik has taken the roll Colby had in Bella's life - being the one she can always rely on. She was always close with Dean and Willow, but Colby was her number 1 person and now is Nik.
  22. I have no problem with her, or any other woman, being friendly with men while in the relationship nor I find something like that provocative, but considering that Tane is Ari's brother and that they already had a lot of issues (which she was well aware of from the beginning), she should have stayed away and put as much distance between them as possible (I don't think that would be too weird she barely talks to Nik). She was warned by her friends and family to keep him away, but she just ignored them and kept flirting even though she knew she wanted Ari. Tane is a player and if she told him off at the beginning, I doubt their attraction would develop to the point that it is awkward and difficult to be around each other. You can't choose who you are attracted to, but you can chose how to respond. Maybe she couldn't avoided him all the time, but didn't have to try and engage into conversation while he was on his own especially after he asked her for some space. It looks like she wants to be with Ari, but she doesn't want to let Tane go. Maybe she didn't intend to stay there permanently but she only started looking for another place after being told off by Tane, someone wanting to avoid awkwardness and conflict would've been eager to get out of there. I'm not saying that Tane is innocent in all this mess, but considering that Mac is the one who is in the relationship , she should've drew the line long time ago. I think that Mac and Ari work well together, and from what I've seen on social media they have got fans on their side. Tbh I'm surprised that Ari didn't suspect anything considering that few weeks ago Mac told him about her attraction to Tane. I don't think she is the character dominated by men, but I do believe that she's got more to offer then just being in love triangles. This is second love triangle in her first year on the show. I think that Ziggy and Mac living together is a good idea, however I wouldn't include Bella and Willow - last time only girls lived in that house 3 out of 4 died. ?
  23. I think that Mac is aware of the effect she's got on Tane, but it seams that she is the one who can't stay away from him. That's why I think she is the most to blame for this whole situation. She was happy to flirt with him and lead him on for months, she should've put him back to his place at the beginning and just not engage in any banter. The fact that she was in casual relationship with Ari is not an excuse, Tane is his brother. Then instead of putting Tane in opposite shifts at Salt as soon as she admitted her attraction to him, they kept working together, then she picked the fight with Amber because of him, give him the attitude because of his one night stands and at the end she moved in with no intention of moving out (as Nik said she's got the money she could've stayed at the motel). Also there were many times when she was kissing Ari while looking how Tane would react. Who does that! And once he asked her for some space, she kept trying to engage into conversation with him every chance she's got. Maybe she can't avoid him all the time, but she didn't have to go out while he was playing the guitar and simple 'hi' at the Surf Club would be enough. She might be with Ari, but I still think she is attracted to Tane. I really liked Mac when she came to the show, but this storyline really ruined her character.
  24. In TV Week interview Madeleine said this about Amber: "Being a good mum is everything to Amber and nothing will come between her relationship with Jai, but she wants a deep connection with someone. She wants to find someone who loves her for who she truly is- the bad-girl, single mum with a heart of gold!" So far this description doesn't suit Amber at all. She might not be bad person, but I don't believe she is nice either. I don't know why in TV shows 'tough girl' automatically needs to be rude and vile. Amber is vile and manipulative, and I'm afraid that in the next few weeks we'll get Amber with as I like to say 'behavior transplant' and the viewers will be expected to like her and get behind her and Dean's (possible) relationship.
  25. Not really a fan either. She looks like another loud-mouth girl with a lot of issues.
