  1. Thanks for posting that picture Fyn 3. It looks really good. Hopefully they'll make the Angelo's set look the same balcony wise as it looks like they have several small balconies on the Angelo's set. So it'll make it more realistic if they make it match the new extension.
  2. Yes the surf club is the same building on the outside we've always seen. They have just changed the inside set a few times. I've read somewhere in this forum in real life they are building an upstairs to the surf club. That's why we haven't had any shots of the outside recently. In home and away they jumped the gun and did a storyline where Angelo's was built upstairs. But the real life surf club hadn't got planning permission then. So the real life surf club has apparently got scaffolding up. If home and away hadn't had already built Angelo's then this could have been part of a storyline. It would be nice if anyone had any pics of how the north palm beach surf club looks now as its being extended. From the early years episodes I think the caravan park and SBH should be not far from the beach. In the original caravan park I remember seeing a wooden sign pointing to the beach. I agree now a days you can't always tell where things are meant to be. The beach house was always along the beach. You used to see people walking to and from the beach to th house. The hospital was always based in Yabbie Creek. I think it still is but not mentioned as much now. Characters pop to the city but we don't here much of them going into Yabbie Creek so much now. On the plus side it's nice that the original location for St James church is being used again. They used it for Roo and Harvey's wedding and used it on another wedding recently. (Won't say who because it's a spoiler for us UK viewers and can't use the spoiler setting as I'm on mobile version of forum). So hopefully we'll get some good locations in the future.
  3. Further to what I said about British soap Coronation Street rebuilding the whole street; it's been reported on British news that they spent 10 million pounds on the project. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't cost channel 7 that much for just building summer bay house. I've noticed on an Aussie property site that the rebuilt house at pinyaro valley has been up for rent in the past. It's not now but they could have snapped that opportunity up.
  4. Yes I agree with Light of the Bay. We only see the location for the Braxton and Palmer houses. But we need locations for Irene's and Leahs. Most importantly we need a Summer Bay House location again. There is an almost exact replica in the original location. Maybe the current owners do not want them to film there. I would have hopes the producers would have enquired about this! (If not, Why?) We was also told by Cameron Welsh we'd get a replica built. But nothing came of it. Uk soap Coronation street managed to secure a location and rebuild the WHOLE street and surrounding areas bigger than what they are now. All Home and Away needs is ONE house and room for the caravan park. So it'd be nice if the budget allowed them to do this. Then we can see characters walking from the park to the house again. No more old stock shots of the original house before it burnt down.
  5. If you're the same Andrew who does the rearranged underscores on YouTube then maybe your next challenge could be to rearrange the theme Your idea sounds really good
  6. Yes he is at least Bianca is keeping them in line. So it definitely looks like disappointment for those of us who want a longer opening. In 2009 there was a longer version with the 'Hold me in your arms don't let me go. I want to stay forever. Closer each day, Home and Away' section of the theme. Even that length would be ideal. Like we've said he recap could be shortened a little bit.
  7. Has anyone seen the video of uk radio presenter Nick Grimshaw on youtube. He has filmed a cameo in some British soaps as well as Home and Away. He is seen in a cameo in London with Brax, Heath and Bianca. At the beginning and end of the clip there are updated versions of the current opening style. If this is what they are using for next year I doubt there'll be proper opening titles. Hope they update uk end credits.
  8. Neighbours still manages to have opening credits. They even launched a search in the UK and Australia to find a singer for the new theme. It's a pity Home and Away couldn't do the same thing. I'd be surprised if a longer opening came back. I also agree that the recaps can be a bit too long sometimes. Let's see what next year brings for the opening and the show
  9. I remember 'suddenly' by Angry Anderson playing in the diner sometime in a 1989 episode. (This was the song played at Scott and Charlene's wedding Neighbours)
  10. I've just seen that. Different title card and different coloured logo. Hopefully it will be a longer one this year. But it looked even shorter on this clip.
  11. I was born in the late and Vanessa left uk screens about 1991 or 1992ish so I didn't really remember much about her. I vaguely remember the headswap though. Blonde one minute brunette the next. So I mainly grew up with Pippa 2 and Michael. I always thought darkhaired Pippa seemed a bit downtrodden and unhappy. - Probabaly because she missed Michael. But now after watching almost all Vanessa's episodes, I prefer her because she seems more real. She is fiesty and upbeat. She has coolness about her but she is still mumsy and caring. I've also seen some early Debra episodes and at the start you could tell they were still writing for Vanessa Downing. - This didn't totally suit Debra. Debra is a good actress though. I definitely count Vanessa as the proper Pippa. But as people have said in the past they needed to recast at short notice and Debra was probably the best they could find. But it's a shame Vanessa left
  12. I miss Lance and Martin. I think they were trying to create a double act with Adam and Matt. I like them but they are not the same as Lance and Martin. Martin was the brains behind most of the schemes. I felt sorry for him when Marilyn got him to move out. It was funny in episode 182 when he spiked Donald's water bag and Celia drunk it and got really drunk. I enjoyed it when he returned for Sally's wedding and the episode where the boat sank in 2002. It's a shame him and Lance didn't stay on for longer
