  1. Yeah but homosexuality was only decriminalized in Tasmania in '97... We're ever so slightly behind the UK... There's a reason why such a big deal was made about them. Australia's a lot further behind than most people think. I didn't mind Angelo before he murdered Jack and lied to everyone and MURDERED JACK.. His return is completely unbelievable but I do love watching Watson's response to him haha She cracks me up Lol cos I know when someone I trust murders one of my good friends it really builds on that trust... It's not slightly behind the UK it's at the very least 10 is not more years behind in tv representation. This is the type of short term storyline that I would have expected to see on a British soap in 1995 or something like that. Sex between men was decriminalised in 1967(lesbian sex was never a criminal act in the UK for reasons that aren't entirely clear). Reading this articles in the past few months I can see that Australia is clearly alot more homophobic that I thought, I mean Spain of all countries even allows gay marriage and that's a pretty catholic country too. I wouldn't say the depiction of gay and lesbian relationships on soaps in the uk has delevoped that far. I could be wrong but I cannot think of any times that gay and lesbian characters have been shown more than kissing. For example, we saw Charlie wake up in Angelo's bed a few episodes back (Uk wise) yet as far as I recall I have ever seen any gay/lesbian characters in a mainstream/primetime soap be in a scene that explicit. I think Hollyaoks did it in a late night show but I do not watch that show so I can't confirm. It fact the only soap that i remeber show gay characters go further than kissing was ironically an australian one - Pacific Drive. So maybe OZ soaps aren't that far behind us, although the fact that C/J seemed to be VERY similar to the lesbian story on Breakers 10 YEARS ago maybe they haven't moved on at all.
  2. Pretty stupid of him wasn't it?...considering he was one of the first to cotton onto to the fact that Charlie had the hots for Joey... That always struck me as strange how he worked it out before everyone else. I think he was just a perv, not really smart. I'm all excited I've got a new character to hate as much as Martha. All the new fun I can have on DS. Can't bring myself to hate Charlie as I realise the writers are making her charecter do complete about faces.(I hated Beth from Brookside after the writers had her dump Margaret and ruin a beautiful storyline) But will be disappointed when the Angelo scenes hit the screens.

  4. I can't believe she would only get a rap on the knuckles over her sleeping with Joey. Plus living with her when the case was still ongoing...surely this would effect the outcome of the court case - with the rape charges in mind? Man if Robbo was smarter and not tried to kill Joey to silence her... the charges would have to be dropped on that alone, surely? Well it seems that the court case will never happen seeing as Joey and her trawler will disappear into the Australian equivalent of the Bermuda Triangle.
  5. I won't because Charlie is almost on par with Martha on my hate list because of the way she treated Joey and I hate when they make all the female characters pathetic and jealous. Also the whole stupid half-witted gay storyline means if H&A ever attempt anything like that again I will have to switch of for fear of my own sanity. As for Charlie still being in a job, well if they kept Jack and Angleo in the force they could hardly fire Charlie who has a positvely glowing record compared to them. If the show was realistic Watson would be running the station and Jack, Angelo and Charlie would have been out on their backsides. I still have the feeling that the writers are trying to alienate Charlie from her friends.
  6. I don't know maybe if Joey was really horrible to Charlie and Angelo was really nice, she might dump Angelo for Joey. It's logic...Joey needs to learn that. Ruby knows that to expect with Charlie, she's a ho. Ruby will probably more concerned about how upset Xavier will be about it. Yeah, I didn't think about that. Maybe they will break up for a while over it - Like every couple does in the show, once in a while? Again back to Charlie...this will defo test her apparent friendship with Martha... Poor Esther, it seems that the writers are doing their best to make Charlie unpopular with all the other charecters and with the viewers. Nah. They'll love love her with Angelo - for aesthetic reasons of course. I myself think they will be one of the better couples in the show - though I never invest myself in the shows relationships too much! However, I wish they hadn't done a stupid ratings ploy with her character beforehand which sours Changelo 4 me. Actually come to think about it, that is two "murderers" Charlie has slept with and Hugo seems to be pretty dodgy as well. Plus sleeping with the vistim of a crime she was investigating. I know it is a soap, but come on how on earth is she still in a job let alone a senior officer.

  8. I think it was always over - once they said goodbye at the Wharf. Seven's claim about trying to get KB back was just spin to diffuse the whole situation, IMO. Back to Charlie anyway...does anyone think that Ruby will be annoyed over her and Angelo not cos of the Joey situation but because she's sleeping with a 'cop killer'? I think Ruby seems to be annoyed with everyone Charlie sleeps at the moment, hopefully she will come out with another stinging barb when she finds out. And yes I agree that the wharf scene was always going to be the end of C/J I do however feel that they did make some attempt (belatedly) to try and get KB to appease the fans.
  9. Poor Joey indeed. If it was true that the Joey/Charlie storyline wasn't quite over in the writers eyes, then it looks that if KB did agree to return it would be simply to get Joey dumped for Angelo. Poor Joey if only she had known where she had gone wrong. I don't have any sympathy for Charlie, she's a grown women she should get over it. Good for see Ruby isn't so bad in that regard, but I guess Ross seemed to have more affection for her.
  10. I do not think that will be the case somehow.
  11. They'll soon edit that to a phase or somthin when it suits them. Yes, probably say something like this - On the rebound from Roman and devastated by Angelo's involvement in Jack's death, a confused Charlie becomes emotionally involved with the female victim of case she is investigating. Howver, she quickly realises she is not gay and the relationship ends. Sorry to be so cynical. That's a hard one cos she was terrible to all of them. She scared the hell out of Roman, used Angelo and was dishonest to Joey. Probably Joey though cos she was vulnerable and a nice girl, who went through hell beforehand. Definately Joey and is still treating Joey badly as storyline wise she is supposed to be waiting for Joey to return from her "3 month" trip.
  12. Anyone else notice the irony that while Charlie has left pretend Lesbian-land onscreen and any mention of Joey is strictly forbidden that Charlie’s profile on the official H&A website states that she is gay and even mentions Joey by name.
